We have chosen a path in the road...sometimes we will hit a bump, trip on a rock, miss a corner, and slam right into a mountain....but if we just back up a little, we can get right back on the path!

Good Morning and hello to everyone! Welcome to the newbies! I haven't been around too much, I was very sick last week (stomach virus/flu) and woke up this morning with a head cold! Sad

I want to say Congratulations to everyone and their losses! Myrna, 3 pounds is excellent no matter how long it took! Keep up the good work! Don't want to exclude anyone just so much to catch up on, I know I'm not going to be able to do it! So as I said previously when I say EVERYONE/NEWBIES I DO MEAN EVERYONE! Very Happy Wink
Posting this from my journal:
Failed miserably last week during both challenges.. I was sick not able to consume too much of anything (liquids, foods, etc) .. Weighed in this morning but weight back to 3/11 weigh in, back into the 160's Very Happy Need to work on staying here and decreasing..

Off to a better start today for this week.. Mildly over the stomach virus/flu now I have a head cold - head congestion, cough, headache, etc!! Sad Will fight thru this sickness.. It seems like the twins were walking viruses and carrying every child's sickness from their school, and brought it home to me last week (lol lol lol)!! I need to take better care of myself.
Kids home from school this week - so I will be more than busy!

Anyway, Happy Monday! Off to a better start, I WILL get back to my exercise today - only exercised once or twice last week. BACK TO THE GRIND!
Have a great day!

By the Way.. I've missed the chatter! Very Happy

Hey all checking in here. Tom is slowly trying to make his appearance and that is okay because I think the 'funk' that I have been in was partly due to that PMS and at least if TOM is here then the PMS is subsiding. This WILL be a better week for me. Went to the store and armed with a fresh supply of spinach (a HUGE container) for salads and eggs. Also, got a bag of cabbage shredded (that is my cheaters way of making steamed cabbage)...lol...to try to continue to increase my veggies...I was doing poorly in that area and had gotten off track of it. Things are busy around here. Two weeks from today and my baby will be gone....we are getting ready for her party this weekend. It will be catered in and not much low carb...but it is what she wants...Filipino. So I will have to plan to have some snacks before the food gets here so I am not too hungry. Actually though the Tocino is meat and the Bistik is meat and onion...I won't eat the rice or the pancit and may have one lumpia so shouldn't be too bad. Got to go today and get her cake ordered.

I hope everyone has a great day. Congratulations to those that have lost and welcome to those that are new to the group. I hope that everyone that has been fighting off a bug or just being sick is feeling better!

Good morning, low carb friends. My anniversary was fab but my weight is up a bit. I'm not too concerned. I'm more cranky about the fact that, for the second week in a row, there isn't a single job that I can really apply for listed on any of the job sites I check. Bah. How I wish I could just retire and stop banging my head against this job market.

Gratz to Myrna and others who have had losses!

Just joining this group.
I do hope this group is active.
Started out at 215 Pounds.
Weighed in at 154.4 Pounds this morning.
I am happy with this weight.
Lost my weight counting calories here.
Trying low carbing to get more sugar out of my diet.
I have been refined sugar free for over a year; but I felt I needed to get more sugar out of my diet, the things that turn to sugar when I chew them up and swallow.
Read "The New Atkins For a New You" Book, Read "Why we get fat and What to do about it" by Gary Taubes. Downloaded and read the "Cruise Control Diet" By James Ward.
After all that reading, I had to give it a try.
Will I stay with it? Time will tell!!
I did it about a week and a half and quit.
decided it was not for me.
Been back at it almost two weeks.
Not much weight loss but I sure have more energy!

Good Afternoon!

Welcome to the new low carber's and congrats to the losers! This weekend seemed to be a busy one for everybody.

Jamie - I can't imagine my daughter going anywhere. You must be full of different emotions - and also bursting with pride.

Rowanfair - Good luck on the job search, I wish I could retire too but with today's economy, it looks like it may be a long time off.

For me, I spent the weekend with a stomach virus, had to stay away from mom. I would just peek in her room and waive. The caregivers had to try and explain why I wasn't in to see her but so far so good.

The good thing is that today was a weigh in day, lost 2 pounds down to 224. Very Happy Don't know if it will stay that way but it was sure nice for now. After this weekend, week, month !!! I needed a pick me up!

I wanted to thank everyone for the support they have given me, not only in weigh loss but for my situation with my mother. We see another orthopedic specialists this Wednesday - hope all goes well.

Luck to those who want it, health to those that need it and blessings all around!

High everyone,

Sorry it's been awhile since I checked in and did my food or exercise journal.

I have lost 4 lbs since my last check in which isn't that good since its been about 2 months. My husband has lost a lot of weight though.

I'm starting everything back up today after all spring is here and summer is around the corner.

My weight

Dec 27. - 215 lbs
June 7. 198 lbs
June 14 195 lbs
June 21 193 lbs
Feb 12 205 lbs
Feb 14 200 lbs
Feb 21 197.8 lbs

Mini goal loss 6 lbs a month

Long term goal : Get down to 160 lbs by the end of summer and to be able to keep it off.
Reward new wardrobe.

I hope everyone had a good day 😃

Hey everyone,

Just a quick check in. Doing well on the LC front, weight's stayed steady due mostly to being slack and not getting enough veges in. No gains tho so I'm happy!

Will read through all the posts I missed later. Smile

Good morning everyone.

Doing a happy dance for Linda, great job girl! How nice to see someone complete their task and have a big smile. Now we all get to see what maintenance is all about to learn the ins and outs of yet another part of the process.

Big hi to all the returning veterans and the new people just starting low carbing. It works, just take a look around at all the melted pounds from the members here and think how many there are that aren't here..... geesh, talk about climate change, kilos and pounds melting sometimes at an alarming rate world wide! Lots of experienced people who can help at a moments notice if needed, they've all been where you are, well beaten path to that goal at the end so hop on with the rest of us, it's great to have you join us on the journey. The more the merrier skipping, laughing and enjoying our way to the finish.

Good Morning (mostly) girls! Welcome to all joining us or returning! (Sound like a pastor?) I've been in the background here of late. Just busy, busy and then...well then there is March Madness! How about FGCU??? What an inspiration those boys are. Love them.
Linda - congrats on Goal. Like Sunkeeper, I will be interested to know what maintenance life is like. I have realized that I will probably be in the same boat of keeping my cals down. The upside is that I have grown used to it.
Ra Ra - ten pounds! Yay! You rockin' this low-carb thing! It has to be gratifying after not losing on your previous diet. Seriously gratifying. Your body likes this WOE, stick to it girl!

I am down another pound this week. It is true that oil and water don't mix. Increasing water and fat make the weight go down -hehehe. Ya'll have a good one. ♥ Darri
