Still no change in my weight. No Atkins bars, drinking all my water, sticking with this WOE 100%. I'm getting a little discourage here. I might have to go back and review my food items.

Julie - I would suggest watch your sodium intake. On the sleep; definitely I would think a visit to the doctor may be in order to help you figure out what is going on.

Danzaldo - the Fat Secret app goes by Calorie Counter (at least on the Droid phone); that is how I found Fat Secret through my phones app. It is great to have to log foods and you can even scan many barcodes to update your food diary.

April - that is great on the exercise; good luck on the sewing!

Musicgirl - hang in there...I know it is hard not to get discouraged but I am sure the scales will start reflecting what you are doing.

As for me..got my exercise in...walked outside...dummy didn't put on gloves and my fingers were froze. Then did some shoveling outside while the fur babies ate.

Oh fantastic news! My daughter got the call to go to MEPS on Thursday to meet with the Chief and sign her Contract for Corpsman! She is so excited and I am for her. The recruiter told her that she will leave for bootcamp in April. So maybe I will have a walking buddy in the afternoons (depending on her sleep schedule). Actually me walk and her run...she a little size 2 thing with the perfect runners body...so it shouldn't take her long to get back into the groove of running (she did Cross Country and Track in school).

Hope you all have a great day! I am so over the top proud of my daughter.

MusicGirl7 - I took a peek at your food journal and I have a couple of ideas that may help.

1. Nuts aren't allowed in induction and a lot of people have some issues with them in induction. You may be able to add them back at a later date.

2. You are staying well within your carbs most days. If you aren't already, shoot for 12-15 of those coming from green, leafy vegetables.

3. Your protein seems a little low to me. Try upping that a bit.

4. Also, are you working out? If so, make sure that you up your calories as well.

Hi ladies. Just checking in. Doing well with the diet even though I'm traveling for work.

Moreplease I have a vitamix and Tony is right, it is amazing. QVC sells it and sometimes have special prices. It is a bit pricey, but I would totally get another one. I've had mine for 3 years and I just love it.

Jaime - you have every right to be proud to be proud of her! What an accomplishment!
I hope date night at the cigar bar goes well. I used to love a good cigar before I quit smoking a few years ago.

Glad to see most everyone had a good day.

MusicGirl keep on hanging on-take measurements instead of weighing. You may be losing inches instead of lbs.

I am sticking to plan--I even got a little too carried away watching carbs today and was about to end the day with 0 absolutely NO carbs. I did have a chocolate attack about an hour ago though. I love some sugar free chocolate chips. 1 NC/tbsp and that's enough to shut up my chocolate needs. I try not to do it very often though with the Sugar Alcohols etc.

Jaime-You SHOULD be one proud mama! Congrats to the family. That is awesome news.

Okay, I'm going to bite and try that turkey bacon jerky in the next couple days.

Happy Low Carbing to all!
~Rachel~

Just checking in for the day Smile Had a hard time getting out of bed today. My breathing problems are getting better finally, so now it seems all I wanna do is sleep. I learned to listen to my body many years ago, so when it says "sleep!", I sleep.

Read through the posts. Looks like lots of good advice has been given. Just one of the reasons I love our group Smile

Myrna, you had asked about the no carb/low carb breads. I don't have a lot of experience with them, but I did have a boxed low-carb bread mix a while back. I had planned on using it at Thanksgiving as part of my low-carb meal, but it didn't turn out all that great. I trashed it and made cornbread muffins out of coconut flour instead. Sorry, but that's all I have to offer on that :/ .. I know it's a wonderful feeling when your clothes start getting too big. Most definitely get you some better fitting pants and sell all those other ones! And don't feel too bad about not measuring yet. I didn't measure myself in the beginning, either. Really didn't care to know the numbers at that time. But, I will say, that once I started measuring, I was really shocked at the inches I was losing every 2 weeks. To me, those are more important than what the scales say.

San, about those jeans that don't fit. Those are great incentives! I hung mine up on the closet door just as a reminder. It wasn't long before I was in them and man, was that a great feeling Smile You'll get there, girl!

Rockmela, I'd love to try those kale chips, but our stupid small-town grocery store doesn't even carry kale Sad I'm gonna look for it, though, the next time I go to Walmart. And those 50 pounds CAN be lost! Mine are gone, and I don't plan on ever finding them or even looking for them again LOL

Rachel, shame shame for not taking your measurements again lol Seriously, though, I know you've been going through a tough time. Just don't you give up! I'd hate to have to come and knock on your door! Razz (Although, I'm sure we'd have a lot of fun and laughs!)

Toni, so happy that you're here to help admin! I still have to fight for computer time Confused but I'll be here as much as I can. And congratulations on the big news about your business! Very proud for you!

Julie, thank you for taking on the task of merging the info. I think it will be very helpful Smile You and I must have been on the same wavelength (kinda) last night. I didn't sleep eat, but I took a bite of my daughter's baked potato without even thinking about it. Stuck it in my mouth and thought, "What in the hell are you doing??" LOL! I didn't even chew. I walked over to the sink and spit it out lol. Of course, everyone looked at me like I was a little weird Laughing On the low-carb "to do" list, you might add something about logging your food? That food diary is such a great tool for many reasons.

April, good job on the exercise! I've been saying for months that I'm gonna start back exercising on the Wii Fit again, but my lazy butt needs a kick. It really helped me in the beginning of my journey, and I'm sure it will help you, too.

Jamie, thank you much for your support! And I'm so happy for you and your daughter! Be sure you let us know how the Cigar Lounge adventure went!

Stacy, so happy to hear from you! And you lost 3 pounds! Way to go, girl!

Congrats also to you, LynCaro! 10 pounds in that length of time is great! So very happy for you!

Sue, I hope those egg muffins are serving their purpose! My favorite kind are the ones made with sausage and ground beef. I usually put a little bell pepper, onion, sage and parmesan cheese in mine, too.

So, last night I had bacon, sausage and eggs for supper with brussels sprouts and broccoli on the side. It was so good! I really have a hard time getting my calories over 1000. The veggies make me so full, and I hate to make myself eat when I'm not hungry, but last night I did anyway. Fixed a hamburger patty and slathered it in mayo, topped with tomato, avocado, onions and some cheese. Melted in my mouth, and brought me up to my RDI.

Nothing to report really. I'm feeling like I'm in limbo. I'm eating okay but not losing anything. I have a big conference this weekend though and I figure when it is over I will do a fat fast and see if I can get some movement. Maybe go back to Atkins induction; not sure the primal blueprint works for someone who isn't an exercise geek. I'm not Grok, I'm his disabled grandmother.

Good morning, everybody!

I finished the Low Carb Basics thread. Please let me know if you think I left anything out. Find it here:Low Carb Basics

Angie,
I added "log your food" to the list of things to do. Thanks for the suggestion!

Jaime,
I gave sodium it's own link because I think it's important.

Thanks for your input, everyone!

Good morning all,
Julie - great job on the merge. It should be helpful to have all of those threads in one spot now.

Angie - I'm having a really hard time hitting 1000 calories right now, too. I was using the sugar free candy to get me there but either those or the low calories have stalled me. So I'm still holding steady at 174 and have been for the last week. I'm going to work really hard to get to my RDI for the next few days, cut out the sugar free candies and see if my weight starts dropping again.

I'm overwhelmed with orders right now. I do a line of fragrances, inspired by a series of books by an author that is pretty well known in the Fantasy Genre. She posted about the perfumes last night on her facebook page. Which is wonderful! I got in over 62 orders in less than an hour. As happy as I am about it, I'm a company of one. So, everything falls on me to do and I am a little bit overwhelmed. I'll check in on breaks but I'll probably not be around too terribly much today and possibly tomorrow.
In other good news for my business, I was invited to an Independent Artist Show Case and there's a youtube channel that wants to review the fragrances. The youtube channel has over 500,000 subscribers so that is exciting.

Okay, I'm off for coffee and to start working. Have a great day all!

Rachel good for you for getting back to plan!

Angie I am glad to hear that you are starting to feel better! Welcome back to the land of the breathing, guuurl!!!

Rowanfair hang in there; sometimes I like to think (when my weight is lingering) that it is my body just acclimating to the new weight range and then it will start losing again. Whether it is true or not it usually works.

Julie - the merge looks good

Toni - I am sorry that you will be scarce, but that is awesome about the orders!!!!

Toni and Myrna - thanks for the links! I talked to DH about a dehydrator and he is all in. So looks like we may be picking one up while we are out and about.

Today is Ash Wednesday a day of abstinence (no meat but shellfish is okay) so looks like I will be eating deviled eggs. Also, a day of fasting (which really means small meals and no snacking). So looks like I will be eating deviled eggs today...lol...maybe a salad for dinner with some tuna or shrimp added.

I hope you all have a great day!!! If you are Fasting today what does your menu look like?

Mark Sisson is a naturally thin guy who likes to exercise. That works really well for guys his age who are naturally thin and like to exercise. Others might have to tweak it to find out what works best. But lots of vigorous exercise is absolutely not a requirement.

I am currently reading one of the threads in their forum on a high fat diet for nutritional ketosis. It's mostly women there, lots with health issues they are trying to work past.

Atkins induction question for you folks: the list of approved foods here includes a list of cheeses and carb counts. Now, my Kraft swiss cheese packaging shows 0 carbs, but the list says 1 carb/oz. Do I count the list's 1, or do I count the package's 0?
