Good Morning, friends. Trying to start my day off right, but I'm sooo sleepy. I had much interrupted sleep last night. I always drink alot of water, but yesterday Sir Rocky Road and I had a date and he was not too accomodating. He made me go uphill and with resistance for 25 minutes. That's 5 minutes longer than I had been doing and a little bit of resistance on an elliptical makes a huge difference. So, I was chugging water the whole time and for a while afterwards. I got up 4 times last night because of all the extra water.

However, I am proud of that 25 minutes. I'll eventually work my way up to 60.

I plan to rendevouz with him again tonight.

Have a great low carb day all!!

April, good for you and Sir Rocky Road! Incremental change works for sure. Sorry that you paid the toilet toll booth with sleep. Just don't operate any heavy equipment today, except maybe Sir Rockey?Smile

Good Morning Family! I woke up with a nasty sinus headache this morning. Pollen count is really high...and I want to go back to bed...But on the bright side...I think I need to get in my closet and find a better fitting pair of pants...people are starting to accuse me of just buying bigger pants! lol

Have a great low carb day!

April good for you! I miss my elliptical machine VERY MUCH!! I actually enjoyed it and I hate that stupid stationary bike so boring to me. I am proud of you April!

I hope Linda's time away is great and I know that we are in great hands of experience with Angie and Toni...thanks Ladies for stepping up.

Julie - thank you for undertaking the merging of the threads!

Myrna - that is so great when we can go into our closet and pull out something that we COULDN'T wear and put it on!!!!! Love that feeling...keep it up!!

We are supposed to go to the buffet at the cigar lounge for members...not sure what they have on it but hopefully there will be some low carb items. I know I need to get to the store today for some things and will try to accomplish that on my break today. This will give me time to get in some form of exercise and then get ready for my 'date' with DH.

I hope everyone has a great day today!

Morning all!
Linda and Jaime - thank you both! Smile

Linda - have a great time during your time away!

Moreplease - You WILL get to 60 minutes. It's a slow and steady race and hey! You're almost halfway there. Trust me, the water output regulates after a while. I'm taking in about 200 ounces of water a day and I almost never have to get up in the middle of the night. Although, I remember the first week or two - and yeah, I was up a lot during that time.

Myrna - Thank you for the pictures. I have a package of turkey bacon defrosting right now. It occurs to me too that it's lower in sodium which is a very good thing.

I have a busy, busy, day ahead of me. Several orders to package for shipment and getting ready for the spring release fragrances. Plus a mountain of laundry that really needs to be done but, I'll check in periodically. Smile

Wow, what a weekend!! But it looks like everything is back to normal here in our little slice of Cyber Heaven.Smile

I've been thinking about all of you with small children and the stress(joy) they bring. I have 3 kids. The oldest was the perfect child until he was in high school. Then he thought it was a good time to test my patience. I think the other two learned from him what not to do. My middle child is my only girl and we have always had a great relationship. She confides in me in a way most teenagers would never dream of. Then there's the baby. When he was little, my mother-in-law called him "numerous" because he was more than busy! I used to think that it would get easier as they got older but I'm here to tell you not to fall into that trap! It truly is a trap! It never gets easier. It just gets different. Cherish these moments that try your patience because they will be jewels later on.

I need to get back to work so here's my weekend checkin. I still haven't exercised. I've been struggling to keep my carbs below 20 but not going too high. I've lost 3 lbs since I stopped exercising 3 weeks ago.

Hope everyone has a GREAT Tuesday!!

Morning, all!!

Well, I have really been trying hard to stick to plan...even made 2 dinners last night: lasagna for my daughter and her boyfriend, and broiled salmon for me. So I go to bed--I was especially tired last night--and it hits! Sleep eating again!! This time an "Oatmeal Squares Attack"! I forgot the baby locks because I was just so tired (and I'd been doing really well with this lately) and didn't think about it... Oh, well. It wasn't but about 3/4 of a cup (I know because the small glass with spoon in it was on my bedside table when I woke up this morning), but STILL! What the heck?! Confused Guess I have to run an extra mile today...Geez.

Linda- If you're still around to read this, just want you to know that I totally understand what you want in this new thread. You are right: "housekeeping, really".

Group- When it comes to any new additional information, would you all rather have links or cut n' paste? I tend to be kind of a nerd, so I think links are cool. Please let me know your thoughts.

Darri- I'm sorry about your personal struggles. I totally get turning to food when things get tough. Been there myself...Only thing: it never works, and only compounds my problems. Hang in there! You've come to the right place!

Rachel- I'm so proud of you for "plugging along". Numbers on the scale can be discouraging sometimes, but stick to your guns and it'll turn around for you.

April- Way to go on the exercise!! Well done!

Jamie- You're welcome.Smile Please give me a couple days to merge the threads...I have work and a midterm due Thursday, but it'll get done.

Well, have a happy, low-carb day everybody!!

Julie - I think copy and paste would be better so that the information is right there. Maybe include a link as well, but that may be redundant.

-Edit-

I should clarify - if you're talking about the info that's going to be merged, copy and paste.
If you're talking about info that isn't on this site, in this forum, then a link should be fine.

In case you all havn't noticed...I am not the brightest crayon in the box! lol...My co-worker just asked me how many inches I had lost so far?....and I had to hang my head in shame because I did not measure myself before I started this trek....Maybe we should have a LOW-CARB DO-LIST! Just sayin...

I just read a really great article that I thought I'd share here:

Thoughts?

My Kitchen-Aid blender has died. Very sad.

I am now thinking of buying a Vitamix. Anyone own one? Can I get a review?

The thought of that much money on a small kitchen appliance makes me nausious (did I spell that right?). Although the refurbished one isn't quite as bad, still expensive just not as.

Yay! As of this morning, I am down exactly ten pounds since starting on Jan 8. I hope to pick up the pace a bit but 10 pounds in five weeks please me.

LynCaro - that is awesome!!! Congratulations on such a great loss!

April - I am not familiar with the Vitamix sorry cannot offer any info. That is too bad that your blender died!

Myrna - That may be a good idea to add under one of the threads that is being merged.

Julie - Sleep eating? You know my Husband does that if he has taken a sleeping pill...milk or cereal usually. I like links, but also understand the undertaking so I think whatever is less time consuming is fine. Good luck on the midterms!

Stacy - It is good to see you again. Exercise has been my struggle but as I mentioned previously that is my Lent commitment so I have no options but to get it done. It was not as much of a struggle when I had my elliptical but it bit the dust and I absolutely find nothing fun about the stupid stationary bike.

Hope you all are having a great low carb day!

MorePlease - I do not have a vitamix but I have a friend that does and it is absolutely amazing. It will probably be my next kitchen purchase.

LynCaro - isn't that so exciting? 10 lbs. in 5 weeks is nothing to sneeze at. Great job!

I am strangely jealous of those of you that are getting to exercise since I'm still dealing with a knee injury and I just can not do anything right now.

Myrna- What a great idea!! You will see a low carb "to do" list in the new thread. Thanks!

I have:
download the FS mobile app,
take your measurements,
read labels,
drink plenty of water,
do your homework (read about your specific plan),
ask questions

...Can anyone think of anything else?

Jaime- I've heard that sleep eating is associated with taking sleeping pills such as Ambien too. But, I didn't take anything. I wish I had--at least then I'd know what the problem is. I think I'm going to go to the doctor....

LynCaro- Fantastic weight loss!! You're doing awesome! Kuddos to you!Smile

Oooh, there's an FS ap? I'm gonna look for it right now! I, too, need to take measurements. I did download this really cool ap called "see me get fit". You record your weight every day, or whatever frequency is your preference and snap a photo. It graphs it, so you can see the difference on the scale as well as a photo. For consistency's sake, I weigh in on the same gym scale, usually once or twice a week and I take my top off so I snap a picture in my sports bra. It's really helpful on the days when I'm a little discouraged - I simply look back to when I started it and see the progress. Progress = Motivation. For me at least.

Have a great day!!

Okay, I'm done. Sir and I went another 2.5 miles (25 mins) and now I'm off to learn to sew. Y'all, I can't even sew a button and I'm nervous.

Y'all have a good night and if God graces me, I'll be back tomorrow.
