Happy Dance - it is Friday and it is going to be 60 - we are going straight from Winter to summer again this year.

Mryna - awesome job 50 lbs you deserve you very own happy dance

Carbtracker - who knew Yellow was good way to go. Looking for low impact I do pilates only 20 minutes and I can say sore, sore, sore the next day so it must work or I am just really old LOL

Rowanfair - hopefully you can put that blue nail polish on this weekend and hang in there with the ups and downs

Atriel - I hear you on the PMS my friend TOM is here and I hate that guy....I thought part of the old age was getting rid of that guy permanently Smile

Dialup - very inspirational post. I had my ah ha moment when my dad passed away a few weeks ago. Completely healthy in shape 74 year old who wasn't happy if he wasn't golfing or playing horseshoes or swimming. Gets a headache and three days later he is gone. Made me think if I only have 25 years left I need to do whatever I can to stay healthy from my hubby and kids (and hopefully grandkids - can't wait for the little rugrats)

PDX - no more weighing in after you shower girlfriend. I too am a slave to the scale. Not sure how to get over it if you figure it out let me know.

New Normal -Happy Friday Back at you.

Sunkeeper - thanks for everything you are truly an inspiration. I can't wait to be blue Smile

Sorry if I missed anyone!! Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday to you all! I see lots of new names and look forward to getting to know you all.

Myrna!! Get your happy dance on girl! So very happy for you. WAY TO GO!!!

SO--here goes yet another swift kick in the pants to me. It seems like I keep trying to get back on track but can't really make myself commit to it. There are 400 excuses as to why I keep falling off but mostly it's pure laziness. I completely forgot to fix something for lunch today to bring to work. So what do I do two minutes before I'm supposed to leave none other than make a PB&J sandwich--and that's been bothering me all day. So instead of eating that sandwich I'm going to run across the road to the store and grab some pepperoni and cheese slices and call it a meal. At least that won't be two meals shot in one day. (Had cereal for breakfast--another "oh crap I forgot" moment.
For those of you who know what all has been going on with my life, here goes a quick update.
1. Graduation completed- I finally have an AA Degree as a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist.
2. Certification completed- I'm now officially an AAPC credentialed CPC-A(Certified Professional Coder-that lurky A is for Apprentice which will fall off in a couple years)

So onward to steps 3 and 4. Finding a Job and Moving back on my own! I'm excited about all of this change, not only because it affects my financial situation but it also affects my eating habits. I will be able to buy and eat foods without other peoples influences. Which for me is a huge step to kicking this weight once and for all!

EDIT:
I need some ideas for things I can take for lunch that do not require a microwave--i used to just eat left overs from the previous night but now I'm a bit lost. Help!!

Okay,
I'm having a crisis. Something along the line of yours NEWNORMAL, but mine was intentional.
Everyone in my family and some of my friends were literally screeching for me to stop with the aspartame. Now, you all know that I finally had to just give up the diet cokes (excepting the 2 from Sonic each week). The only aspartame I was getting was in my jello. Okay, Okay, I KNOW I eat a lot of jello. It's a new discovery for me. When I say A LOT, I mean, really, A LOT.
I was going through a box a day, which is four servings. I make it in 2 serving portions. I was eating one after my 4 miles in the morning, kinda like breakfast and the other I was eating as a late snack before bed. IT NEVER THREW ME OUT OF KETOSIS!!! I swear I was getting more aspartame in Diet Coke. I'm sure of it, plus, I was drinking out of cans.
Okay, so to appease everyone I decide to go healthier and make my own dang jello. I go to the store, purchase the gelatin, purchase the flavoring, purchase STEVIA in the RAW and Truvia. Well, the Truvia says "net carbs 0" but it has sugar alcohols, so I decided to try the Stevia first. No, I didn't make jello. I added one packet to a mug of coffee to determine the "sweetness" of it. It was very sweet, but by the time I finished half the mug it became bitter tasting to me. So much so that I didn't finish the coffee OR make jello. I had nothing else after that (10pm) and that was after a dinner of just fried pork chops (0Carbs). This morning I forgot to check Ketosis as there was some pre-school turmoil so when I got back from my 4 miles I checked. #)(*$#)*#@)$*)% I'm BARELY hanging onto ketosis? What the????? Normally I'm maxed out day and night. The only "odd" thing I had yesterday was green olives and they've never had any negative impact before and besides it was only SEVEN olives for crying out loud.
So... what??? I can't use Stevia? I'm terrified to try anything at this point. I need someone to swoop in with some answers and save me. I'm sitting here with $12 worth of jello ingredients and can't make myself make the jello!!! Let me say this. I LOG everything. EVERYTHING. There is nothing in my last two days that could have caused this unless it's dehydration and I don't think that had anything to do with it. The scale actually shows .2 less this morning.
I know some people don't like aspartame OR jello, but it was the greatest thing to come in after my walk and enjoy that ice cold jello. At night it was like a welcome treat to the end of a long day. Okay, maybe I should have stuck to one serving at a time instead of two, but still.
I just don't know what to do. The jello had become such a staple in my current way and I don't want to lose it. I know it actually keeps me from over-eating. I'm just torn and can't make any rational decision. I guess I should try the Stevia again, but I'd have to wait until I was at max ketosis again before I would be brave enough. Otherwise, I could just make my dang "poison" jello and ignore the apartame warning. The last time I lived Atkins there was no such thing as Stevia or Truvia or aspartame. I used saccharin..LOL.
Okay, this is no laughing matter, and while I realize it's not a serious life problem it is really important to me, so, everybody weigh in with your opinions. I value them all.

MYRNA!!! You rock!!! 50 lbs! Amazing, absolutely amazing. I was trying to get a visual.... think 50lb sack of dog food. You've got to be grinning ear to ear. Congratulations. Keep up the good work!
SUNKEEPER I tried your ticker trick.... not working for me. LOL. But hey, I tried. I saw that YELLOW for a split second and now the ticker's messed up again... (sigh) I'm still trying to wrap my mind around wanting to be "blue". If we are ever going to find out what comes after blue, you're the one to do it. OUR PIONEER! Charting new territory.
BRENDA- After a shower? really? are you nutz? let me guess, surely you blow dried your hair first, and you made sure you took your shower in cold water? Don't do that again. Stick to once a day and just live with numbers. Don't let them control you. Pay attention to the overall.
TONI- I am so sorry for you. We lost 35 years of stuff in a house fire and everyone wanted to know if we had backed it up. Of course we had, and the backup harddrives were right there next to the computer when the house burned down. (rolling eyes) Now we are trying to do mostly cloud storage, but again, my harddrive is full and we don't have a lot of bandwidth so it's S L O W going. But years of records cannot be replaced. I'm hoping for your sake you find a fairly secure way of backing your stuff up.
DIALUP I look at your numbers and seriously wonder how much longer you could have managed.... then I look at your ticker and know how dedicated you have become. Epiphany. Yes. I read your remark about your Mom and I couldn't help but chuckle. My Mamaw used that saying "come-to-Jesus-moment" all the time, anytime someone decided to do better, be better, realize they had a purpose.
ROWAN - just go ahead and paint them...never know when CSI is gonna need someone.
ALMOST50 - I don't know what pilates are, but you can bet I'm gonna find out!! Thanks.
RACHEL - You gotta get your head in the game. Good thought, toss the PB&J, eat pepperoni and cheese. Yes, that's a good lunch. You are definitely the kind of girl that needs pre-preparation. You can still eat left-overs.. provided that they are YOUR leftovers (ie low carb). You can make "sandwiches" from meat/cheese/mayo rolled in a lettuce leaf. My fav lunch to carry is ham salad with pork rinds (everyone else here eats their on crackers - I use pork rinds). Or you can have your ham salad in lettuce leaf, OR used as a stuffer for celery. Virtually all very low carb. Buy bagged salad - Fresh Express Italian has a serving size of 2 1/2 cups. Even with adding a low carb cheese and crumbled bacon or grilled chicken or boiled eggs or ham or whatever... that's EASY to get ready to go in the morning.
My general rule of thumb is never run out of something that you can "grab and go". Never be without boiled eggs. Period. In times of great stress you can eat 2 and be fine until you can figure out what else to do. I've also used ham salad to stuff deviled eggs. Buy LARGE blocks of cheese that you enjoy that are 1 carb or under for 1oz. (Sharp Cheddar, Monterey Jack, Swiss),
either cut into 1 oz pieces and wrap tightly or shred and store tightly sealed in a zip lock. If you are near a WalMart they have plastic disposable "condiment cups" in the paper aisle. (you can wash and reuse) 1 oz of shredded cheese will fit just nicely in those. They are also very handy for salad dressing if you use it. If you have a grill (indoor/outdoor) grill chicken (whichever part you enjoy most) in batches, slice into 3oz servings and store in Ziploc SnackBags.
CONGRATULATIONS on your recent educational accomplishments. That was no easy feat. Just look at what you've managed to do. A new way of eating is infinitely easier than going back to school. Trust me. You've done a really hard thing and done it well, so just kick those 400excuses to the curb and get with it!

I found some Carbquick about 200 miles down the road. Hubs has a meeting near there tomorrow so I'm going to have him pick some up.. but I'm afraid to use it... sheesh.
Happy Friday to all. My hubby is off and he's in charge of getting the kids from school while I'm picking up some of my grandkids today so I guess I'll be baking cookies tonight and huntin' tadpoles tomorrow! For those of you who THINK Summer had finally arrived with your 60 degree temps... well.. we're at 80 today, summer is coming and SO are the mosquitoes!

Hey Carb Tracker - wow what a fiasco with Jello Smile I am not a sweet person so I don't have any clue what is best.

However, I have been doing some major experiments with Carbquik (LOVE LOVE LOVE) - you may find it easier to order online rather than burning gas....I checked out pricing on the web and am now on my third box. I have been taking bisquick recipies and making substituions I can send you what I have come up with and the family is pretty happy with the results. My hubby is now using it in all of his gravies....not sure if we will ever go back to flour.

Best of luck on the Jello Smile

It's a happy Sat morning, going to be sunny and WARM today, it's about time, geesh. Maybe we all can get out and move a bit in the fresh air.

CarbTracker, not sure what to say to your problem not being a jello expert by any means but maybe, just maybe have 1 of the big servings and splitting the 2nd one in half for the evening treat?

Rachael, your an old pro at this, once your back in the swing it'll be second nature. You really should try making some of the Garlic Parmesan Crackers that are over in the Recipe thread, I have them for lunch lots with some cream cheese, gets your fibre up and fat too, win win and we all love those. You could also spend weekend time making some Oopsie buns which could be a sandwich any time with cold meat or egg salad etc. Salad is my go to, so easy with the carbs being from the leafy greens, another win. I love caesar salad with bacon rather than croutons, gives the crunch and adds to the taste. Check out some of the other members food diaries to get ideas of what they're doing, that's always a great place to start cause if it works for them it should work for you too. Good to have you back again, hoping the job search doesn't take long and you get the position your dreaming of.

I think at some point all of us become slaves to our scales, it's a big downfall for losers though it really shouldn't be. I've been within the very same couple of pounds for over 2 weeks now, 2 lbs doesn't make a really big difference right? My point being I was so surprised this week to see another inch off the measurements, a whole inch though my weight has stayed pretty consistent. The number on the scale is only 1 indicator, if you measure and go by how your clothes feel on you they combined tell you how things are going. Also, if your jumping on and off the scale 2, 3 or 10 times a day do you really expect to see a 5 lb loss on one of the readings? Set yourself a time of day and stick to it so you don't become a slave to a number, it's not only about a number, it's about so many other factors and if your truly wanting to make this a new way of life you can't be in the habit of a weigh in taking up half of your day. You didn't get to where you are over night and your not going to change it that way either.

It's hard, it's really really hard to chose the right foods, to set your mind to a place where you know you can succeed and to accomplish your goals but anything is possible if you try hard enough. Low carbing works, way to many successful people on here to prove other wise. It takes time, it takes knowledge and it takes support from your friends. Make sure your not to rough on yourself, today is a whole new day, yesterday is gone and tomorrow isn't here yet. Today is your present, be grateful for it and treat yourself right, you deserve it.

Happy low carbing and happy weekend everyone.

Yeah it is Saturday and it is going to be warm - get to spend the whole day packing up the house and putting items on the lawn to see if anyone wants to buy.....we are not pack rats and this seems to be a never ending task UGH.

Rachel - not sure if you are a sandwich person but I buy carb zero bread and make a sandwich with ham, roast beef, cheese, lettuce, tomatos....then I make some fat fast coleslaw. I half it and I have a meal for two days at work.

Sunkeeper - way to go. I agree it is all about choosing the right foods and making it a life style change....I just need to drag my hubby along for the ride...he is getting there very SLOWLY.

Have a great day all!!

Thank you Everyone! I could NOT have done it without ALL of YOU! In dire times I turn to you, and all is right again! Very Happy

It's kinda sad that some of the most important people in my last 4 months have disappeared. Julie, Linda..etc..where have they all disappeared to?

Busy day at work yesterday....the first time I never logged onto FS in a 24 hr period....hope that doesn't happen again! Shudder the thought!!! Lol

Sunkeeper : I tried the ticker tip...as you can see....no worky! Going to try those garlic parm crackers...sound yummo!
Carbtracker : if you give up the diet coke, I say eat the sf jello....you have already cut way down by ditching the soda...

I am not a big zucchini fan, but have been seeing a lot of recipes that use that veg....I think the whole family might like some of them....I have been to 3 stores and can't find any zucchini. WTH??? I'll keep looking...

Twin 1 has a birthday party to go to this afternoon, so hubby is taking him...Twin 2 gets some one on one with Mom...he calls it Mommy and Me day! He's so cute!

Everyone have a great, wonderful, fab, low carb day!

Wow, I'm gone for a day and you guys are posting like crazy!

Rachel - I am so glad to see you around! Would it be possible to pack a salad to take to lunch with you? I eat a lot of salads.

Carbtracker - Don't rely too much on the keto-sticks. They only register a very specific kind of ketone. Basically, if you're eating under 40 net carbs a day, you're in nutritional ketosis.
As far as the stevia - personally, I can't stand it. But, I do know that combining sweeteners leads to a better tasting end product. So, I'll use erythritol and liquid splenda together and that makes the end product taste better with no weird chemical after taste or bitterness.
Ultimately, if splenda works for you, it works for you. I wouldn't stress too much about it.

Myrna - I don't love zucchini by it's self. But, the zucchini crust pizza is AMAZING. And so are the zucchini "dorito" chips.
Enjoy your mommy and me day!

Asparagus is in season again and I could not be happier. We had the daughter's boyfriend over for dinner last night. Salad, steak and asparagus. He loved it! He'd never had it before.

I'm off to grab some breakfast but I'll check in again later.

You guys all sound so positive, well except for the Jello fiasco of which I can be absolutely NO help, sorry! Confused
I have been pretty strictly following the under 20 net carb induction phase (weigh in tomorrow...more to come!) and have been experiencing depression! At first I thought it was just the transition phase, but am losing my patience with it.lol as if...Mad

Anyway, yesterday I had a quest bar (21 g pro, 17g fiber, 3 net carbs, etc) at the end of the day and felt better. It didn't dawn on me until I looked at low carb femme's website and BAM, there it was #8, Depression. I could always go to OWL, but am still hopeful this will just pass. Besides, this stage is only 2 weeks. Any ideas/feedback/comments?

I do kickboxing at a gym that specializes in it three mornings a week for an hour. I drip with sweat and kick the crap out of that bag. I have noticed some decreased power that is slowly coming back... Just transition from glucose pathway to ketones, I get it. My body is getting strong (doing it since Oct2012) and I realize I am building muscle, but there is 30 lbs of fat that can be lost.

Oh, I didn't tell you... After my morning melt down my husband hid the scales. Lol. I get to weigh myself on Sunday tho! So funny. He keeps me in check whether I want him to or not Smile

I am so thankful to have somewhere to vent. I also appreciate the perspective as to this being a journey that will take some time (thx sunkeeper). I will try to be patient Rolling Eyes

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone! I will try to get better at the names in order to address you individually.

Good Saturday morning!!

CarbTracker-- Thank you for all of the wonderful ideas and a swift kick in the rear! I will go grocery shopping tomorrow (hopefully the rain will have stopped) and get things to get back on track.

Sunkeeper-- You are right. I've been at this for a while. You'd think I could get myself together a bit easier than I have. Time to get it together and start doing things the right way instead of half @$$ing things. Maybe add a mini refrigerator to my corner of the house for more storage space LOL Thanks for the food reminders. I need to go read through the recipe thread again.

Myrna--Enjoy your "Mommy and Me Day!" So glad to see you have been able to stick with the plan and congrats on all that you have lost! So very proud of you girly--and yes I know I've told you that before but I wanted to say it again.

Toni---It's great to see you and it's great to be back. Salads are one of the few things that I've been taking lately. I just simply forgot to pack until it was too late yesterday. Next week WILL be better. Asparagus is one of my favorites too.

NewNormal--Hello, nice to meet you. Not sure how long you've been here but welcome! I hope you enjoy a wonderful picnic.

PDXmom-- Welcome. So glad that you're hanging in there. I discovered that I had to get out of the house and get fresh air more along with more sunlight when I started Atkin's it really kicked off my SADs (Seasonal Affective Disorder). Maybe some added sunlight and outside time would help. Think about all the wonderful things you are doing for your self--but if that doesn't work after a few days I would talk to your doctor and see what he/she recommends. Going to OWL as a trial is always an option too if other things aren't helping. Yay for hubby hiding the scales. I too am a slave to my scales. Fortunately, I don't get super upset over the weight fluxing up to 5 lbs throughout the course of the day. It's my weekly weight that I really judge by.

As for the jello--I absolutely love the sugar free jello and even if you're eating a LOT of it(I do to)as long as that is your only source of aspertame then I personally wouldn't get so upset about it. Maybe you can find something else that you could alternate with to keep from eating quite so much of the jello though. I absolutely love the cream cheese clouds (though they're 1 NC/ bite opposed to the 0 NC.

Well doggie!
ALMOST50 - -Carbquick-My hubby is scouring the city for some now. He wouldn't have made the trip just for that, but we have to go routinely anyway... so while he's there I intend for him to find some! AND, I have him stopping to get me a batch of cracklin's hot and fresh. Course, they'll be cold by the time he gets here, but he won't eat any lol.
SUNKEEPER - I have no idea why I had such a reaction to the Stevia, but it was definitely frightening. Something else is going on because I had a weight gain, which is virtually impossible with 1400 cal and <7 carbs.
However, I'm sure MODERATION would be the key! I'm thinking I'm going to try the Stevia again tomorrow since I seemed to have recovered in 48 hours. While the only "sweet" thing I currently have is jello, I need to find something that will be a new lifelong thing. Hence the trials with Stevia. If that triggers another reaction then I'll wait 2 more days and try the Truvia. Something has to work or I'll go back to the aspartame. I can't imagine living my life with NO sweetener, EVER, at ALL. I'm thinking that's an unrealistic expectation for myself.
MYRNA - That's what I thought!!! I had ditched the soda, why wouldn't the jello be okay? It's just that aspartame. Patience is NOT my strong point. I loooove my jello in the morning when I get back from my 4 miles... it feels like a winner's medal.. lolol
ATRIEL - I don't know... I rely heavily on my ketostix. After 8 years the last time I stopped using them, but, I knew that anytime I went "negative" regardless of how many carbs I ingested I was in for a rough ride on the scales. I lived that way for 20 years without too much fluctuation. I have to admit though I did gain a pound nothing else has happened, no cravings or bloating. I've never been able to have 40 carbs for maintenance. Net carbs I mean. The most I've ever had on maintenance was 55 TOTAL and that was iffy. I always aimed for 50 -there WAS no "net" carb counts when I started in the 80's but that 50 is probably equivalent to about 38 NET carbs. (Basing that on what I ate regularly) SO much has changed in the past 25 years and I did not change with it. I just kept doing what had always worked for me. I had never even tried any of the new Low Carb food items. Everything was just so routine I could do anything and not throw myself out of ketosis, or if I did, I knew I was doing it and compensated with calories. Regardless, I was so brain-set that when I decided to stop-smoking I thought it would be fine. I was sooooooo wrong. Between menopause and no cigarettes I gained 60 pounds in less than 8 months. My blood pressure skyrocketed, my cholesterol was 300 and my glucose was 108. Incredible. While the 35 pound loss from 20 years ago was fairly easy to do, this has been a far different experience.
I AM taking what you said to heart though. I'll trust my instincts on what I know I'm doing and compare my diet to my scales and my ketostix in balance. What you said would make perfect sense based on what happened with the Stevia. I'm trying to wean myself off the Splenda (aspartame) and all aspartame at the request of my family, but cutting out all the Diet Coke has to have overcome what little I get in SF jello! I did buy the Truvia also, which has the erythritol, but have hesitated using it after the Stevia incident.

Okay, all that being said, it occurred to me that I drink unsweetened tea, why couldn't I just made unsweetened jello? So, here goes. I just had a wonderful morning with my grandkids and they have all been fed and the youngest are down for their naps, the older are outside or reading and I'm going to make some UNsweet jello.. LOLOLOL.. the kids think I'm GRAZY (that's GrannycRAZY). Heck, it's worth a try!
Oh, I can't find the recipe thread again... sheesh for a smart girl I'm rapidly losing it! But the Zuccini "dorito's" made me remember a recipe I saw yesterday for microwave sweet potato chips. I went last night and bought more sweet potatoes to try today. I'm thinking the zuccini would be about the same! I swear zuccini grows wild around here (just like the muscadines) and we haul it by the bushels to the food bank and homeless shelters. Nobody can eat that much zuccini..... unless of course, I learn to turn them into chips! Speaking of, have you ever tried Kale chips? They are magnificent.
And, of course, my ticker decides to work again, AFTER I gain a pound and fall out of the yellow. BUT, my challenges actually posted too.. kinda scary but I just logged in through FatSecret.ca and stayed there to do my posts, so whoever posted that (SUNKEEPER I'm sure), thanks, I just kept trying till it worked. MYRNA, try it, please, I want your ticker to work so badly!

Gotta clean up the kitchen before the babies wake... Happy Saturday All.

Checking in.. Hello everyone.. I'm not a newbie but I am an oldie that has been in and out over the past week or so.. Very Happy .. I was missing in action ( no excuses) but the twins had a full Birthday weekend last week and I decided to carry it on into the week! I had an increase in my weight due to my 7 day excursion but the past 2 days I have been honest with myself and this Atkins! Very Happy

So happy that everyone is doing so well! Congrats to everyone that has lost and those hanging in there! Keep on hanging and keep up the good work!
I had came back after the twins bday weekend and had told myself I was back at it! Fell off for a few more days and have to say that I am officially back! Day 2 actually and I'm feeling good! I had gotten so bloated.. Back to the ATkins plan, exercising and uppin' the water intake!

Rachel you already know how I feel about you and I am so proud of you! What a wonderful achievement! You are on your way to much success! Congratulations!

Sunkeeper..your post today is awesome and you always have something inspirational and motivational to say! I'm glad I'm back!

Toni.. Hi Sweets!

Almost50nfab.. I like you are in love with the Carbquik! I purchased my first box over a month ago and I'm going to order another box in the next week or so.. What recipes have you tried? Please share if you don't mind.

NewNormal.. I hope you had a great day and enjoyed a Picnic, sounds nice.

Sugar Free jello with cool whip is one of my favorites and the cream cheese clouds are great! I just made a pumpkin bake for my sweet tooth so maybe next sweet treat will be the clouds! lol lol

Don't mean to leave anyone out intentionally but so much to catch up on..

"ALL OF US ARE IMPORTANT" and we're all on this journey together! Everyone have a great day or as Sunkeeper says a great Low Carb Day

Dorothy - Hey doll!

Carbtracker - Ultimately, if it works for you, it works. Everyone is different. I know people that get knocked out of ketosis with cheese or splenda. I know other people that can eat carrots and it doesn't mess them up.
It's a little amazing how different we all are. Smile

Well, where do I start with this post? Yesterday, first real spring day, temps were hot, not just warm. I spent time power washing our deck and we have a big deck, it was a lot of work. When I was done I figured I needed a reward for a job well done so had myself a beer, and another, and another........ Needless to say the scales were up, bad me, bad bad bad but it was so nice sitting outside, in shorts, soaking up the sunshine and planning the summer out. All in the past now, today is my present, I will behave myself, rofl.

Thinking about the jello problem and how so many like something sweet if you haven't tried the coconut candy yet you really must! Recipe is in the recipe thread, I usually have 2 a day which really takes care of any sugar craving. Love the fact it tastes so good but they are really good for you too, get some fat in while your at it.

Picnics, Mommy and me days, sounds like everyone is working this life style into their day. If you have any go to items be sure to share, we all love new things to try.

Have a great Sun, enjoy the weather where you are and get movin and shakin. Oh, and drink water, it's far better for your head the day after!

Good Morning My Friends! I forgot to tell you, I was eating my salad yesterday and I didn't put any dressing on it...the man at the next table noticed this, and he asked me why....I told him the truth....Low carb and I actually like the different flavors not being masked by dressing! Have a fab sunday. Smile. I think I drank too much water this morning...feel ill! Yuck...

Daily check in here - hope everyone is doing well.

I did load the two carbquik recipes that the hubby says are just right (much experimenting). My family doesn't seem to like it when the carbquik is mixed in with other ingredients like bisquick so I make a base instead. Will be messing around with the pizza and calzone recipes next weekend (if I get through this packing UGH). Haven't gotten the crust quite right on those.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Uggghhh Daily Check in Eh? Here we go 6am. Kids are sleeping and I'm sitting with the one with the 102.6 temp and is throwing up....ah kids! Gotta love it.

Now, so everyone can just burst out in hysterical laughter.... unsweetened Jello? NOT! ROFL.. I TRIED to like it, I really did! Gave myself the big pre first bite pep talk. Talked it up the entire time I choked down the entire 8 oz serving...ROFL ROFL ROFL... Jeez I'm a GOOF! Of course, gelatin doesn't have the same consistency as Jello anyway, but STILL. HOW I wish I could have filmed it! I know you guys would have truly appreciated it. So.
My plan for now is to just eat the dang SF Jello after my 4 miles. Try to work out the Splenda/Stevia/Truvia equation to my advantage and learn to made popsicles from Diet Soda! Yeah, that sounds like an answer!

TONI - Yes, I agree. That's the one thing that is hard about Atkins. Just when you think you know it all, something trips you up. I never had that problem before, but I think, quite honestly, age has something to do with it, or maybe it's menopause. Carrots always threw me a curve. I just wanted so badly to be one of those who could tolerate at least Splenda! I'm just going to keep trying!
BRENDA - Get outside! Even a short drive if it's raining. Or, if you're absolutely stuck inside, do something mentally challenging (anything = puzzles (word or number or picture). Call a friend. Set a small goal, tackle a project, (clean one shelf of a closet). Donate something.
SUNKEEPER - Just like you to keep pondering a problem! While I'm not a sweet craver, that one bit keeps me from straying into starches I think. I have NOT tried the coconut candy, but I'll be headed there just after I get a nap! Sounds divine. I am so smiling at your wonderful sunshiny day activity! Water, indeed! No hangover for sure! I'm watching your ticker!
RACHEL - (another SF Jello aficianado) I'm thinking you are correct. I need to really look at the amount of aspartame in what I'm eating. I quite frankly, think it's the ONLY aspartame I get in the entire day. On the two days I choose to drink a diet coke I'll just eliminate the jello. I'm sure there is more in a diet coke. Cream cheese clouds?? Might need to check that out!
DOROTHY - (another member of the SF Jello Fan Club) I've not lost enough to head to the pumpkin bake, but the clouds are creeping up on the list!! It's time for you to take control, get on the wagon and stay on the wagon. Remember, you are doing this for YOU. You are so worth the effort.
DIALUP - I see you peeking in... also noticing how good yellow looks on you Smile
MYRNA - Myrna, Myrna! Don't give up!! Keep trying FA.ca . It took me a few days of trying and typing and posting and then voila', all of a sudden, two or three days later, while I was posting a weight and a challenge it actually TOOK it. Then, PRESTO!! there was my ticker.
Hah! LOOK at my lovely ticker! Com'on, don't you want one too? You KNOW you do. Try again!

Okay, hope I didn't miss anyone, if I did, it was unintentional! I'm going to try to grab a quick 30 minute nap before everyone starts waking and screaming they're starving! Looks like it's going to be a Charades and Board Games kinda day (raining)..maybe I'll even whip out the playdoh or the Cricut.... I'm gonna miss these little boogers when they go home tonight!
Remember, today is the day you can control. Decide to be in charge. You know you're worth it!
