Good Evening...got the brats....uh....I mean kids in bed. lol....I love them, but they try my patience...One is a little on the "fluffy" side...he had decided he was going to eat what Mom eats.......that lasted about 3 days...now he is doing this "thing" where he says he's full half way thru dinner...and then right before bed he wants a bowl of cereal...tonight I told him NOT GONNA HAPPEN! So he went to bed mad....I am officially, "THE WORLD'S WORST MOTHER!"...I'm so proud that I have a title!!! haha

Anyway...FF is going well...not hungry tonight...but guys...seriously....I need some ideas here...not a huge fan of cream cheese, caviar, macadamia nuts, and I have never seen sugar free peanut butter....But, all is well...I'll survive!

I ordered another muffin top tin for the OOPSIE ROLLS, and I ordered a kewpie pie tin for smaller Oopsie Rolls, then I can make the boys sausage buiscuts for breakfast...AND they asked when I was going to make my SPECIAL pizza again...sometimes I am so proud!

I read everyones posts, but am tired...going to go to bed, I go to doctors tomorrow for my knee....It aint gonna be good I'm afraid.

Good Night all...low carb dream!

Nothing much to report, forgot about weighing in this morning. My friend just got out of the hospital and I went over to make her breakfast and then did her shopping. I have read everything but when on the mini iPad it is hard to do long posts. Cheers to the team!

Oh Myrna - you can indeed have more than the stuff you listed there. I'm on my tablet so I can't really type it out. If you go to the fat fat thread, I posted what I ate when I did it and Jaime posted some good links that you should read.

Sunkeeper I loved the story, it brought tears to my eyes. I'm praying the doctor's appointment goes well.

Myrna I agree with Toni, check out the FF thread, lots of good info there.

Wow, what a week and it's only Tuesday. It has started out a good one, Sir RR and I have kept our date both last night and tonight. We take a break from one another tomorrow night and then Thursday night we are back at it. Does anyone use the ifit program? I got a free year when we got the elliptical and so far, I'm not that impressed. It doesn't do alot of what it claims to do. But, I guess I really shouldn't complain too much, it was free after all (sort of).
I'm still stuck in a rut with my weight. Almost 3 months and I've only lost 7 pounds. I did actually make it to the 10 lb mark, but my excitement was gone the next morning when the scale was back up by 2.3 pounds. Since then it has been a yo-yo between 7-9.9 lbs. I'm staying strong through the end of March. But, if I can't make some progress, I'm sad to say that I will have to find some other way of eating. It wouldn't be so upsetting if clothes were getting bigger, but nope. I have one pair of pants that I can fit into better than before, but still pretty snug.

Tomorrow is another day!

Good morning, everybody!! Happy Wednesday!Smile

Well, I decided to weigh in and do measurements this morning. (I don't know why I always get so nervous before I get on the scale. Strange.) Anyway, I only measured my waist, upper thigh, hip, and upper arm, but in those 4 areas I've lost a total of 7 inches! And, I'm at goal for my waist!! Yeah!!! So excited! I posted my before/after measurements in the "Post Your Measurements Here" thread. Weigh in wasn't too bad either...another 1/2 lb. down; 6 lbs. from my goal.

Toni- That's ok that you missed my coconut oil question...Jaime and Rowanfair gave me some great information. And, thank you for sharing your coffee recipe. I'm always looking for new ways to drink coffee because it's just sooo bitter black. (And it upsets my stomach sometimes too.)

Myrna -Good luck on the fat fast! The only other fat fast food that I can think of are avocados. And what about egg yolk with mayo? Is that allowed?? I don't know...I need to read the thread myself.
Oh, and good luck at the doctor today. Your in my prayers, my friend!

Rachel- Many congratulations to you for the loss and for getting so close to graduation!! Yeah for you!!! I'm taking a graduate class myself right now and I know how difficult it is to juggle school, work, family, blah, blah, blah... Good luck in your job search!

Jaime- I'm going to look up your Runkeeper app in a few minutes...I'm always looking for a new app to play with. Isn't today your treadmill day?

Linda- 2 chickens for $7.00?!?? Geez! You can't get a deal like that around here! Good find!

April- 7 lbs. is nothing to sneeze at...hang in there. Maybe Angie or Toni can look at your food journal and offer some suggestions...I know it helped me.Smile

Ok, have a great low-carb day everybody!!

Happy hump day, will it be a hump in your numbers? I sure hope not...

Oh to get 2 chickens for $7, I got 2 chicken breast, with bone for $7.56 yesterday, sigh***

Julie, I think we all have a certain amount of fear of those scales, sometimes it turns the lips up, other times the lips are up side down. As your seeing there are other factors too, good job on the losses.

Rachel, your doing well, your hard work will pay off both in school and your health, you go girl, job offers will be coming soon.

Jaime, have fun with the treadmill today, don't know why but I had a WORKOUT on mine yesterday doing what I always do. Not sure what was going on but man did I sweat.

April stay strong, it pays off. I stalled for over 6 weeks but hung in there throughout and finally am seeing the results. Takes time for a body to adjust. I wouldn't be setting any give up point yet, just get your back up and tell yourself you can do it.

How'd the cleaning go Toni? Want to come do some of mine? I started on some spring cleaning of cupboards, seem to have gotten bogged down though cause it's just not a lot of fun. I like fun stuff.

Rowanfair, what a nice friend you are.

Myrna, congrats on your new title! Just think, you've still got the teenage years ahead, imagine how often it'll be reaffirmed. (don't mean to scare you of coarse)

Seem to be a few people MIA lately, come out come out where ever you are.

Lots more snow in our neck of the planet, it's pretty safe to say that we will NOT be getting an early spring as some had predicted, well 1 in particular of coarse. It will end, right? Please tell me there is green grass under all this blasted white stuff and it's trying to get through. I sure hope this is the last blast but who knows, it is what it is and we can't change it. Could be worse things happen I'm sure.

Make the best of your day, low carb it for sure to feel oh so good about yourself at the end of it.

I have been a total slacker and for that I apologize. I'm steady with my weight. I haven't started exercising again yet but intend to on Monday. My niece is getting married in June so I have another reason to keep it up.

Rachel, my supervisor lost 4 lbs in 3 days. She is pretty happy with the results.

I'll catch up on all the posts when I have a minute. The problem with that is that we keep getting more and more!! Shame on me for missing so many!

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

Hi everyone my name is Danielle. Today is my day 2 induction on Atkins. Yesterday went really well for me, and I am praying today will be the same. I have tried Atkins in the past but failed to get past induction. Weight loss is a mind thing, and I always have so many things on my mind. Food is always at the top of that list.

I will check back later. I look forward to chatting and holding my self accountable with you all. Have a good day!

Yipee...I lost another 1.2 pounds yesterday. It must have been tons of water, because I was in the bathroom about every hour. So, now I've not only lost what I gained on my travel, but I'm down 1 pound more than that.

I also went on a "shopping spree"......THROUGH MY CLOSET, to see if there was anything new to wear. I must have abour 4 sizes hanging around. It's fun to see a new size in the near future.

I also decided to check my measurements. I posted my new numbers on my Atkins page and it calculated that I have lost 9 inches (since January)!! That's over my arms, bust, waist, hips and thighs. But, I do notice my clothes starting to fit looser.

What great fun it is seeing results, and how exciting it is to report to all of you - who listen!!! LOL

Have a great day!

Myrna Some of the links posted under the Fat Fast thread have some simple recipes for the Fast...you should check them out. I think there is a cream cheese peanut butter one...I have tried it. Good luck on the FF!

Rowanfair Hope you have a great day!

April Hang in there. I am sure that a couple of the ladies will take a look at your food and I will take a peek too.

Julie Congratulations on your waist goal! Also congrats on the inches and the weight. That is awesome and I know you are just bouncing up and down. Today is treadmill day and I am looking forward to it Smile

Sunkeeper Thanks! I am actually looking forward to the treadmill and the torture of the Couch to 10k app...hahaha. I did some weight work yesterday for upper body...could tell my legs were sore in some places.

Stacy Good to see you! Yes a wedding is always an added motivator!

DanielleWelcome to the group! Atkins will work for you just make sure you eat and drink lots of water. Please let us know if you have any questions. There is a lot of activity on this board and plenty of people to jump in and help you over the 'hump'

Smile I am happy to report that my 'stall' moved. Thanks to those of you that helped me keep the positive vibes when I was getting a bit bummed. The scale was bouncing around the same place for about 10 days. However, I kept doing what I was supposed to do and starting getting my exercise back on and yay...the scale is my friend again. Seriously, don't give up. You will feel bummed sometimes but go back and look at what you are eating and drinking..every little bite and drink and look at your exercise are you getting some in. I am still a month ahead of my personal goal. I don't know that I would have stayed on track so well without the support of you all and I appreciate you!!!! Time to reset my goal to 192's Very Happy

Hey April I took at look at your food and your carbs look good...I would suggest a couple of tweaks...looks like you might need to reduce your protein some and up your fats. Looking at your pie chart it looks like you are only in the 50-60% range on fats and that could be causing the stall. Also, on the sodium...it looks like there are more high days than low days. With the sodium I am only going off of how it effects me. Daily RDI is around 2400 BUT if I had that much then I would surely retain water (I did this whole experiment with my weight and sodium a couple years ago). So on any day when I hitting close to 2000mg or more I always taken in extra water. So on a regular day I try to get around 100 oz of water and on a higher sodium day I will take in several more glasses of water. I hope these suggestions help you and I am sure that some of the other ladies will take a look and can add even more advise.

Hello Everyone,

Myrna - I hope everything goes well at the knee doctor today. I bought organic peanut butter, the only ingredient is peanuts. In the count they do list 1 gram of sugar but it is the natural sugar that is in the peanut, nothing else added.

Moreplease - I know first hand about stalling. The only thng that kept me going was my measurements, my clothes did not feel any different and I don't look any different to me but my measurements are smaller. If you haven't done so before, take measurements.

Banathallah - Welcome to the group. There are many knowledgeable people here willing to share. With recording everything I eat and trying new receipies, it seem like food is always at the top of my list too. Sometimes I think it is an obsession. lol

I am trying to keep my fat high (80%), protein (15)and carbs somewhere around (5%). I finally lost the 2 pounds I gained last weekend and I see my endocronologist tomorrow. thyroid, ugh!

Good luck to all - have a great low carb day!

Good morning everyone!
I'm getting a late start today as I had things to ship out and my office / lab is still a mess. It's better though. So that's good. Smile

Welcome Danielle and April! This is a great group and there are lots of people that can answer any questions that you may have.

April, I took a peek at your food journal and echo a lot of what Jaime said. I'd like to add a couple of things too. If you're doing Atkins, the bulk of your net carbs (12-15 of them) need to come from vegetables, preferably green, leafy ones. I'd suggest upping those a bit and dropping your protein a tad. Julie compiled a thread that has a lot of good information from Angie that you can find here. It is packed with so much good, helpful info that it should help you out immeasurably.

MusicGirl - I was pretty sure you'd drop that 1.6 lbs. in no time at all. Smile

Stacy - Welcome back!

Sunkeeper - I'm so glad that you're here. You are such a positive force in this group.

Jaime - same goes for you. And, congrats on reaching your March goal! Those lbs are just melting off of you!

Myrna - YourlighterSide.com has Oopsie Donuts too. I'm trying to find a mini bundt pan set and low carb / sugar free glaze to go on them and I'll definitely be giving them a try.

Dorothy - How are you? Are you surviving? Smile

I'm up a couple of pounds because of TOM. But, it's only a couple and I KNOW that they will go away in a day or two, so I'm not sweating it. I had hoped to be in the 160's by Friday but I probably won't be. And that's okay. I will be there soon and that's really what matters. I haven't set any specific time goals. I'm happy with however long it takes,so long as it does come off - and it is. Smile
I am close to my second mini-goal of 160 which will put me below what I was when I went completely off plan a couple of years ago. Back then, I was just calorie counting which worked but I didn't feel as good as I do now.

I'm off for a bit.
Have a great day, all!
- Toni

Good Afternoon! WELCOME NEWBIES...Check in often...!!!

Thanks for the support and suggestions. I am happy to announce it is working...dropped in just 2 days, but going to keep it up 1 more day! Found a little thingy of Papa Johns Garlic butter in fridge,,,maybe whip it up with some cream cheese and eat with Pork Rinds....should have a heart attack about an hour after that!

Drs. appt did not go well...I have torn the ligaments and a few muscles and I am going to require surgery...but he did tell me I could ride GEORGE...(lol...tickles me everytime!) as long as I go slow....he said just go slow....especially since I am not going to have surgery until after I have lost the weight...What harm can there be...It happened in September!

Toni: Let me know how those donuts turn out...I might have to invest in one of those pans myself!

Rdrunnr: Thanks for the tip about the PB!

Sunkeeper: I am holding out for "QUEEN of the worst mothers in the world". tee hee

Julie: You are the greatest! Thank you so much!!!

Angie and the rest: I could not travel this road without you!

The brats want spagetti for dinner with garlic bread...think I'll try Oopsie rolls with garlic butter.....hhhhmmm

Have a great low carb day!!! BB later!

Hey Myrna so sorry to hear about the torn ligaments but it is great that you ca still ride George. Slow and easy is better than not at all. Have you ever tried spaghetti squash? If not it is definitely something you want to keep in mind for the next time you make spaghetti. My daughter actually likes it and would gladly eat it each time I make it. DH of course is not as agreeable and would not even try it. So glad that the FF is working for you. Nothing better than pork rinds!!!!

Okay so just finished 'tentatively' going through my closet. I can wear all 14 and 12 skirts that I tried on. I can wear all 12 jeans and slacks. There are a couple of 12 slacks that I did not try on (and will). Found my other pair of 12 jeans (so now I have 3 pair that actually fit me and I don't need a belt...hahaha). I have some shorts (12's and 14's) to try but feel confident that I will have something to wear come spring/summer...hahaha. I have plenty of polo shirts for the spring/summer that were large (still have to accommodate the girls) and I have not worn them in years. I have LOTS of slacks and jeans and sweaters that are TOO BIG for me that I will be putting in my garage sale (and then donating). I have a couple of things that I kept out to try on to see if I want to have them taken in or not.

All in all I am very happy that I moved my smaller clothes across the country from Georgia to Washington. Even though they have all pretty much been boxed up since 2009 (and some before) they will get to come out of the closet this year!!! Yippee!!! Sometimes it is a good thing to be a hoarder.

OKAY---APOLOGIZING IN ADVANCE FOR THE BOOK THAT FOLLOWS:

Jaime—Oh my how things are changing so very fast for me. I feel like I’m caught in a whirlwind of perpetual motion. Thanks. More pounds to go in the near future! YAY Your stall is moving again. I know you are so very happy about that. You are doing such a wonderful job and I will keep reminding you of such. Glad you seem to be feeling better too!

Sunkeeper—I hope all goes well with your daughter’s doctor’s appointment and hopefully it’s not as serious as it seems at the moment. Unfortunately, here in the US we don’t have that “free” health care and our wait times are still ridiculous. I called this morning to get an appointment and they told me the earliest appointment is next Tuesday. Oh the joys of healthcare systems. Seems like you guys are getting slammed with the winter weather this year and we have hardly had any at all which is very rare. It’s just rained and rained here. I think I’d rather have the snow. HAHAHA Thank you for all of your kind words of encouragement!

Linda—I hope everything goes as well as planned. If so, it may be a ride of a lifetime for me—a new beginning so to speak. I’m ready for changes! Thanks for all of your words of encouragement! Two chickens for $7 is a great deal! I hope you enjoyed your chicken and vegetable soup. That sounds like a great idea for food during this cold weekend we are about to have. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Myrna—Brats haha Oh boy it sounds like it would be fun to be a fly on the wall at the house of Myrna. You have some of the funniest stories about your kiddos. I wish I had ideas for you on the fat fast. Thankfully when I did it I was lucky. Macadamia nuts were on sale and are one of my favorite nuts and I really like cream cheese. I’m so sorry that your doctor appointment didn’t go so great. At least you aren’t having to have surgery immediately and you can still ride George. I’m going to have to order one of the muffin top tins so I can make the oopsie rolls in them—until then I’ll just keep flattening them out on a cookie sheet but they won’t be quite as even. Let me know how the oopsie rolls with garlic butter turn out tonight for garlic bread. That sounds delicious.

Rowan- Glad to hear that your friend is out of the hospital—hopefully in much better condition. Have a great day!!

April—Hang in there!! Maybe re-read the book and see if there’s something that you may have missed the first time? I’ll take a look and I’m sure if you ask some others will too and they may have some advice for you. I’m sure that when everything gets lined up right the pounds will start melting. Good job on keeping your date with Sir RR for both days!

Julie—I think that nervousness of getting on the scale is a fear of going in the wrong direction. Way to go on all those inches lost. I bet you felt like a Queen when you saw all those smaller numbers. Good luck on your graduate classes. I’m not so sure that I’m going to want to venture back into this school, family, job rut for a while after I finally graduate this time. I’m ready for a break!

Stacy—So good to see you back! That’s some great results for your supervisor! I bet she was happy with it too. Congrats to you for hanging in there and staying steady—at least you aren’t gaining right? *big smile*

Danielle—Welcome! I’m sure Day 2 and beyond will go well for you. The most important thing to remember is that IF for some reason you fall off the horse get back up, brush off and get back on! I’m sure I can speak collectively for everyone when I say “We are all here to help you in any way we can.” I hope you have a wonderful low carb day and we see you often.

MusicGirl—Congrats on the 1.2 lbs down!! I’m going to have to log into my Atkins page and update all of my measurements. I didn’t realize it calculated it for you. I guess it’s time for me to roam around over there a bit and discover some new tools. I’m sure that in no time you’ll be able to throw out all of those clothes in your closet and go on a real shopping spree in the store!

Rdrunr—Congrats on the 2lb loss. Hopefully your visit to the doctor will give you better answers and he/she will be able to help things start moving some more. Always good to see you here though!

Toni—Dang TOM strikes again. What an evil little creature. I’m sure once it’s over things will get back to normal and the weight will just drop off. You are so close to that mini goal. Look to the sidelines- I’m cheering for you. GO TONI GO!!!

Angie and Dorothy---you’re being missed again. I hope everything is going well for both of you and you are just super busy trying to keep up with life itself. I’m looking forward to reading more from both of you!

As for me, I’m back on the 3-day thing again today, tomorrow and Friday. I’ve been delighted with the results and I know that I can maintain with Atkins. I also was able to lose during the 4 days I do low carb. Last time I was on the scale I was down to 224 which is where I was before all of this gaining started thanks to hormones (yes, I’m still very mad about that). I won’t record my weight until my usual Sunday but I still weigh every day. It helps me stay focused. I hope that everyone has a super fantastic low carb day!!!

Musicgirl, the best place to shop is in one's closet, amazingly you like everything on the rack!

Welcome Banathallah and Danielle, we're all here to support you so fire any questions away and jump right into the conversation. It's always great to have another loser in our midst!

Rdrunr, I've been trying to do 70% 15% and 15% with 3 to 4 liters of water a day. If I stay there I lose, if I go above, especially on protein, I sit.

Toni, I put up a quick easy topping for muffins which could easy be used for donuts too. You can change the flavor at will pretty much just use 2 tbsp cream cheese, a dash of Splenda and then your choice, lemon rind, cinnamon or some of your great syrups. Doesn't add many carbs and ups the fat, gotta love those win wins.

Jaime, good advice to April, I'll bet it's the protein that's causing the stall, same thing that had me sitting for so long. I usually have green leafy veggies for lunch now and it's working far better.

I miss Angie round here, sure will be nice when that new computer comes.

Ah Myrna, that's not the news we were wanting, bet you weren't either. That's what I'm afraid Sheryl has done too which will keep her down for quite some time. Now you want to be QUEEN of the worst mothers, well you'd best stand in line, there are lots of us on here with older kids who have already won that award years ago and aren't so sure we want to give one of them up cause now we can use it against them seeing they have kids now. Sorry, I'm keeping my crown from those days, I use it alllllll the time.

checking in Smile wow lot's of posts to read. A big welcome to our new members, we have now over 300 low carbers in our group, fantastic!

Well, the chicken soup was a hit, lots left for today. Roasted the other chicken and had it with cauliflower cheese, green beans and the kale... mmm not sure about the kale, firstly I cut my finger badly whilst chopping the kale... had tv on and was not paying attention, no joke it bled really bad... fortunately not on the food! Any how I decided to cook the kale in a little water-like spinach, but it's allot tougher - more fibrous, it took about 15 minutes to cook through, I strained the water off, then added some soy sauce, olive oil garlic and a little lemon juice (as per a recipe I googled) tossed it over the heat till the flavours infused.. as I mentioned this was our first try at kale, I can't say I loved it... I know it's full of nutrients so I ate it, it was still a bit chewy-but edible, even after all the cooking. I think I would prefer spinach or silver beet... I didn't cook the whole bunch of kale, so I still have some to use up... I was going to make the kale salad but now I'm thinking it would be soooo chewy and tough???? Maybe I can cut it really finely.

Loved the posts about fitting into old clothes... mmm going to sort my wardrobe out and try on a few things!
