Wondering if any of you have had to deal with coumadin or warfarin? Seems every vegetable I can have is exactly the ones DH can't have due to Vitamin K. This making different ones all the time is not only boring it bothers him as he really likes most of them. Anyone have yukky vegetables that a spouse wouldn't want?

Beware that some beets and such snuck in in you're staying really low carb, but most look ok.

Welcome Kayellr! I'm new here too, it's a great group.

Sunkeeper - I love your determination. Especially inspiring was when you wrote: "the stubborness in me that won't let it defeat me. One way or another, I'm going to win" WELL SAID! I love reading your posts.

Linda - so jealous. Melbourne. One of my bucket list items is to watch a match at Rod Laver Arena at the Australian Open. Have a safe trip.

Rowanfair - thanks for the list, I will try to read up on it. I, luckily, do not have any aversions to gluten and my grains are limited, and I consume them in the morning when I'm most active. They help fuel me so long as it is in moderation. With many things, moderation and self control is the key. I feel for those with aversions to anything. No fun. I have an aversion to the fact that I have no aversion to cookies.

Myrna - BORING day at work here too...I say we start a baby names list for Julie's running shoes. I work at a private golf course and it just started to rain, so it will be another slow day.

Julie - Yes, you can call me Dianna. Ms. Jackson if you're nasty.. A child of the 80's, I love me some Janet Jackson and I could not resist. Glad you couldn't see the super ackward hair flip dance I did as I was typing it.

Yeah, and those pesky last 10 lbs. They are the hardest ever. Poop! So, I think since Myrna and I are bored at work we will probably start a baby name list for your dear running shoes. You kick butt girl! Good job!

I'm going to figure out how to post photos. I just downloaded pics off my camera of my daughter in her rapunzel wig watching Tangled. It's like she must get dolled up to watch it. She runs to dig out her ratty-looking blond wig and puts on her princess plastic heels to watch her some Tangled. Hilarious.

Thanks for the link kaye, that's pretty much what we've been living on, green beans, turnip and mushrooms with the odd zucchini thrown in. I don't think I'll be doing the beets for a while, pretty high in carbs.

I thought with all these people someone might have found a magic food, it's one of those days where I just can't take the end off another green bean.

Guess we all have our challenges. We shall rise above them though, how can the world stop us? Banding together we'll do this and anything else life throws at us, right?

Name Julie's Running Shoes:

1. Taylor & Swift (for speed, right?)
2. Ben & Jerry (like you're pounding the jerks into the pavement)

So far that's all I got. I'll report back later when I'm brighter.

Possible names for my running shoes:

How about "Grinn & Barrett"? (Get it? Grin and bear it!) That's what I had to do this morning to get through my run...so sore!

Dianna- I'm a child of the 80s myself! Love me some Janet Jackson!! (I'm 42, hence the name "Julie42".)
Thanks for starting a baby names list for my running shoes. You rock!

Rockmela- Hang in there. It could just be water weight. I find that if I weigh in before I run I am 2 lbs. heavier than if I weigh in after I run--just 1 hour later! 2 whole lbs.!! (That's why I always record my weight right after a sweaty run! LOL) So, you may be just holding onto water...

Sunkeeper- Your words motivate me and I appreciate that. Thank you so much!!

I LOVE THIS GROUP!!!!Very Happy

Rockmela - did you try to tinkle, burp or fart? Helps! It is proven.

Sorry sweetie, I'm just trying to cheer you up.

Sunkeeper have you tried roasting the green beans? They taste totally different and are VERY good.

Child of the 80's here!!! Love me some 80's music!!!

I am sorry that I have been MIA the last several days but hopefully things are settling to breathing pace.

Lent is coming up and for those of you that practice lent I joined a challenge. However, I am not giving up something so much as doing something that I hate to do and have not been successful at. That is some sort of daily exercise. So I will give a minimum of 20 minutes and use that time to meditate and if it means LOSING my looooong afternoon bath then that is what I will do. God has been really good to me in all things but in this aspect of making the body he gave me healthier and taking better care of it he has given me the strength to stay on track and get back on when I deviate. This is the next step (in taking better care of the body he gave me) that I need to practice discipline and self-control in.

Hey Group: You know we're getting pretty popular. There are a lot more lurkers out there than we know! I just got an email from a gal who liked what I said on the board, but wasn't involved in the conversation. I guess she's in our group...has to be, right? Anyway, to whoever is out there: Come on in...the water is fine!! Very Happy

We have chosen a path in the road...sometimes we will hit a bump, trip on a rock, miss a corner, and slam right into a mountain....but if we just back up a little, we can get right back on the path!

Hi All,

I am a new member to this group and you all seem fantastic! I am newly trying to follow a low carb diet with an emphases on higher protein to maintain muscle. The goal is to be strong not just skinny! I work out almost everyday with different activities.

I am torn between really low carbs and my love for sweet bell peppers, broccoli and cauliflower. I seriously could eat an entire bag of mini peppers a day but eating these throw my carbs in to the higher ranks of any program.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks all! Keep up the inspirational work!

Hi, Tulumwed!! Welcome!Smile

Your goals seem right on--strong, not just skinny. I'm confused by your concern, though. I've been eating broccoli the entire time I've been low-carbing, and I hear cauliflower is fine. In fact, we have some low carb cauliflower recipes in our recipe forum. (However, I don't know about the sweet bell peppers because I personally don't like bell peppers.) Why don't you try logging some of these foods in your FS food journal and see what comes up for "net carbs"? (You may need to set your food journal to show net carbs, but it's fairly simple to do.) I bet you'll be happily surprised! Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck!

Checking in for the day/afternoon.. A little frustrated.. not just with the dieting just feeling a little overwhelmed.. LIFE.. THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!

This is a second go round with me.. I have 2 young adults (kids) then I have the twins.. so I am fully aware that it doesn't get easier!! lol lol lol.. When I heard the ladies talking about their kids in the store I thought about my twins and was happy to say - "at least I'm not the only one!" lol lol lol

Danzaldo - pic of your daughter with the wig watching the movie is too cute .. reminds me of my 2yr old grandson when he watches CARS he goes and gets all his CARS accessories and sits right in front of the tv and won't move!

Everyone is positive and I love the chattering.. Still haven't come up with a name for the exercise bike - I better get to it Very Happy Didn't visit her this morning, so hopefully I will feel like exercising before the day is out.

Thanks Toni for your words.. You're right it just matters that I get back on track.. For me it's the guilt that has consumed me since I had that one cheat day..

Julie.. I am overdue for a new picture.. Last pic I posted was 1st week of January and I said I was going to do it 1st week of February.. I will get to it soon! You're doing great, 8 pounds to go - that speaks volume!

I like the name for the shoes Ben & Jerry or Grinn& Barrett! Too funny!

Want to comment on more - soooo much! Hi to all the newbies!
