Hi all. My weight was 199 this morning, then I stepped on again to double check and it said 200....LMAO. I did not call my scale anything nice after that!!! Aunt Flo has settled in for the week do I am not expecting miracles. It is usual for me to gain 5-8 pounds from bloat and retention.

Music girl - be very careful with the Atkins bars. I put on 5 lbs. in 5 days a couple of months ago while eating one or two of those a day. A lot of people report the same kind of issue.

Myrna - glad the bacon jerky is working out for you. Smile

Dorothy - hang in there, you are doing so well!

Rachel, I'm so glad that you're back. Smile

Hey, everybody! Happy Saturday!

You all have been busy here on the boards!
Dianna- Your posts are so entertaining! I love it: "Um, what else..." Too funny!!Laughing
Myrna- Yeah for 247!! Congrats! But I don't think your ticker is working because it still says 249.2.

I spoke sweetly to my scale this morning and am happy to report that I lost another pound. 7 more to go. Geez this is going slowly. I updated my account so that anyone can see my food journal, so if you have any suggestions please let me know.

Now I have a date with "Grinn & Barrett". I'll check in later. Have a great morning, everyone!

Good job Julie. Here's to everyone having a great day and weekend, may the tempting gawds leave you all alone.

I have to go meet up with Wally then have the joy of doing laundry. Must make time to shovel this snow too, what a mess out there but today the sun is shining, it's really quite pretty.

Well, not the results I was hoping for. up .2 pounds. Started my period so I know that is why there is no loss showing. Today is my cheat day; already had some waffles, a cookie and a couple pieces of bacon! YUMMO. Have a great day ladies, thanks for all your support.

Thanks ladies for the tips about the Atkins bars. I think that's what my problem is. I was eating about 2/day, and those were the days with no loss. So, I going to go for a week w/o any and see if that helps. I know they say there are ony so many "net" grams of carbs, but I still think it must have some impact on weight loss.

Oh, I forgot to mention - my weigh-in today showed another .2 GAINED. But that was pre-Atkins bar warning. So, I'm going to do great in the next few days!!! HAVE A WONDERFUL SATURDAY.

Hello, again!

Myrna- Did you have a chance to check my food journal? Is that what you were referring to? Also, where in Florida are you? I'm in Orlando! (I know- questions, questions...)

Music Girl- It's great that you are going to ditch the Atkins bars for a while to see where that takes you. I have one suggestion: find something low carb that you like to snack on and have it prepared before the craving hits. You can never be too prepared. How about celery with blue cheese dressing? Or, a one-ounce cheese stick? (I think you can have one one-ounce cheese stick a day on induction.) I don't know...whatever you like that is low carb...Good luck!Very Happy

Lady Dianna- Where are you today???? Confused

Happy low carb day to all!

Ugh, I'm here. I feel like a slug.

I'm so sleeeeepy today. At work trying to be creative and make up some new flyers for events. BLAH.

So my cheat meal was yesterday - good ol' mexican food. *sigh* carnitas. I didn't do the rice & beans, but I did a little dessert. I kept the portion down, but I did have half a cookie, half a piece of cheesecake, and half a cupcake. The boy had the other half. He is very supportive with this whole eating well thing. It's not too hard for him anyway, he is pescatarian which is basically a vegetarian who occassionally will eat fish. Been that way since 2000 and says he's never felt better. BUT, he is so not low carb. He is super active, and doesn't have the propensity to grow saddlebags if I carb badly. So my cheat meal had to be about 600 cals at least. OY!!!! Mexican food is not my fav - I can have that any day of the week, I grew up on it and if I really want it, the best in town is in my moms kitchen or the the boy's moms kitchen. To me, an ideal cheat meal is something I can't make - something I wish I could make. I feel cheated by my cheat meal.

I hope the rest of today is cleaner.

Congrats to all who had a good week, and here is to a great new low carb week ahead for us to make better choices if we had a bad week, and to continue to make good food choices those of you who did well this last week.

Also, I had a bad tail end of the week workout wise. I didn't have the intensity I needed to, and didn't push my limits. I stayed where it was doable.

Julie I'm so impressed with how consistent you are with Grin & Barrett. I need to up my intensity this coming week.

Thanks, Di- nice of you to say that. Running 5 miles a day is definitely tough. Sometimes it's tolerable, but sometimes I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy! Today wasn't so bad.

Food for thought: Sometimes when I have a big, carb-loaded meal I feel sluggish the next day too. Not to say that you shouldn't have a cheat day, because I think you should to keep your metabolism guessing (personally, my goal is to cycle my carbs)...I'm just saying that maybe that is what is what's making you so tired. Then again, what do I know? Question Anyway, it's good to hear from you! Hang in there at work!

Oh, I am SURE those sweet did not help me at all. It is also my sleep... I struggle to get back to sleep when something wakes me up in the middle of the night. I'm one of those people who NEED a full nights sleep. Some people really do ok with only 5-6 hours, NOT me... That, and the sweets did not help me at all. My cheat meal wasn't so carb loaded at all - it was the cheat DESSERT!! LOL!!!

When it is not so friggin' cold outside, I will start running outside too because it is so much nicer than running indoors. But for the winter months, indoor running is cozy Smile My hats off to you girl!!

Julie: No, I wasa talking about how the last 10 are the hardest...BUT, I did go look at your journal..I would suggest backing off the splenda, use real cream instead of non-dairy creamer, spread out the veggies throughout the week, and drop your carbs lower. I love my veggies....so I am trying to have a veggie a day, not like I used to...Might as well have has a trough! OINK

My trough resides in Kissimmee / St.Cloud...hop, skip and a jump from you!

Lady Di: You should probley go to bed earlier tonight....Now this is going to sound weird...but guzzle a xup of coffee and go straight to bed....you'll understand if you do it. It's like giving a hyper child a Mnt Dew...has the opposite effect! Wink

Are you sure? I'm kind of scared to do that...what IF it keeps me up all night? You BETTER be on FS message board to keep me company if thats the case, LOL!!

But, I will try it. I love coffee. I can drink a whole pot all to myself. I hate anything in it, just plain ol' black coffee...yum...
