Happy Birthday today to Carbtracker!!!!

I am a very good wife and mother, I took my hubby and boys to CICI'S Pizza and I waited patiently while they ate and came home to make my bullet! I hope smelling the pizza was worth it! I know it was!

Sunkeeper and Rachel well done, was very hApPy reading about your successes! Well done Myrna on resisting temptation!

I have been busy getting some paintings ready for a new restaurant opening next Saturday-we are hanging the works Wednesday am so I have been working hard.

Weight wise gained a couple of kilos so lowered the carbs this week till they are gone.

A happy Mon morning to all my low carbin buddies, am hoping it's going to be a banner week for everyone. Your right Dorothy, seems all are making progress when they eat right, drink right and exercise more and if you don't then your left behind.

I'm still fighting this fluid, got all the rings off last night but only 2 back on this morning. Don't think my body thinks much of alcohol any more, been a while since it's had to deal with much of it and while it didn't get that much it sure didn't like it. Does this mean my drinkin days are behind me?????? Geesh, just when you get the kids out of the house so the party can start the body gives out, how is that fair?

Linda, I really think this maintenance thing is going to be far harder than the losing, at least we had that routine down pat and now it's like starting all over again. What can we have and what isn't going to work or how much of it won't work. We have a long way to go yet, won't be leaving any time soon that's for sure as we pop up and down to get the numbers working in our favor.

Hope you all stick to your guns in your quest to be the very best you can be and look just awesome. It's hard work but your worth ever minute it takes to achieve it.

Just checkin in. Spent the weekend with mom and had a blast. My younger brothers friend Kevin came over and we grilled out. I think he was both grossed out and confused by my flax bread hamburger buns and porkskins. I asked him if he wanted to try the flax bread and he said NO! Ewwww! lol

Happy Monday Everyone!
Nothing like a new week.

MYRNA LOUISE: Congrats on your trip to CiCi's. I learned over 20 years ago to just GO. Sometimes I ordered a diet soda, sometimes I just visited and enjoyed the company of friends and family, but i NEVER quit going. Cutting yourself off socially because of a different way of doing things is NOT good for my mental health. Fast forward 20 years and almost every place has something you can eat. I guess for CiCi's it would just be the salad. We don't have one here anymore, but before Rita they would "serve" you grilled chicken on a pizza pan with nothing else.. lol. They couldn't just give it to you because of the health code or something, but they would see to it that you got it. Actually, if memory serves correctly, they would serve you anything they had that was precooked. I just promptly dumped mine into a small salad from their salad bar.

By now you guys have figured out I'm OCD. I don't have any trouble sticking 100% to the plan ONCE i've started. It's the getting started, but, guess what??? The closest thing I've ever had to a faltering came this morning. Over what? Okay, everybody either LAUGH or GROAN....drumroll.... OATMEAL!!!! Plain, old-fashioned oats I made for my kid's breakfast. I do love oatmeal, and for a split.... 2 minutes.... I almost caved in. Grabbed a glass of water and chugged it. Amazing, oatmeal of all things. I promised myself a nice omelete or eggs benedict after my 4 miles this morning to get past it. Sheeeshhh.

SUNKEEPER and LINDA
From my experience 20 years ago, maintenance was like learning to walk. You stand, you toddle, you fall. Before you know it you find your balance and you walk effortlessly. For me, though, it became a cyclic trend of low carb to low cal to low carb. It worked for me for over 20 years. You WILL find what works best for you to have a happy, healthy life. You are THERE, you've already suffered the bumps on the head and the learning to crawl. You've GOT this!

DIALUP: I just wanted to say I was admiring your ticker. You're doing an awesome job! I'm always happy when someone turns down my offer to share my porkskins!

I have decided (as of last night) that I am going to have to cut the calorie intake. I'm sure it's age, cause it can't be Atkins. I guess cause I'm a little older this time Smile it's harder to make the body respond. I was just expecting it to go a bit faster. Anyone wanting to dive into my calendar and voice their opinion would be welcomed!
Here's to the start of another great week!

Good morning all - I feel certain the movement I saw on the scale was ruined over the weekend, but it was well worth it and I will work hard to reverse it. It was my daughter's last weekend home and we sat up late and had chocolate chip cookies from the oven. We walked around the mall...we went out to dinner Saturday night (I was good) and then saw The Lord of Dance broadway show. Had a lazy Sunday and watched a movie. We all went down town yesterday to walk around and then the Melting Pot. The chocolate fondue was great and it was worth it to enjoy it with her. We then took her to the hotel and hung around with her for awhile. So today not sure what is going on. I am going to get on the phone with her recruiter because he called yesterday morning and said she might go back to the hotel tonight and then leave out from airport tomorrow morning. She has to get her physical done again and then blood drawn and urinalysis. I was set to meet her at MEPS and see her final swearing in but now not sure. Then meet her at the airport.

I did get my challenge created Busting my butt with my Navy bootcamp daughter..lol. She saw me setting it up and I think it made her feel good. I posted a link for the Navy PFT standards (by age) and have my goals for 1-1/2 miles, curl ups and push ups. I told her that I would add in some of the exercises she put in a binder for me before she left. So I will probably pick a few to do each week.

So this time I can say that any damage I did over the weekend was well worth it as the memories will be awesome to hold on to. And I am sure that I will reverse them in short order with my new challenge.

Congrats to everyone that has lost or maintained! Keep on keeping on my FS friends and thank you all for your support during this time for me. I appreciate each and everyone of you.

Sunkeeper - drinking days over, say it isn't soooooo. LOL

Jaime - great weekend with your daughter, sounds awesome.

I had a nice weekend. Looking forward to a productive week. Today is my parent's 63rd wedding anniversary. Wish I could teleport to San Antonio and take them out to dinner.

That would be nice Rowan, your so lucky to still have them to celebrate with even if it is only a phone call. Drinkin days better not be over or I'm going to have to rethink this WOE for sure!

I've had a terrific day. DH gave me a bunch of money in a card for my birthday with a note saying go get some clothes for little people and that's exactly what I did this morning. I'm all decked out for summer so bring it on..... Don't think I've ever been this well dressed before so I hope I don't have to wait to long to get wearing everything. Boy, is there ever nice stuff out there this year, perfect year for it, not all the stuff that clings to you like a glove which was all you could buy the past couple of seasons and we all know you can't wear that stuff when your BMI is on over load.

Came home, had lunch then took the dogs outside and we started the yard work, 1 wheel barrow load down, 500 or so more to go yet. We've still got bits of snow where it was drifted so I can't get to silly about it but the beds by the house are clear and dry for now, suppose to get rain for the rest of the week which will get rid of all the snow and water the plants now that there isn't an inch of crud on top of them all.

Yup, it's a good day, great way to start a new week. Wonder what I can do tomorrow?????

Jaime, great memories, you'll have those forever.

Gina, I cut my calories down and it made a really big difference. I think what they set for you is way to high, I redid mine to 1400 a day and tried to stay below that. Also try upping your fat intake, I think that helps as well.

Dialup, some people just don't know what they are missing. Everyone I've given the flax crackers to has really liked them. I put lots of garlic in them, they are soooo good.

Sure hope everyone else is having a good day, you can see more and more signs of spring out there, it has to get better from here on in, right?

A good Tues morning my low carbin friends. Just popped in to report I have this maintenance thing down pat.....problem being I'm maintaining at the wrong number! 3 days now stuck in the same place, what the heck is going on now?????? Amazes me how there are times our bodies just will not co-operate no matter what we do, gets frustrating but if we can push through it we come out the other side, eventually.

Jaime, hope you made more memories last night, life and it's never ending changes.

Appears we're in for rain all week now, could even get more snow if you can believe that towards the end of the week. Guess I'll be spending the majority of my time with Wally. Not to worry, some day soon he'll be lonely and I can get in a good work out outside, it's only a matter of time much like weight loss. Gee, appears life is all about time when you think about it.

Here's hoping your day is low carb, you get some exercise in of some sort and you drink lots and lots and lots of water to flush everything you don't need out!

Good morning. Oh Sunkeeper - I hear you about the frustration. I broke down and weighed in at 1.4 lbs up. Things are going in the wrong direction and I am just too conflicted about what diet I'm following. Gah. Oh well, off to volunteer cataloging in a small library for a couple of days. That will make me feel more useful than just scanning the job boards por nada.

Good morning everyone!
Sunkeeper- I appreciate your posting and this thread very much! thanks! You might Google Butcher's Broom and see if that's something you can use. A capsule always gets rid of stubborn water weight. It's kind of an emergency thing for me. You might see if avoiding corn or wheat works, it might be TMI but I can virtually see my Mom's ankles puff up if she eats either. If I'm out of line please ignore, as I'm new here.
jaime30024- Is this your first trip up that road? I'm on about number ten, but just 2 of them different times. I have say though that none of mine went in the military, they went to college and then far away for work. It has to be different.

Ya weight is up a 1.5 lbs. but it's down from where I started, so I'm counting it as progress Smile.
Because my weight is up I had egg whites for breakfast, with salsa, better than I thought it would be. I have count calories and carbs, I tried just carbs and failed.
I won't completely cut out fats, that way lies danger, but just a meal here and there to get back on track.

Welcome Katred12!
I would love to hear how counting carbs failed. I've never known it not to work, but evidently it didn't for you as you are now counting carbs and calories. I'm having a harder go of it this time and had just decided to reduce the calories too, but I was losing.

SUNKEEPER: I read your post when I got up and was laughing so hard that I could NOT reply before I had to go do my 4 miles..lololol. I chuckled most of the way! You are Rowan are a hoot! I can't even get down 20 pounds and my weight history looks like a roller coaster. If I only weighed once a week it would be depressing. You are THERE. It's just fluctuation. I'll be so happy when I'm having to worry about maintenance again!! AND Sunkeeper, I am going to redo my calorie count. When I did Atkins before I was managing 2500 calories and the pounds were falling off. I guess this time has something to do with age. My fat intake is pretty high, and I think I'm doing better now that I'm watching my water intake, but decreasing the calories is a must. Also, my BP flew to 175/119 yesterday and scared the daylights of of me. Don't know what that was about.
I guess Spring yardwork is a seasonal thing for some of you guys. I'm 58 and have seen snow twice. Once I had to get up in the middle of the night. We are blessed with year round yard work. We never stop cutting grass or weeding, it's just that sometimes we get to rake leaves too!

Hello all,
I'm crazy busy right now but I wanted to stop in to say, "hi!".
Hopefully things will lighten up enough soon so that I can participate more regularly.
