Did anyone catch the Dr. Oz show yesterday where even he now admits lowering carbs and upping fat is the way to go to improve your health! It was a very interesting segment where Dr. David Perlmutter, one of the top neurologists in the US, says carbs are poison to our brain. Consuming healthy fats and limiting carbs can indeed help prevent and even reverse conditions such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, Parkinson's, and ADHD.

I also read a story about a trial happening at the University of Florida where Alzheimer's patients are now being given 2 oz a day of coconut oil. It's believed it can reverse, slow or eliminate many symptoms of the disease. I hope they find that's true when the study is complete in about a year.

For anyone doing low carb now, you truly are ahead of your time! Be nice when others jump on our wagon and take the beautiful ride we're all on. Your future and the quality of your life depends on sticking to the plan, remember that when you get the urge to stray.

I am here. Took oldest on his "class" field trip to the pumpkin patch today. Left early because he just didn't feel well. We got home and he took a nap. He is 9, so you know he wan't feeling well if he took a nap. Sure enough fever is in full swing.

Took my hot yoga last night instead of in the morning because the littlest was home sick from school yesterday. I was able to get much deeper into the poses and was very proud of myself. Now today my muscles are sore!

Dialup, I understand the beauty of a nap.
Marlene, great weather we continue to have
Sun, I didn't watch that show but many people are getting on board with the fact that refined carbs are killing us.

Everyone, I made two low carb desserts using Splenda, which I usually don't eat. I was craving pumpkin pie though. The dessert is pretty ok. I just don't like the taste of artificial sweeteners.

Hope u had a great run! Started interval walking today. Changing speeds from moderate walk, fast walk, to jog. Jogs were short, but met my goal for how much I should devote to jogging. I read many reasons why this helps with weight loss. I am committing to it for a week. If the scale shows progress, it may inspire me to continue.

Keeping low carb. Off induction but carbs are usually only 10% of my daily calories. I have allowed myself a couple special treats that blew it up to 25%

We've got really crappy weather in Ontario Marlene, ground was covered in snow yesterday morning and it's been raining/wet snow ever since. It's not laying though thank goodness, melting as it hits now.

Sure hope everyone plans on staying the coarse over the weekend. It's not a time for a free for all and you only hurt yourself by venturing off the plan, no point in whining or making excuses after the fact! Eating low carb can be fun, it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it and well worth all of the effort each and everyone puts into it. Show them what your made of!

Don't forget to check out the recipe thread for lots of really delicious stuff, you'll be glad you did.

That's the spirit Red, climb right back on and forget about it. Maybe do some planning over your long weekend to have some better snacks readily available when the stress hits. Coconut oil candy comes to my mind, chocolate fixes everything! A few different recipes for them in the recipe thread and they are really good for you, does it get any better than that?

Good Evening Red and Everyone Smile . Red, just think of getting off track with the stress, as something you are aware of and hopefully with the time off your getting you'll be able to get a handle on it. Good Luck...Marlene

Weather finally sunny in Indianapolis. Makes getting out and walking more rewarding. I am being very strict 6 days per week but allowing pizza on Friday nights with my family. Keeps me from feeling deprived. I do three sessions of exercise on Fridays as my pizza toll! Rest of the weekend, back on the super low carb plan.

Good morning everyone. John's big sis went back to her foster mom yesterday. Not fun having her for the weekend. There are a lot of serious and very scary issues with her and we were not prepped for them. Did manage to keep Johns routine intact. Now we are just dealing with fall-out behavior wise. Still sticking to the low-carb as much as I can, some days I have to grab whatever is available. weight is maintaining right now.

Keep the faith, Jen

Good morning everyone. Well, my 3 days off went well and I got myself back on track. I took off what I had gained and I am hoping by Thursday I will have dropped a couple more so I can have a loss this week.

Myrna 80lbs is fantastic!!
