Ok, thanks - I will try all those. I do think this site is cool enough - the food tools and this SUPER RAD GROUP OF PEOPLE I chit chat with is enough for me, but if I can get exercise in there that would be super cool.

Myrna - I would loooove to take my little one to a movie. But I don't think I would survive... The other people in the theatre would collectively throw us out! She is still pretty toddler like, even though she is super tall and gets confused for a 4 year old. I sometimes get those looks, you know THE looks, from other moms of older kids who aren't throwing a tantrum in the middle of aisle 6, looking at me like "your daughter should know better by now". To those moms I wanna say: SHE IS 2 1/2!!!! NOT 4!!!!!! AND DON'T ACT LIKE YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN HERE!!!!!!!

There. Thank you for allowing me to vent. I am better now - that almost felt as good as real yelling. Almost.

Enjoy that movie with your kids. Snuggle them tightly, time flies as you already know. I will watch one with mine tonight, from the cozy bean bag chairs in her room where she can throw popcorn, interrupt, sing and dance, etc....

Hi Everyone!! like I always say - I am gone or missing for a day or two and goodness so much to catch up on! I love how everyone is being so interactive with one another the group is growing growing and growing!! I've been keeping up with my exercise daily, been back on track since my slip up on Super bowl Sunday and I'm feeling good. So we will see what the scale says tomorrow morning.. Appears everyone is doing well - we have to hang in there.. I apologize for this long post - just want to make a few comments.

ANGIE!!! So glad that you are back and posting.. I know you are trying your hardest to get back.. You have been an inspiration for all of us! Knowing that you have embraced the lifestyle and going to continue on this journey speaks alot of volume..I missed your daily chats and teachings!

Danzaldo.... You have been a busy chatter box! We love that here in this group! Coming on here and seeing your posts is nice. We Don't want you to leave the group.. yes the majority of us here are low carbers but that doesn't mean you have to be excluded.. EVERYONE NEEDS SUPPORT glad that you have found a place to get it! If you decide to reduce your carbs fine - if not your choice.. I personally enjoy your posts! We all need support and motivation.

P.S. Danzaldo.. I understand your adventures with your 4yr old. I have 4yr old twin boys and at times I cringe when I have to run an errand with them (store, etc) .. If people look shame on them..

Rockmela.. Normally, when starting Atkins/Induction you shoot for 20 net carbs daily.. Once your body adjusts you increase the carbs gradually.. The idea that you are eating healthier - veggies no grains is a WONDERFUL START! KUDOS to you!

Sunkeeper.. You have to make yourself EAT! I know how it is when busy and can't eat.. Just try to snack .. don't want to go all day without eating.. Keep up the good work!

Stacey.. Glad to see you're back.. Work your way back up to the exercise.. Day by Day!

Ray.... Stick with the plan.. Don't give up.. Angie has given you great advice! If that doesn't work your body is probably trying to adjust to the new weight.. Once it adjusts your numbers will be going down again.

Myrna.. Keep up the good work - working out.. I work everyday on my bike.. If I miss a day I feel like poo poo! I have to name the bike.. I think I will because you have named yours George! lol lol lol

Hope everyone had a great day! Very Happy

I'm doing some research on the CARB ~VS~ NETCARB and I ran across this and thought you all might be interested.

The support on this board is crazy awesome. I have a 4 year old too and a 2 year old...both boys! Super fun and both hockey nuts!!!!!!

Plus it was kinda written so I could understand it! ha! Information is the key to finding something that works for each and everyone of us!

I was also reading some posts from people who wanted to know if you should TINKLE before you weigh yourself...LMAO...NAW...lets drink a gallon of water and then jump on the scale!!!

Goodnight and Low Carb dreams!

Um, I tinkle before I weigh in. I also burp, and exhale, just in case.

Totally joking.

Anyhoo, clarification: my daughter is 2 and a half - but looks 4 because she is so tall. The ex-husband is 6'4" so that was his one contribution, because my baby looks like a mini me. THANK GOD!! I know, that's mean... but I can allow the little pissy Dianna a voice here and there, right?

Did I work out like a boss tonight, like I told Julie? Um, no. I'd say I worked out like a mid-level supervisor? It was all I could muster at 6:15pm after feeding the toddler that refuses to eat. 40 mi nutes cardio, but I have to admit it wasn't all out dripping sweat on the equipment intensity. I broke a good sweat, but I didn't have it in me to push hard. Oh, well. Tomorrow will be another day.

Ok, so something embarrassing happened at work. I hardboil a ton of eggs, peel and ditch the yolks and pack up just the whites to snack on at work for the clean protein. So, as you know - opening that airtight container containing 10 egg whites is like opening a can of peeeew. Total egg smell. I usually open it super quickly, take a few of my egg whites out and seal it back up and wave a manilla folder around to get the smell out of my tiny office. So today I was all clumbsy jello-like fingers and the lid went flying and I scrambled to get it and put the damn thing on the egg-s##t-smell container as fast as I could but all the smell had filled my office as the bookkeeper walks in. I told her, hey - sorry, it smells like eggs in here because I AM EATING EGGS. NOTHING ELSE, OKAAAY? She just said, "oki doki" in that sing-songey "yeah sure, count flatula" kind of way. Crap.

Julie and Ray, I hope some of those things work for you. I didn't used to count the sweetener that I used for my coffee, either, then I realized that one little packet of Splenda has .9 carbs Shock I also have to have creamer in my coffee, I like it "blonde" lol, so I experimented for a while with different sweeteners and creamers. I finally settled on Truvia and Sugar-Free CoffeeMate (various flavors). From the research I've done, the Truvia actually contains no carbs. Some people prefer to use liquid sweetener, which also has no carbs, I believe(?).

As for weighing, I weigh totally naked, after tinkling, burping, exhaling, and anything else that needs to be expectorated. Totally not kidding LOL Razz

And, just for the record, anyone is more than welcome to look at my Food Diary. I'm an open book Smile I've fairly recently started listing all of my veggies under the same section so that I can make sure I'm getting enough daily, so if my "meals" look odd, that's why Smile

Linda, have an awesome time in Melbourne and painting with the girls! Take care and safe travels! <3

After reading all the stories about the young children some of you have been talking about, I'm very glad that my twins are almost 15 now and no longer "little". Lord, do I ever remember THOSE days! Rolling Eyes Bless your hearts! And btw, it does not get better or easier, it just changes lol. Sorry to be a bubble-buster lol Bad Grin

Good morning, another day ahead of us and it's going to be a good one, right?

BBD5, I did eat, had a wonderful salad in amongst the frustration of the day.

Myrna, the carriers aren't doing that right now with the line ups for the Z10. 100 or so people waiting behind you it wouldn't go over well. Being illiterate at these sorts of things makes it a challenge though it's just another thing that won't defeat me, I'm way to stubborn. How did you make out at the doctor about your knee? Don't want George feeling stood up for to long, lol. That net carb article is interesting, hummmm, now do we count them or don't we?

Like Myrna, I named my treadmill quite some time ago, he's Wally and even has a surname, Walker! Wally Walker and I have a date at least once a day and depending on how cold it is it could be lengthy as he's great at working me up in a sweat, what a guy!

To much snow around these parts this time of year to even think about doing an outside journey but spring is coming, after this new storm hits us tonight of coarse. What did that stupid varmit say about spring again? Oh yes, early spring, rofl.

Julie, glad your energy level is back up, you go girl! Nice when your in control isn't it rather than your body telling you it's to much trouble. It's tough some days but well worth the fight.

Linda, you have a blast, sounds like a wonderful time with both excursions. Your so close to your goal, hope you can stay on track.

As for weigh ins, I'm at the point where I tinkle, fart, burp and even blow my nose to see if that helps, I'll take every ounce down at this point. It gets really tough when you go for a couple months and everything works the way it's suppose to and how you like it then you hit the brick wall where it seems nothing you do works at all. I know, I know, it's adjustment but but but, I HATE it! I still have all the motivation, drive and again, the stubbornness in me that won't let it defeat me. One way or another I'm going to win here.

Wish I could take my body to the cell phone carrier and have them "restore" it to the old values. If we can go to the moon and mars now, why hasn't someone figured out how to do a body restore? I guess that's the whole point of do overs, they just don't happen do they?

Good morning, Group!! Happy Thursday!

I woke up in the middle of the night last night with a carb locks were in place, and I was aware, so I quickly grabbed a small piece of cheese and headed back to bed. Success!!Smile I don't get cravings at all during the day--but, oh those nights can be difficult sometimes. I have no idea why...

Thanks to all of you who submitted photos (Myrna, BBD5, etc.). It's so nice to put a face with the name. I submitted one at 8 lbs. from goal! (The last 10 are ALWAYS the toughest. Right, Danzaldo?)

Myrna- That was a very interesting article on net carbs. Thanks for doing the research and sharing. Like I said before, you have to read, read, read!!

Linda- Have a wonderful trip! We'll "see" you when you return.

Angie- I hear you about our kids growing up. My daughter just turned 16 and she now has her own car. Scary!! I don't know where the time went! You are right--it doesn't get easier, it's just that the problems are different.

Danzaldo- (Can I call you Dianna?) Great story about the eggs at work!! I was laughing reading it!! Laughing I love the fact that you check in so often...I find myself checking in several times a day just to see what you've written! Ok, you caught me...I've been lurking around! LOL

Well, I have a date with my running shoes. (Should I name them??) I'm shooting for 4.5 miles this morning...I'm kinda sore from yesterday's workout.

Have a great day, everyone!

JULIE...remember when you name your shoes, there are 2 of them...Like twins! lol

I am enjoying the research...If I hadn't found this group, I would probley still be doing everything wrong and not losing weight...but this group of wonderful people have taught me that INFORMATION IS KNOWLEDGE and without it we will not go anywhere!

SUNKEEPER: I like the way you think...A restore button for the body would be great!

ANGIE: Thanks for the headsup! SHould I crawl under the rock and hide now while they are still young??? Smile

LINDA: Enjoy yourself! Be safe!

DANZALDO: Funny thing about them egg smells! Might want to get a little fan for your little office!

About what you do before you weigh in....Laughing at all the comments! Too funny...the cat tried to get on the scale with me the last time and I had to run him off 3 times before I finally shooed him out the door and closed it...he doesn't weigh much...but I din't need his help!

Have a great Low Carb day! If it is slow again at work...I'll be a little chatterbox! Razz

Hello to all the new members!
Angie and Christie, it is SO good to see you guys back. I have missed you tons.

Dorothy - It matters not how many times you slip. What matters is how many times you get back up.

I will have to sit down and read all of the posts that I've missed.

I've been on track with my WOE, I've just been super busy working on spring fragrances for launch (hopefully) this week.

My weight is starting to come back down again and I weighed in this morning at 174.3. YAY! I'm so excited to see the 160's and ~fingers crossed~ that will be sooner rather than later.

I'm off to work but I wanted to stop in to say, "hello". Smile
Have a great day, all!

Welcome kayellr and a big congrats on your efforts so far. Keep it up and you'll be on maintenance before you know it!

Good luck with the spring launch Toni!

Myrna, another thing, if our bodies are 60% or more of water why don't we have a tap that we can just turn on and off when needed? I guess sorta in a way we do but my tap never drains as much as I'd like it to. Guess that's not something a plumber could fix though, dam.

Danzaldo said, "I don't think I will ever see whole grains as bad."

I thought I would mention the book Wheat Belly: Lose the Wheat, Lose the Weight, and Find Your Path Back to Health by William Davis and the The Wheat Belly blog

One of the things I learned from it was that in the last 50-60 years wheat has 14 new glutens it didn't have in our forebears day. That is why gluten sensitivity is so much on the rise. I think that Dr. Davis goes overboard a bit but it is a really interesting read.

Julie and Sunkeeper, thanks for the welcome. I'm really pleased at the numbers too! I actually was showing on the scale at 1.5 pounds lower than todays number a few days ago, but I started lifting weights again 2 days ago, and that can lead to some water weight gain, so it's all good. And the ketosis is making my brain feel happy, so that's the biggest plus of all.
