Angie - so exciting to be so close to maintenance! And kudos on helping your Mom log her food. It can be so eye opening to see what you are *actually* eating!

Rockmela - love "resisting all the urges" Go you!

Jaime - may your immune system throw off whatever you are fighting quickly. It is so easy (for me at least) to eat the wrong things when you are feeling poorly.

It is one of those weeks I can hardly wait for a weekly weigh in. Love it when the scale moves dooooowwwwwn. *happy dance*

The rain is supposed to return on Tuesday. I will be sad because I have been really enjoying the unseasonable weather but we might be looking at drought without more rain, so I'm resigned. That said... off the computer and into the sun whilst it is still there to bask in. (I think I spent a lot of past lives as a lizard lying around on hot rocks.)

I missed yesterday's check in because we are refrigerator shopping. I now know more about cubic feet then I ever wanted to know. But, I think after 2 days of nonstop shopping, looking, measuring and discussing we have finally settled on a 29 cubic foot Whirlpool Gold that has all of the features that we want and is in the budget that we set.
I haven't been great about my water for the past 2 days but I'll get that up, again.
Julie - The buffalo chicken thighs are delicious. And, thank you for the congratulations, it is exciting. Smile

Angie - It is so good to see you posting again! My FMiL tried FatSecret for awhile, she just refuses to log every single thing she puts in her mouth. Apparently, strawberries don't count unless you eat a pound. Same with lettuce, grapes, apples and gas station cappuccinos. But you know, hey, whatever.

I'll come back and read everything, I am simply too worn out to do anything right now.

Good evening everyone! So glad most are doing so well.

I tried some recipies today - cauliflower bread sticks and no crust pumpkin pie. Everyone in the house loved them. I did get a few bread sticks and one piece of the pie.

I also had a MIM today, so my carbs were at 16%, a little high, I've been trying to keep it at 10%. Need to drink more water during the day. It seems like I get so busy that I don't drink it until the evening hours. Down another pound today, hope it keeps up.

I hope everyone starts the week out on a good lc note!

Hi everyone..

Just checking in for the weekend.. You ladies have been busy busy and busy! Good to come and have alot to catch up on..

Another month has come and gone..Will weigh in - in the morning see what is going on with the numbers.. This month WILL BE BETTER!

Rdrunnnr.. congratulations on the weight loss.. I like you tried a new cauliflower recipe and I fell in love.

Angie.. Love your long posts! So informative and insightful on what is going on - on your side of town!

Toni.. I know what you mean about nonstop shopping for an appliance.. I have been shopping around for a washer and dryer.. Very tiring. I've made the hot chicken wings with franks and they are delicious, don't know if it's the same recipe for the thighs but they sound delicious as well!! Can't go wrong with FRank's! Wink

Myrna.. I should try to make the low carb ketchup.. Just recently I purchased one from Heinz and it was good. Will try to make in the future.. You've been busy cooking up some stuff! Very Happy

Jaime..whatever you were coming down with, I hope it has come and gone!

Sunkeeper.. as for the scales.. Ohh goodness!! I have been disgusted so I have only weighed in 1x a week.. but the scale can be very addictive.

Hoping everyone had a wonderful weekend..Stuck to LC as much as possible and if doing the challenge, good luck on your weigh in and new numbers..

All is well.. Glad to see everyone doing good.. Check in tomorrow.. Have a good night!

Good Morning all...I just posted a picture of one of the "brats" with his sandwhich that I made....using Oopsie rolls..yum!

Linda: Yes, I was a busy woman...cooking up a storm...I did not lick my fingers or the spoons...is it getting hot in here...I think my pants are on fire!....Of course I did all the above....never trust anyone who won't eat what they cook! Everything I made went over well!

The FF was a success, I was at 242 and went down 6 to 236...but the funny thing is...saturday morning I weighed in at 231...sure would have loved to have kept that one! Oh well, maybe next week!

I have to work now....boo hoo me....Have a great low carb day!

Happy Monday all you low carbers out there. Happy day for me, in the past 6 weeks with all of your help I'm am so pleased to report I have lost 10 lbs and 7 inches in total. Certainly a BIG difference from the previous 6 weeks where the loses were virtually non existent. Yes, for 6 weeks I did not move the scale numbers much at all other than going up and down with the same pounds and the inches stayed pretty much the very same. This goes to show how being stubborn and sticking to what you believe in can pay off, even if you have to wait quite a while for it to happen.

It seems to take such a long time to lose weight but in the mean time we are learning so many things. All the new recipes everyone has found and designed will be such a help to others with not so many culinary skills. You see how one thing stalls your weight while another you hadn't thought might actually help it move. All the math skills tweaking the numbers of fat vs protein vs carbs, wow, look at how much smarter we all are!

I think it's pretty safe to say fat cells do not contain knowledge, nor do our brains need the weight in order to continue to learn.

So here's to a new Monday, a new week and a new us!

Good Morning / Afternoon All!
Operation Beautify My Office is well under way and just about finished. (Just about.)
I was pleased this morning to see that I weighed in at 170.6. This mean that I have lost exactly 30lbs. since October and that I am 10 lbs away from my next mini-goal.
Sunkeeper, you are so right about learning about ourselves during this process. I have learned a great deal about myself and what works for me as far as getting healthy.
I plan to start working out this week. I am still healing from a knee injury so I have to start lightly and go slowly but I think it will be good regardless.

I hope everyone is having a great day!

Yahoo...I finally got under the 200 mark. 199.8, but it's still under 200! I had a mini goal of 195 before my cruise, but I leave in 9 days, so I may not make that goal.

My computer broke, and I haven't had it for about 4 days now. I'm having to do all of these posts on my 7 inch tablet. I apologize for the brief post. Keep up the good work everyone.

Congrats MusicGirl Sunkeeper Myrna and Toni you are all dong so well!
Rdrunr the cauli bread sticks sound good will give them a try Smile
BBD5 .. yes another month, I really must get my act together... I am steady 'cos I have not been really serious about weight loss... I have not gained though... so I guess I know what maintenance is like! I do want to lose my last 2 ks though so I'm going to work out my menu for the week today and stick to it.

I have an appointment with someone who is opening a new restaurant today, they want me to hang my work there and have it for sale only 10% commission, many galleries these days charge anything from 40-70% So that's some good news Smile

Hello, Group!

Just a quick check in--I have an assignment that is due tomorrow (that I haven't even started on yet!)

BBD/Linda/Myrna- Just to let you know: I bought Heinz Reduced Sugar ketchup today and I love it! It tastes just like the real thing to me. (Apparently I'm either too busy or too lazy to make it myself!)

And, Myrna- The picture of your son is just too cute...he looks like an angel! (By the way, what is a "whoopie pan"?)

Until morning....

Julie...whoopie pie pan....please don't tell me you never had a whoopsie pie! Please say it isn't so! And as for looking like an angel....90 percent on a good day! Lol

sorry to miss check in the last 2 days, computer probs. I may not be able to check in on the 9th either. Hubby and I are doing pre-service training for foster care licensing all day that day. Quick question, how do I get that ticker on the bottom of my posts?

Good morning, all!

Myrna- No, I had never heard of a whoopie pie before you enlightened me.Smile I found it on Amazon...if anyone is interested, here is the link: Whoopie pie pan . I'll get that ordered right away--it's impossible to use the oopsie rolls as sandwich rolls when they're made in the muffin pan, so thanks!

Dialup75- I just was going to tell you how to add your ticker, but I see that you've got it figured out. Nice job! If you have any other questions about how to navigate Fatsecret, we have a thread that helps you do basic things like enter a custom food, etc: Diagrams to help navigate Fatsecret. Or, go to the faq link at the very bottom of the screen. Here is the link: Fatsecret faq. Good luck!

I haven't weighed in (because that silly scale intimidates me! LOL), but I feel like the jeans I just had taken in are getting looser, so that's good. I'm going to have to just force myself to get on the scale! My fear is that I won't see a change in the numbers due to water fluctuations or whatever, and I'll get discouraged... Congrats to all of you who are doing so well!

I've got a long day ahead...I'm an editor, and I am faced with a 300-page manuscript that's due by the end of the week. I'll try to check in later and see how everyone is doing. Keep it low-carb, and have a great day everyone!

Checking in on this Tues after doing a happy dance. Those scales didn't intimidate me this morning Julie, I hopped out of bed in anticipation of what the numbers would be and am happy to report for the 3rd week in a row I have met my mini challenge, can I keep it up?

I'm spending more and more time with Wally lately, he's happy but boy it's a lot of work. Pretty much up to 1 1/2 hours a day between walking, running, do the couch to 5K or just generally working out then get into an aerobics DVD for 1/2 hour or so. This losing weight is really hard work and takes up a lot of the day. I really feel for people working and trying to do it all, good for you that get to the gym or spend time with George etc.

It just goes to prove if you really want to do it, you can. Excuses don't go very far to working up a sweat, they don't burn many calories and in the long run really don't make you feel much better cause even you know they are only excuses.

So fire up that spirit low carbers. If your in a slump and need some help ask for it, please. There are lots of veterans here more than happy to give you a hand and make suggestions as to how to get the numbers moving, all you have to do is ask.

I asked and look at me now! Instead of letting it get me down I got mad and more determined I was going to be steering this ship. I was so tired of it just going in circles in the middle of the ocean. I'm so glad I did and once again, thank you to all those that threw me a life line, you'll never know how close to drowning I truly was.

I'm so happy for everyone showing loses, great job team. Be really really proud of yourselves.

Dialup, you found the ticker, good job. I took mine down as it never works right. Just this morning I thought I'd put it back again, clicked the box then went and looked and the darn thing had me at 171 something. NO THANK YOU! I've worked way to hard to get the numbers I have, not going back now. Sure wish they'd get them fixed.

It seems I was hanging around in moderation limbo. Had it on all my posts everywhere. Dunno what I did, but I obviously annoyed someone XD

So the past few days:

I had a packet of Doritos yesterday, with a salad from Subway (cause I was too lazy in the morning to do my own lunch), but after eating them I realised I don't really care for them much any more.

On Saturday I went round to my parent's house and had, shock horror gasp, a Chinese Takeaway. Chicken curry and chips >.> I allow myself 1 takeaway of each type per month, so no more Chinese for me this March. My friends are visiting for a few days tomorrow though, so I may have to let up on the carbs slightly.

Does anyone know if wholemeal pasta is "better" than normal pasta for less carbs?

Awesome work to everyone who has achieved mini-goals, major-goals, lost weight or just feel better about themselves! Hope I can join you all in that soon Smile

Happy Tuesday!!

Has anyone tried Nectresse? Any feedback on it?

I've been busy busy busy with work and after work meetings. Why do we, as women, have the need to participate in extracurricular activities on top of working a full 8 hour day? I'm about done though. I don't think I will be on this board for next year. Sheesh, I'm tired!!
