Hey all - I have been gone but I am back. Just going to say that I have had a rough few months and getting back on track isn't easy. However, I am owning my screw ups and doing what I need to do.

Having a good day today and staying on track. Will walk this afternoon...as long as it doesn't rain, and if it does rain then I will try to get my treadmill put back together.

LOL...I feel like I posted and everyone disappeared. Okay so anyway..I walked yesterday afternoon; not as far as I would have liked...had my four legged friend with me, but it was good. The sun is out and I plan on hitting it again.

Yay for the walk Jaime!
I'm the at the least I've weighed in 10 years!
Very strict on Atkins induction still, losing slowly. I bought a package of underwear 1 size smaller. Feels good!

Hey Linda - congratulations on the non scale victory! Smile That is great! I have been good and slid and then good and slid again. I guess I keep learning to stop myself before I back slide too far so that is a good thing. It is just so hard to get back in the saddle, but I am doing it. I know I do much better when I have support from others.

I did get my walk in yesterday (no fur babies with me) so got in 1.5 miles, and feeling good about that. It is sunny right now and I hope to get another walk in this afternoon; as long as the weather holds out.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Just checking in. Probably had more carbs (in the way of hidden) yesterday than I know I wanted, but I am back on schedule today and keeping to plan. DH is getting a tooth extracted today so soup for him and that means soup for me. I cannot eat anything else in front of him that would be mean. Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning - just my daily check in. Another good day down and feeling just a little better. I have a mammogram this afternoon so will try to get DH to walk with me this evening if he is feeling up to it. This morning he was much better - yesterday was a bit of a challenge. I hope you all have a great day!

Hi, everyone. Once again, I trying to get back into the Atkins routine. This last year, and especially the last two months have been very difficult. I lost my dad exactly one month ago, so my focus has been on my mom. It's hard living in a different state from her, but she seems to be doing well. It seems like the wrong thing to do, but I do need to put some focus on myself. I won't be any help to her if I'm not healthy, so I'm going to get back to it.

I just really need to remember to take it day to day. I also need to get better at the "daily check in." The support from this group is great.

jbatc I am very sorry for your loss, but happy to see you back. It doesn't sound wrong at all! You are right, you must take care of yourself. We are no good to anyone if we aren't healthy.

I am here taking one day at a time too and checking back in here daily. We can do this!

Daily check in here - didn't get my walk in yesterday but did good food wise. Taking it one day at a time, but I can tell that a lot of bloating is already gone from my mid-section now that I am eating better.

Officially reduced my weight by 15 lbs today. The journey started in Jan at 211lbs! Now down to 195lbs! Yay. My goal is to shed another 10 lbs by April 30th. Started HIIT training today since it is time to reshape this body. I feel fantastic, young, and determined!

Congratulations Lmbucalo!

I am sticking to things here. Proud of myself for staying back on track. I have already lost a couple of pounds this week, but since I am trying to get back where I was I haven't posted anything. I did think I would eat emotionally for stress last night...had some stressful news, but I am proud of myself that I didn't

I hope that everyone has a great weekend.

Jaime - I hope everything is okay, but congrats on not giving into stress eating.

I am doing okay this week. I still need to do more prep for my meals during the day, so that I have everything ready for the week. That is what has thrown me off this week.

So, back from my visit to Virginia to meet my new grandson. Did okay, all things considering, on my diet. But now feeling horribly bloated! Sooo tempted to take something medicinal for it, but I know that's not the right thing to do. Hoping lots of water will help, and getting myself moving. Anyone have some other suggestions to solve this...problem??

TGIF to everyone!!

For someone reason FS stopped sending me email notifications on this group and I thought it died. I came in to check today and there are new posts. Not sure what happened to my settings.

I had two tough weeks. Work stress, and the stupid department candy dish, which I avoided for 6 months. I put myself back on track this week, and feel the difference. Now I have visiting company for the weekend, which makes eating so hard. I end up feeling like I am starving myself as I watch other people eat. Even though I am not starving, or even hungry.

I am honestly at the point where I hate restaurants and I hate visitors. Both make me fee very out of control. Even though I am in control.

Welcome Odrish. Sorry about being naive, but Kidney damage from low carb? I had some serious issues with Kidney stones last year and my doctor actually recommended low carb to stop them. Just new learning for me.

wow, where'd everybody go? i haven't seen this place so quiet since...well, never! the weather is beautiful and dh & i spend most of the weekend outside doing yardwork and walking downtown. so glad the winter is over over over (knock on wood)! somehow i just find it easier to stick to my eating plan in the warmer months. maybe because in the cold weather "comfort" food beckons.

rgmanley and Odrish: I was a chronic kidney-stone sufferer for years, seriously like one every 6-8 months requiring lithotripsy! Kidney-stones and kidney problems are often caused by high protein, not low carb. Many people mistakenly think Atkins is low carb-high protein, which it isn't. Since making an Atkins lifestyle choice, I have now been kidney-stone free for 2 years (which for me, is a long time).

Have a good day everyone!!

Thanks Berley1! I have not had a single Kidney stone since reducing my carbs. I don't actually do Atkins, but a low-carb diet. I try to be under 50gr carbs (closer to 30) and between 70 - 100gr protein. I would not call that "high" but...

I got a little nervous that it could effect Kidneys since before my life-style change, I was having at least 1 stone every 3 months. And not one since October.

Hello Everyone,
I am 71 yrs old and looking for support and motivation on Fat Secret. I am hoping this group will be the one. I have 80 lbs to lose. Was thin all my life until I got an eye disability that rendered me from driving. That was in 2002. Life is different and my eyes are getting worse to where I don't walk any longer. I am not about to give up though. I purchased a walking stick 2 days ago. I need to get out and learn to walk with it. Listening to the different sounds and calculate which sound goes to what. It isn't my eye balls that have the problem. It is the eye lids. They close tightly and I cannot open them. I can pull them up with a finger though. I get botox shots to paralyze the nerves all around my eyes and eyebrows. They used to work wonderfully, but after 11 yrs of shots, I am becoming immune to the shots. I do very well living within my boundaries and want to stretch them.
