Thank you Sunkeeper, Sue, and Gwen Smile I'm not quite ready to maintain just yet. I plan on continuing to eat the way I have been, which is strictly Induction foods, until I've lost a bit more. No clue how long that will take, but it doesn't matter. This is how I eat, and like I've said before, the days are gonna go by anyway lol.. The other day, I was wondering to myself if I felt like I had lost any more. I only weigh every week to 10 days, so I don't think about it much. Anyway, as I was thinking, I asked myself, "Well, are you trying?".. my answer came back as, "No, I just eat." LOL .. That's how you know you've found what works for you Smile

Stuck. Stuck stuck stuck. 7 days on plan (<20g) with essentially zero weight movement. Not sure why. Cals have been up, but that didn't matter the last time I tried this. Not enough water? Dunno.

Edit: is there a way to get notifications if someone replies to your post?

I can't quite wrap my head around commenting on all the individual posts, but good for you those who have lost or had other triumphs and comfort those those whose day(s) have been difficult.

Things are pretty good here. I had a goat cheese and lardon crepe on Saturday and it was awesome. Trying to log it on FS is hard because I have no idea what the values are other than the menu says 2g carb. Oh well, I manage.

I'm not actually buddies with folks here (being so new) so I'm going to restate something I posted in my journal today. I saw this blog post http://myfriendteresablog.com/so-youre-feeling-too-fat-to-be-photographed/ and it really hit home. I'm going to try to be more chill about having my picture taken. Having my hair dyed pink has helped. Hmm, I wonder if I have any pink hair pix in my FS album. Probably not since I've been inactive for awhile. I think I'll go check on that.

Julie, same thing here. WTH is mediation. I had some time, sat down and wrote lots of stuff, replied to stuff, and hit post only to be told my stuff is going to lala land for no good reason - I didn't even curse! Ha!

Anyhoo, late checking in. I really need to get more sleep. Aparently in my sleep I turned off my alarm. My subconcious is telling me I need more sleep. So I was and hour late for work, luckily no one cares here but still. NO GYM, and my afternoon is booked solid: I'm in dire need of a nail fix - about a week overdue and my hands look raggedy, my daughter has a Bday party to go to at 5pm (on a TUESDAY? Really mom? You thought this was a good idea? Grrr!!!), and I have to pick up a friend at the airport at 7pm. By the time I get back there will be no desire for cooking or working out. Luckily I cook in bulk so I have healthy meals in the fridge to microwave but STILL. I'm of that nature that if I skip a gym day early in the week, it is really easy for me skip another day down the week, or worse - skip two days in a row. I'm a little frazzled but I will budget my calories tonight to allow for a glass of wine and all will be right in the world. I'm sure the FS database has caloric info on MERLOT.

A good afternoon to all, I hope you all had a great day.

Ray D., you are a better man than I for attempting less than 20g's. Stay on it, it will happen!

Can I post please, Oh, Fat Secret Gods??! Geez! Finally!! (lol)

Angie- Thank you so much for deleting any of my extra posts...so sorry about that. And, have I told you yet what an inspiration you are to us all?

Ray- I'm stuck and confused too...can't understand it. I've kept my net carbs under 20 for 2 weeks, and my calories under 1300! Crying or Very sad

Danzaldo- I emailed FS to get out of "mediation". What a pain!! By the way, how's your energy level when you work out??

Vcravener- Yeah for the 2 lbs!! You go girl!

I'll check in later on...have a great night everyone!

LOL Julie42, you're welcome, and thank you Smile I'm glad the Gods have allowed you to post now. Several others in this group have had that same problem in the past. Not certain what causes it to happen, but I know that it's frustrating.

Ray, I've taken a look at the past 7 days in your Food Diary. The first thing I notice is that you're not eating very many vegetables (if any, on some days). During the Induction Phase of Atkins, 12-15 of your net carbs should come from veggies, preferably the green, leafy kind.

Also, I would suggest that you cut out the diet bars and shakes, and also any other sugar-free products. Sugar alcohol is well-known for causing stalls. During Induction, it's okay to use a sugar substitute in things like tea or coffee, but it should be used in moderation.

You might try those things for a week and see if you begin to lose Smile

Julie42, I can't see any of your information or your Food Diary, but I will say that if you are eating below 1300 calories and exercising 4-5 days a week, you're probably not eating enough calories. I'm 5 feet tall, weigh 163 and am not active at all, and my RDI for calories is 1400. Have FatSecret calculate your RDI, stay around that number for a week, and see if there is a loss.

A lot of this is finding what works for us individually, so there's a lot of trial and error.

Hi all! As you know I was a little whiny yesterday...I was over it last night....I did however eat a few extra carbs..Not because I was depressed, OK, maybe just a little....my children wanted jello with peaches in it...so I made it. Did they eat it....NNNOOOO...but Mom did last night...jello was sugar free...peaches were not! I din't jump out of ketosis, so happy about that...Today was a new day and I decided I am eating too late in the evening. Not enough fat either...So, I did tomorrows food journal today and I upped the fat and I am not eating after 5.

My knee is wacked...so I guess GEORGE and I are not going to be seeing each other for awhile...

Julie: MY fatsecret is an open book...look anywhere you would like...I have it that way so if anyone can help me, or anyone can be helped by anything I am doing...then we all win! We are all in this together...That is why we joined fatsecret and this group....SUPPORT!

ANGIE! You are an inspiration to us all...and I really liked the
insight you gave us into your life! Stay thin my friend!

I tried the Coconut oil in my coffee...the first time was alittle rough...but the second time was better..

Everyone have a great evening! Low carb dreams!

Good morning, Group! I hope that everyone is doing well and today finds you healthy and happy!

Weighed in this morning, and have lost 1.5 lbs., but I want to see more!!!

Angie- I read your what you told Ray, and I think I've found the culprit...sugar alcohols! I haven't been logging my Splenda at all, and I have a large coffee every morning and I put about 3 tablespoons of Splenda (I know it sounds like a lot, but I can't stand the bitter taste of coffee) in it to get it to where I can drink it. Counts for 6 carbs that I didn't even know about. Oh, well...live and learn.
I'm also going to take your advice and up my calories to what FS recommends (which is 1600, and I think that's kind of high) and see what happens. Thanks for your help!

Have a great LC day everyone!Smile

WAY TO GO JULIE!!! That sugar alcohols is a sneaky little booger!

I used to snicker at people in a restaurant ordering the DIET PLATE...and here I sit eating a hamburger patty and slice tomato...hanging my head low in shame! Taste good!

Good morning dear FSers!

MyrnaL - no frets...I was whiny too. I think I just really needed a day to sleep in a little and skip the gym. I re-read my whiny post and I was like, "sheesh - who wept in your wheaties, girl? All that cuz you slept in?"

Julie - If I work out in the morning (5am) its hard to get up and crawl in my gym clothes, but once I'm at the gym and my favorite playlist is playing on my ipod - I am good to go and high enery.

** Please don't kick me out of this group if you peek at my food diary, I am not as low carb as I thought. I realize I eat a lot more carbs than folks here, BUT I consider my eating habits low carb, I do need some complex carbs to work out, I could not do it otherwise. My hats off to you ladies who can eat 20gs of cars a day and can exrcise. **

Once my sleepy butt is at the gym at 5am, it's great. I get my cardio out of the way then hit the weights unless its long cardio day. BUT...if I skip the morning workout and go in the afternoon, after work and all that crap, my energy level is considerably less. Plus, the after work crowd really sucks. Most gyms have a ton of big heavy dumbells, but only 1 set of each in the smaller 20's, 15's, 12.5's,10's etc... for a frame like mine, with my personal goals, I need these smaller weights and I find myself waiting or tweaking my workout around what weight is available because all the ladies are still on their new years resolutions (go ladies!!! woot woot!!). So, morning is best - at 5am the crowd is wee small, just a few elderly folks and about 3 meatheads (the boys who lift dumbells that weigh as much as me) so the small weights are MINE, aaaaallll mine and my energy level has yet to be depleted by work, traffic, toddler chasing, etc...

I skipped it this morning, but my daughter likes the gym kids room so a couple times a week I take her with me in the afternoon.

LOL danzaldo! George is my exercise bike...we kinda named him...as the husband says I must have a boyfriend because I am losing weight! So my boyfriend is George...my bike! But, my knee has really kicked up on the inflamation...so I am going to go see the doctor and see what he says....but I can still do the "Fitness DX".
Razz Sorry for all the posts...but it is soooo boring today at work... zzzzzzzzzExclamation

Read a wonderful quote this morning....Audrey Hepburn said, "Nothing is impossible, the word itself says, 'I'm possible.'"

Thanks, I needed to be reminded that sugar alcohols are sneaky. Have enjoyed a couple Atkins products this week and then remembered that they contain sugar alcohol....deadly for me!!!!
