I think, while it wouldn't be a "bad" idea - I also think it's unnecessary. Part of the support part of this group is about talking to people that are actively doing it and working through it. And there are SO many low carb diets that different members are doing. It seems like a huge and almost overwhelming task.

Darri, I'm sorry you've been having a hard time. We're here for you! And you're strong, you can get through this! Smile

Jaime - thank you! Smile You guys are all so supportive, I really appreciate this group. Very Happy

Toni, I'm gonna have to buy a dehydrator so I can make some of this jerky! I would say bacon air freshener in a can would be a good idea but you just can't beat the smell of real bacon, hehe.

Angie, at this point I think we'll take what we can get! Lol, a little bit back is better than not here at all. Smile $2000 is a lot of money, isn't it? I live smack bang in the middle of two towns that both have lots of crappy fast food joints so it's always been an easy access/laziness thing. I get really frustrated with my older brother cause he's a really picky eater (so only likes a select few veges, hates salad, etc) so he's usually the one wanting to go and get fast food for dinner (it makes it hard for me too cause it's hard to avoid carbs with take out) instead of cooking at home!

I went through my closet last night cause I have a million pairs of jeans hanging in there that I never wear, so I got them all out and tried them all on, even the ones that I knew are too small, I put them on as far as I could get them. Jeans I used to fit 2 years ago, I can't even get up past my knees now. It really put into perspective how badly I've been treating my body. It gave me a good kick - I want to fit those jeans again (and I will!).

Linda, I'm happy with things the way they are - I agree with Toni, maybe a new thread would be a little bit overkill? But I'm open to whatever and am cool with whatever everyone else decides. Smile

Hey all!! I am still trying to remember names! i think it was Myrna who lost 24 pounds in 2 months....AMAZING!!!!!! That is just so inspiring.....my goal is 50 pounds, but I would be happy with 10 right now!!!!! I had a good day. Trying to eat a bit less fruit and to choose either cottage cheese or greek yogurt once a day instead of having both. I don't have a dehydrator, but I make kale chips in my oven and they are the bomb!!! I have been looking at Pinterest for recipe ideas lately...some yummy ones on there. have a great ladies!!!

Oh guys, sorry I maybe did not explain properly? I meant a merging of the threads that cover tips/info on doing the low carb diet, as we have a number of them.

Just housekeeping really, one thread would take in all the valuable info gathered from the other threads (credit will be given to the original authors) The topic can be locked with a note that comments / questions should be posted in this thread...

Definitely special topics would not be touched like the recipes, fat fast, Christies tips on using Fatsecret etc etc

Just thought it was a good idea for ppl new to low carbing to read the info' all in one place and then ask questions here...

I'm easy on this

Anyone else?

Just stopped by to say hi. Last time I posted was like page 24 or something like that. I HAVE read every post since my last post. However, I'm not going to comment on any of the posts directly.

I feel at this point I am not able to hold my act together on a regular basis long enough to **REALLY** lose weight and give decent advice. I'm yo-yoing within about a 10lb range and not really getting anywhere but I'm still plugging along. I forgot how detrimental stress can be to weight loss until now.

Happy Low Carbing to all!!!

Oh my...Kale chips are so tasty!!!! So purhcase some fresh kale and wash very thoroughly! take the leafy part off the stem and ribbing. dry. put in a single layer on a cookie sheet and lightly spray with olive oil, sprinkle with salt. Put in oven at 350 and bake until ends get crispy, but not brown. allow to cool. EAT. they are sooooo awesome!!!

Awww, Rachel... I think you'll get past this. I tend to bounce a little bit before a good drop in weight. Are you doing measurements? I was so discouraged for a while there until, I measured and realized that I had lost several inches all over. That made it a little easier to bear.

Linda, I like the idea of merging the info threads, locking them and pointing questions/comments back to this thread. I think the info is vital for success but as has been pointed out those threads aren't responded to like this daily thread. (did I articulate that correctly?) Low-carb diets are science-based. If a member doesn't understand the science it is easy to fail. Providing information that helps explain some of the nuts and bolts may prevent failure for someone. Or spur them to go and do further reading in one of the primary sources. Or come back to the check-in and ask a specific question. So yes, I support your idea.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments and support. Really touches my heart! xoxo -D

You guys are amazing. No Toni--I haven't measured in at least a month. I may try that tonight and see what's going on. I know that there are several things stacked against me right now so I'm just sticking with the plan as best as I can and hoping things break free eventually.

We have chosen a path in the road...sometimes we will hit a bump, trip on a rock, miss a corner, and slam right into a mountain....but if we just back up a little, we can get right back on the path!
