Sunkeeper you are doing awesome!! 3 weeks = 21 days= 504 hours. You are going to knock that last 5 out with time to spare!!! You are an inspiration to the rest of us.

Angie you too inspire us all! 60 lbs is quite the accomplishment, a BIG congrats to you. I also noticed the notifications...love it. Very helpful.

There are so many more comments and congratulation and don't give ups I need to make. I read a lot with little time to comment... you know that whole wife, mom, employee thing seems to require soooo much of my precious time.

I'm off to do the job thing now. Have a great Thursday!

Quick check in. Allergies are killin me this morning, of course that makes my blood sugar go up and definitely makes it harder to lose weight. Everyone is doing great! love the notification section!

Just making a quick stop by. As some of you have noticed, I have been missing for about 2 weeks. I am still going to be very sparse for the next 2-3 weeks. But I'm going to try to be a bit better about checking in. Everything on the food front is still going well. I'm not losing massive amounts of weight but I am still losing and that's what counts. I am now working part time and interning full time--very busy schedule. I am sure that everything will evening out during the first week of April. So sorry I haven't been able to keep up with the chatter. I'm going to try to get caught up on all of my reading this weekend. I'm now almost 20 pages behind (oh help me trying to read all of that-but I will do it).

rchap I have a cousin with celiac's and we believe her father (who died very young) probably had it and went undetected. I can definitely tell that I have some intolerance going on...the experience that I had in December...I had been carb free (and gluten freen) for two months and we went away for the weekend. One meal I let myself indulge and before we got back to our room I was already miserable and my stomach was so bloated and swollen...even DH was shocked at how swollen it was. The rest of the weekend I felt yucky and probably mid way into the new week. Definitely not worth it.

Kiddy Congrats on the loss! I know it is just a pound but hey we didn't gain it over night and you are moving in the right direction. If you haven't measured then do so because sometimes when the scale doesn't move the tape measure does. Also, keep in mind, if you are working out that you could be adding some muscle and your body is just getting accustomed to that.

San Hope your dinner out was good! You know on the bus situation I am really shocked and would be put out like you too. I have done the Peachtree Road Race and Bloomsday and both of those sent bus pass with the registration stuff. That is a rude awakening after completing a run (congrats on that!!!!). The weather turned out to be pretty nice. It has been in the 50's and was actually 51 at 8pm last night. I know that is not very warm (I am a Southern girl) but up here it is warm and I will take it. I think we are supposed to see a day in the 60's...maybe tomorrow.

Angie Girl I am so proud of you! You are right about how people will roll their eyes...haha...it is funny because my husband used to do that with me and now that he is actually "on board" because of his diabetes (hello!!! he should have been a long time ago) he is seeing the results. He is at his high school weight, and has not weighed it since high school. Now if I could just get him to start getting in some exercise. One step at a time. I am really anxious for his panels (and most importantly his A1C)...if it does not reflect well then he will not stay on this way of eating...it would be difficult for him to justify it in his head.

Sunkeeper Congrats on the next mini goal!! So excited for you and the upcoming wedding! I hope you enjoy your shopping day.

rockytu Good morning!!! How are you doing?

April Good to see you....yes those roles demand a LOT of time!! Hope you are doing well and making some 'me' time for yourself.

dialup So sorry about the allergies...it does make it tough. Just take it one second, minute, hour, day at a time.

Rachel It is great to see you girly!!!! I know you are a busy bee and so happy that the scale is still moving downward for you. You are right, that is what counts! I am very excited for the changes that are going on in your life and happy to see you when you are able to drop in.

As for me...had a good work out day with the daughter yesterday. Got in some ab work and push-ups on top of everything else. I am still just lingering around the same weight...I am sure some of that is from the indulgence that I had over the weekend and then the prior week I was sick and not much exercise....and then there is the slow moving pipe issue (hahaha). I feel much better this week. Still a bit of a dry cough but definitely manageable and not hindering my exercise.

I made a taco soup a couple of weeks ago and posted it to the recipe thread. Well, yesterday I used some leftover cooked ground beef and made myself a single serving of this same soup so something very easy to do. Instead of rotel I used a tablespoon of salsa...was a good way to get my fats up and I was stuffed after this soup. So if you haven't checked it out you may want to as it could be easily adapted to single servings.

I hope you all have a great day and I will check back in later.

Good morning. So nice to hear everyone's stories. I am not classically celiac but I am very carb intolerant. I just have to remind myself how awful and bloated I feel when tempted by cake or pancakes.

Sunkeeper, yo can do it before the wedding; you'll look great.

rchap112: Thank you so much for the compliment! I have tried very hard to get the weight off, as I did it to myself....so a few less calories isn't going to kill me! I actually am watching the carbs...but rarely do I get close to my RDI on calories.

Good Friday morning team, it's almost the weekend! No challenge in that, we all know weekends allow us time to cook up some great low carb recipes and get in a bit more exercise. It's the best time of the week to prove we believe in what we do, we can over come what life throws our way and we will succeed at weight loss, we will win the battle of the bulge, 1 day at a time. Should anyone have temptation to great to handle on their own just look around you, we're all here to help prop you up when the going gets rough, reach out, you'll find a friendly hand there for you to hold anytime you need one.

Linda, on fatsecret.ca I don't have notifications either but when I popped over to fatsecret.com it was there, right by the bio/signature box.

April your to kind, we all inspire I think just by being here for one another and having a sounding board when the going gets tough. Each of us really does understand, such a huge reminder every day we aren't alone by the postings and goings on both successful and not so.

Dialup, allergies are NO fun, not at all. They just mess us all up. Stay the coarse, it's really tough I know but I have no doubt you can over come what ever is tossed in front of you.

Rachel, you have been missed for sure, glad to hear about the part time working and now interning full time too, wow, you are one busy girl. I found the notifications but I have none, see how popular you are!

Jaime, what a trooper, still coughing away but getting a work out in no matter what. Really hope the cough goes and work out stays, gives you even more time to spend with DD who by the way will never be further than a phone call away. She might not be running right beside you but she'll always be with you, in thought if nothing else. Our job as parents is to raise good adults that can go out into the world confident in themselves, sounds to me like you've done a fantastic job with her and should be proud as punch to be her Mom.

Rowan, many people are also gluten intolerant and while the explanation of the difference between that and celiac escapes me at the moment, the symptoms are quite similar as are lactose intolerant. Celiac is a genetic disease, we suspect my dad had it though went undiagnosed as it just was never heard of prior to his death. Now that my daughter has been confirmed we have so many others on his side of the family as well. Many celiacs are also lactose intolerant, my daughter is not though we also have family members who are but are not celiac.

Myrna, I got a whoppie pan while out shopping yesterday. I'll have to go back now to see what all you've done with it. Also saw mini ones but wasn't sure what I could do with that so passed it by. Thanks for all your ideas, sure hope you don't mind if I borrow some of them.

Hi Yolanda, don't think we've met, looking forward to getting to know you.

Shopping was a great success, I got everything on my list and the best part, I got some new jeans, size 10! Put 12's on and they were just to baggie, my girls and I stood by the fitting rooms laughing like kids in high school. I now take the same size as my grand daughter, how cool is that? We didn't take time to eat much, had a chicken ceasar salad for lunch and some macadamia nuts late day, took 28 oz of water with me plus had 2 bottles and a big glass with lunch and while it's not nearly the normal for a day it was better than I had thought I might get in. Lost another lb from yesterday which meets my next mini goal but we'll have to see if it sticks or was just from lack of water. I know the walking around was intense, just ask my feet! Far more exercise than I'd normally do in a day could have burned enough for that lb. Tomorrow will tell the tale but the scales this morning were kind, I'll take that any time.

Have a great day everyone and remember, you are what you eat!

OK, I'm amazed, shopping really is good for you! I just logged all my food for yesterday and came in 1 calorie less than the day before but putting walking in at 2 mph gave me wayyyy more exercise.

Shopping burns up the fat, get out there people, shop till you drop!

OMG, this new way of life is just so much fun, can it get any better?

Good morning all. This is my first post on here, but I like the idea of a daily check in. I've been doing so well I forgot about all the tools available on here. I've only been using the site lately to post my weight, but I think I will start using it more. I've got a HUGE challenge tomorrow. I'm going tailgating before seeing Kenny Chesney and this is a big party atmosphere. We are planning on bringing all low carb food and low carb drink mix. I'm sure this one day will probably stall my weight loss for the week, but it only comes around once a year!

Hi everyone,
I just joined the group, great to see all the support here. I started low-carb on Feb 4, 2013 at 237 with a long-term goal of 140. I lost 7 lbs on induction and nothing since. So disappointing because I was comparing to my previous experience with Atkins when I was 32, not 47, and had half the weight to lose, and not near the stress I am under now.

Anyway, I started tracking, weighing my food, and checking all the numbers which only confirmed that I AM doing it right. The book suggests then that the problem is probably stress and hormonal imbalance. Well I am taking care of my Dad who has brain cancer and can't do much about the stress...

However, I am free from compulsive eating, cravings, and that bloated miserable feeling that carbs provide. I know that I am eating so much healthier and getting more exercise. I know my blood sugar is lower because the eye doc said my nearsightedness improved by 40%!

So I guess I will just keep on going and maybe someday I will lose more weight.

I look forward to chatting with yall. Smile
