Chell, that depends on whether you're doing net or total carbs. I can't handle a high amount of carbs or I get stuck. If you're doing net, remember to count after you've subtracted fiber from your food. If you want, you can PM me Smile Welcome~

just checkin in. Went to the diabetic doc today. My A1C (3 month avg blood sugar test) was down to 5.5, which means my sugars are staying between 70 and 110 all day yay! When I started atkins a year ago my A1C was 12.5 with an average sugar of 400.

Mryna, I feel your frustration girl. I'm losing about 1 lb a week too. Hang in there.

Hey all, my desktop is completely borked. So I'm going to be a bit dodgy with the online time until this weekend (hopefully) when I'm able to replace my p.c.

Visiting my friend in the rehab facility is being really draining. I really can't see how it is therapeutic and hope she can come home soon. (Same friend I was visiting in the hospital and shopping for not long ago. On top of her previous kidney failure, she had a heart attack.)

But in the meantime I'm checking out shops and restaurants in that part of town. Ate at an Indian buffet today that had nice vegetables, fish in coconut curry and tandoori chicken that I could safely eat. There was a walking shoe store next door so I went in and tried on a few styles but didn't buy. And next door to that was a beauty supply and I got dark blue polish. I put it on one finger then realized I have a meeting with a career counselor tomorrow and took it off. Dark fuschia hair and blue nails probably not looked kindly upon. LOL Blue nails tomorrow afternoon though for sure.

Let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion, honor and humility, mirth and reverence within you.

Ha RowanfairI hope your friend gets well enough to go home soon. Shopping sounds fun, blue nail polish wow go girl x
Toni, our pc was playing up too, so s l o w ! I have an apple mac lap top that I am finally getting used to Smile
Dial up well done on the blood sugars yey!
chell53, welcome, try for 20 net carbs with around 14 from veges, green veges are very low in carbs. You can change your diary settings to count net carbs. Net carbs are total carbs minus the fibre.
Myrna you are always having fun with George!

Doing well here, the baby shower was really great, my daughter will not have to buy baby clothes or supplies for about 3 years! I was exhausted though, over 30 people attended.

2 grandchildren are coming tomorrow for a sleep over, so excited here, I love them coming Smile

Good morning everyone, welcome chell53.

Rowan, good thinking not to go with blue nails till after your interview me thinks.

Toni, if you have to get a new pc make sure you get a female one! Check it out before you buy, you'll be happy you did. The male ones are to temperamental.

Jen, way to go, your living proof of how good this WOE is for us all, keep up the great work and don't worry about the speed.

Myrna, George is so happy to be spending so much time with you I'm sure. What the hey, if people talk, they talk. Just let it roll of your back.

So happy the shower was a success Linda, babies are very expensive so any help is good when it comes to looking after them. There is just nothing better than having grandkids for a day or so, mine are all getting to big now to do that but certainly did enjoy it while I could.

Still keeping on keeping on for me, have pretty much stayed at the same weight now for last few days hardly moving the scale which is fine. Have lots more learning to go yet of coarse but I'm getting there.

Hope everyone has a great Tues. Get yourself moving and a shaking and drink that water!

Well... .I had typed this wonderful post with notes to everyone.... and Voila' FS ate it! I thought I had learned better. Regardless, good day to everyone.
Glad the shower went well.
LOVE that one pound bounce you are doing Sunkeeper!
Jaime I know that address will come. Stop dogging the mailbox
ROWAN - fushia and blue? Depends on the job I guess Smile
Sending a prayer for your friend.
MYRNA- Slug? better a slug than a yo-yo. I've not been over 8 carbs in weeks and under my 1400 RDI virtually every day, yet today I am up 1 1/2 lbs? HUGE WORRY... could it be my SF Jello? I certainly hope not. I've given up my beloved diet coke (down from 3 Route 44 Sonics a day to 2 Large a week) and am drinking only water and the occassional hot green tea.

NEW NORMAL - I can't ever handle 50 carbs. Just me I guess, but on 50 I would absolutely gain unless I was under 600 cals and for me that just doesn't work for any length of time. Years ago I could switch from low carb to low cal and back without any trouble, but I'm not chancing it any time soon. (Basically it required dropping to 500 cal/day for 5 days before switching to a 1600/cal/day without carb limits.
TONI - I feel your pain.. lol. Unfortunately I have maxed out my harddrive storage, and three huge external harddrives. I'm working on cloud storage at the moment, but it's slow going as I have no space. I didn't prepare for this kind of problem when I started working and now I've gotten myself into a corner.... it's going to take a bit to get myself out.
ATRIEL - you won't have any trouble with your presentation or getting your sale stuff together. One step at a time Smile

TENKILOS - To me, the best thing in this life is kids. My oldest just turned 39 and my baby is 14. We are blessed to almost always have a grandkid or two hanging around. And if ours aren't here my nieces and neighbors always seem willing to share theirs!! haha I guess I'm too much of a kid myself, and don't care if I never grow up. I still love getting "caught" by the train, love parades, blowing bubbles, coloring, board games, charades, playing in the pool and infinite other things that kids enjoy. Around here there are always kids for me to play with, and a baby or two to cuddle... ah, heaven.
Okay, If I've missed anyone it's FS's fault. I had forgotten to type it up in an email then copy it here, so of course, it's been eaten again... hope it gives FS indigestion!!
Great day all,

Good Morning All....I'm not feeling so much like a slug this morning....Thank you all for the kind words....I had the best compliment yesterday! I hadn't seen one of my customers in about a year, and he came in yesterday and he asked me if I was jogging 5 miles a day...and I said, "why do you ask that"? and he says....CUZ THERE IS LIKE HALF OF YOU! If I liked him, I would have kissed him! LOL!Wink

Anyway...I was down a little more this feeling a little better about things...

Back later....I have ketosis headache this morning!

Morning ladies, I'm back to the FS! Very Happy and back to the plan! Going to do a little revision/recap of my journal.. I've been gone for a few days, so much activity!.. It's been a long weekend.
Friday started the Twins 5th Bday celebration. Hiking in Solstice Canyon in Malibu. Saturday we went to 2 birthday parties.. one was at the park and the other was an actual Street Block Party - so the DIET went straight to the mud!! Sad
Sunday we had the Twins Birthday party so there was alot of celebrating going on and a lot of FOOD! Yes, I endulged, overate, enjoyed, and stuffed myself with good food and cake!
It was a full weekend and I don't want an invite for another party for a while! lol lol lol.. 3 parties in one weekend is a bit much! heheeee.

Today I am back with a 5 pound increase which was expected and I know exactly what I have to do to get it back under control! So no crying and being upset about the increase, just back to the GRIND!
I'm in the newest Induction Challenge so that will keep me focused as well..

Everyone sounds like they have been doing a wonderful job! I know I have missed alot of activity..Hello to the newbies!!

Congratulations Dialup75 on getting to that half way mark! It's a struggle and you did it! Very Happy

Sunkeeper always a joy to read your uplifiting posts! Sounds like the maintenance plan you're on is working good for you! Stay sweet!

Toni.. take Sunkeeper advice about the male pc..

Jaime..You're a trooper and hang in there - it gets a little easier as time passes.

Don't mean to neglect or look over anyone but I know I have missed alot and trying to catch up would be a miss..

Everyone have a great day and back to this LOW CARBING FOR ME!!

Hi everyone! I am a newbie...been here 3 days Smile I have been trying Atkins for almost a week and found the diet tracker to be an A-MA-ZING help with reguard to percentages and total CHO count.

I am so thankful for the support of others as mh DH is acting kind of ridiculous about it ("you can't just eat sausage and cheese"... Um no, genius, you didn't see the big salad I ate for lunch or the veggies in my crustless quiche I had for breakfast! Shut up and go eat your amazing crusty bread that is making my mouth water as I recollect it Winkand so it is fabulous to hear about the "ketone headach" lol and relate.

Anyway, here's to the journey!

Hey Brenda - welcome. Your DH statement had to make me laugh I have been able to stick to the plan for a whopping two days but my hubby is out of town for a week....than it will be back to one beer and a slice of pizza won't kill you. If you do get to craving the bread there is an oopsie recipe that gives you some relief otherwise check out Julian Bakery low carb bread...yummy but spendy

Have a good Tuesday

Hello everyone!

Been a little crazy here,Shock mom not eating, opened my home to my grand daughter, her boyfriend and their adorable new baby. Trying to get them a license, G.E.D. and a job! My day care went through our annual inspection today and I am supposed to go on vacation finally this Saturday in place of the cancelled Costa Rica trip from February. Could really use a vacation. This time Miami Beach and Bahamas. Hope I actually get there.

Myrna - I'm the yoyo, Rolling Eyes rather be a slug, slow and steady. Keep it up.

BBD5 - There's always something for me a party, dinner out, vacation or just getting carried away with the hummus. I still haven't learned moderation. Doubt I guess I just have to stay away from certain things. Seems like just a taste sets me off. Will I ever be able to increase my carbs without going overboard??

My 56th birthday is coming up, my daughter has a surprise set for me tomorrow. Bet it will include dinner - here we go again. Confused

Good morning everyone! It seems that everybody is doing ok. I had another small weight loss ths morning,it's been 7 days in a row but I know it's water because a week ago I was stuck. Hope this weight loss continues.
I'd like to thank you all for being here and showing me the right track. Thank you for the support too. Unfortunately I don't have much time with an 1,5 year old baby, so just a wish to all of us "to finally achieve our goals this summer!"

A happy Wed to everyone, hope your mid week finds you all content in your goals, losses and meal plans. Looks like many have found the right combo, good for you!

Myrna, has the slug in your become a turtle already? Amazing how we can morph ourselves just by thinking we can. You have done a fabulous job, don't ever give up on yourself, it just takes time, lots and lots of time, but if you look at the big picture of where you were and where you are now that turtle becomes a jack rabbit and the slug has been stepped on long ago.

Jen, I hope you gave yourself a big pat on the back, 1/2 way, yippy! You've figured out the combination, keep applying it and that ticker will zoom to the right. (Did you notice Myrna's happy dance has shrunk? It use to be ( \ ) ( | ) ( / ), she's already down to (\)(|)(/), wow!)

Ah, Dear Dorothy, so happy your back on the wagon with the rest of us. No point in crying or whining, give life a kick in the butt when it gets in your way of the goals you've set. You fall down you just get back up, again. You can do it, no doubt in my mind.

Hey Brenda, glad you found your way over here. These people prove that while it's not an easy peasy journey, it can be achieved, it can be fun and you, like them, will be a success if YOU decide to be. My husband wanted to know if oopsie buns, strawberries and whip cream were on my plan to which I replied, look at me and look at you, I think I know what I'm doing. He's a man, you have to forgive them for not always putting their brain in motion before they put their mouth in gear.

Almost50, see above for husband comments, men. Why is it so many of them would benefit just as much as we do from eating right but they don't, yet they seem to think they can comment on what's best? Guess support wasn't in Webster's yet when they attended school? (note to self, go to store and buy a new Webster's, highlight support in hopes DH can find it in there)

Rdrun, you've waited a long time for this vacation, sure hope no freak storms blow up! You'll have a ball, life is fun but sometimes it's like weight loss, you have to wait a spell and work a bit more to get where you want to go. The vacation will be well worth the wait and extra effort you put in to get there, again, it's like weight loss, it's worth the extra effort too cause in the long run it could very well be that you get a few more vacations in before your ticket to the pearly gates is pulled.

Sia, congrats on the loss, every one of them is a biggie and shows how hard your working to be a better you. It's really inspiring to see a young mother realize how important it is to be healthy and be there for your child for a very long time to come. Good job girl, keep it up.

A bit less in and a bit more umph to get some of the build up out equals lower numbers for everyone. Challenges every where, people that attempt to side track us or the devil on your shoulder telling you one bite won't hurt. None of them are worth it to me, nobody is more important, I need to be accountable to myself. I'm worth the extra effort and I will be successful no matter what or who is thrown in my way. I bet your worth it too!

Keep smiling, it makes everyone wonder what your up to though they can't quite figure it out!

Good morning everyone! Ended up with late meetings yesterday into the evening which shot my plans for my dinner but still made it work. They served sandwiches so I took off the bread and skipped the chips and cookies. FINALLY saw a bit of drop this am so I'm pleased. Have a great day!

Sunkeeper you are cracking me up - I will need to follow your directions - maybe if I put it on top of the pizza box he could locate it. Still not sure if he will see it though - he can't ever seem to locate the dishwasher and all his dishes end up right above it on the counter LOL

Happy Wednesday to all of us "losers" Smile
