Hey all - I have been scarce this week and hope everyone is doing well. Congratulations to everyone that have seen some loses and welcome to those that are new.

I am still checking the mailbox so I can get the official address and write to my daughter. There are Mom's that started getting their form letters yesterday so I am hoping that I will get mine today.

The scale finally moved a little for me, but I know I have lost more inches. I have not done an official measure to log it but I did do a quick measure of hips, chest, waist and a thigh....I have lost about an inch or half an inch in each of these areas. So keep it up buddies! The scale does not always tell the truth and even when it may not be moving there are changes going on with your body. This needs to be a life change and just keep reminding yourself of that. You will get there!

Ok, this is crazy, where is everyone? Not a message posted since 3:06 yesterday afternoon, that's gotta be a record!

Angie has been gone for a month now, Toni is only here now and again and Jaime, you've been MIA for way to long. Sure do miss all the old faithfuls and hoping they are just busy with the spring stuff, hurry back guys.

So Myrna, in other words you woke the ticker fairy up, she's been in a long winters sleep? I just sent them a not so nice report after again getting the stupid error message trying to weigh in, no journal entry, nothing, just a couple of numbers. I ended it by saying I guess you get what you pay for on here. lol Love your bunny but please don't give that axe to the little turds, wouldn't that cause havoc? You'd have to run for your life but hey, think of the calories you could burn with them chasing you with that weapon.

As for me I'm still plugging along merrily. We had beautiful weather mid week and have now gone back to winter, again. Snow flurries today and it's the end of April which is just crazy. It has to warm up at some point though right, we need to get our 3 days of summer in somewhere so we wait. April brings rain, I get that, so many places have had just a bit to much, way to much so I don't think I should complain, it could be worse. Sure looking forward to getting outside and working like a mad man though.

Hope your weekend finds lots of good things to eat, to do and maybe even relax a little. Mon will be here before we know it, will the scales show you behaved?

Myrna, I'm use to weekend desertion, it's the week days now that it's happening is very scary!

That's going to be fun, don't give the boys to much soap to clean with or you'll be cleaning up after they clean. Fun stuff is always great, spend as much time laughing with them as you can now cause they grow up and are gone in a heart beat.

Hi ladies Smile I've been lurking but since there isn't much activity, thought I'd jump in and say hi. FINALLY dropped under 170 this am (my scale has been giggling at me) and went through my closet and removed what doesn't fit or I don't like...doesn't leave a lot and I need to go shopping but it's a good problem to have. Have a great day! - Kellie

Hi all,
I'm around and I do read daily, I'm just super swamped at the moment preparing for an independent artist show case that I was invited to.
I have to do a 20 minute talk plus get together and have ready for sale a ton of perfume stuff. (OMG!)

It looks like everyone is doing well. Smile

I'll try to post more regularly.

Welcome newnormal, glad you jumped in and congrats on being under 170, feels really good doesn't it? I just did a major shopping last week which was so much fun, still am going to need to go again though as the money is like the fabric on the clothes before we lost all the weight, it doesn't stretch nearly as far as we wish it would!

Hope to see you posting more often, the more the merrier.

Toni, I guess you can have a bit of a pass being it's business, happy that things are still going strong in the perfume sales, that's great news.

Aw, Sunkeeper, don't feel lonely.

Kellie, gratz on being under 170! I love the closet cleaning and look forward to being able to do it again someday.

It is a beautiful day here in Northern California and I should really figure out something to do out-of-doors.

I will try to check inmore often.I have been spending a few moments with the Compulsive Eating and Eating Disorders Group.Since I have never been able to keep the weight off once in 30 years I would say I have a real problem and it is emotional eating. I don't know if the Zone Diet which I am following is truly a low carb diet, although it has been categorized as such. The first 2 weeks Dr. Barry Sears recommends no whole grains, or breads but after those 2 weeks the choices are broader. It is all about balancig the hormone reactions in the body. Anyway I am off to a rocky start, but have a better understanding of what I am doing now with the Protein Blocks and the Carb and Fat Blocks.
Stay strong, stay focused.

Good morning all. Hope the snow is totally gone for another year, am so tired of looking out the window and seeing that white stuff. We want sunshine, green grass and bugs flying, not snow!

Glad to see a few people moving about, it does get lonely when there are only a couple of us posting. We need to encourage, we need to hear what's happening, it's all about having fun and learning so we never go back to the our old ways.

Still staying close to goal and still trying to decide if that's the final goal, lol. It's been fun having a few weeks off to just coast but now maybe it's time to up the auntie just a bit and go for another 5, can't hurt, right?

I made Rowan's cauliflower bacon salad for dinner last night with a few additions. I threw everything from the frying pan in after cooking the bacon, added a bit more fat to it plus flavor. Also a splash of heavy cream to the mayo to loosen it up. It was quite good, next time I'll add a pkg of stevia as well, it needs a bit more zip, more like the broccoli bacon salad of yesteryear that everyone makes which I think the sweetness would be more like. Sunkeeper approved though just the way it is, a nice change for a side dish.

Here's hoping everyone has a great Sun. Low carb works, I'm proof, stick to your guns today and you'll see results tomorrow.

Good Morning All....

Newnormal...don't just lurk...jump in! It's been a little quiet lately....like Sunkeeper says...WHAT GIVES???

Boys were fairly good yesterday, so we'll venture out after I have some coffee...even if it's just some shopping.....I made tuna salad for lunch yesterday, and 6 months ago, noone would eat it....they ate it all....ON CELERY STOCKS! Ok, I have to tell the truth...(they loved it, but) they would have eaten it on bread, except the cat demolished the half a loaf on the counter....bag and bread looked like shredded wheat! BAD KITTY!!!!

I'll be back this evening! LOW CARBS EVERYONE!

Good morning! Sun is starting to come out, getting ready to make a coffee and peruse the sunday paper. Scale held steady this am but didn't go up so that's a win. Maybe tomorrow. I'm noticing a pattern the past few months of 3 weeks of loss (maybe 2.5-4 lbs a week) and then one week of a solid "NO" where the scale is giggling. Then it breaks again. I'm going on week 2 of what should be losing if it keeps it up. I end up averaging about 8 lbs a month so I'm ok with it.

Have a great day!

BTW, my tracker isn't showing correctly. Shows what it was in Jan when I started. Going to remove it - AGAIN...

Glad you like the cauliflower salad, Sunkeeper! I cooked 3 heads of cauliflower to make a big batch for the potluck today. I may have overdone it, but that means I'll have extra cauliflower for other things.

The day is beautiful and heading toward warm. I need to go buy propane for the grill. My friend, the butcher, is bringing lamb and pork and beef, he says. (He called me yesterday to discuss which marinades I could eat.) I am looking forward to the lamb in olive oil and oregano for sure!

Have a lovely, low carb Sunday!

Thinner, I am an emotional, obsessive compulsive eater. I have been on phase 1 New Atkins for the last year, and doing well with 42 lbs lost and 43 to go.

Good for you dialup!! I am happy that Atkins is working for you! Atkins did not work for me. I was on it for 2 years the last time.I feel strongly that I am on the right track with the Zone diet. It is something I can live with, without having to count net carbs and rungs. I feel better just in the little time I have been on it. I was off to a rocky start the first week or so, but now that I am more sure of what I am doing things are going much smoother. Alittle education and practice goes along way. I do not have the cravings that I had in the first week but I do have the emotional triggers popping up all over.Everyone have a great day!!!

Just a quick check-in but a very happy one! I weighed-in this morning and it showed 84.3! A number I haven't seen for years.
My results for almost 1 month are about 4,5 kilos loss with a lot of bad days too. It's the first time I can really see results!
Hope things will continue like that.
Have a nice day!
