Vcravener...you've reminded me that somewhere in my home is a Zumba game for my Xbox and the Kinect that the husbeast bought me for a birthday a couple of years ago in the hopes I'd use it for exercise...

Wow.. That's all you can eat is the cream cheese? is this by choice? With all the talk of the fast I wanted to do it but I just don't think I could go a whole day without eating.. Can't wait to hear about the success of those of you doing the Fast..

No you can have more than cream cheese. Bacon, avocados, macadamia nuts, egg yolks. Chicken or tuna salad made with a real, high fat mayonnaise. I just discovered that pepperoni has exactly the right ratio of fat. You have to get creative but it's do-able.

Good Morning...I am a bad girl! I am hiding from my exercise bike! My knee just said no. So I threw my jeans on it last night so it couldn't mock me! I'll suck it up today and take an aspirin! Have a great day everyone!

WOO HOO...I checked my ketone levels this morning and I am PURPLE. I've been doing Atkins pretty strictly since November and this is the first purple I've gotten. It's going to make the last day of my fat fast much easier to tolerate!!!

I am so discouraged today. Try as I might, record what goes in and exercise every day the scales are still going up rather than down. I just don't understand it.

What is the fat fast? I've been on 20 or less carbs for about a month now and am stalling. I haven't lost anything this week, not even inches. I'm still sm-mod on sticks. I've lost 10lbs overall. While losing is good, I really want to get to my mini goal of under 200lbs. Over the past 4yrs I've not been able to get below 200, even with a lap band (now unfilled).
I'm also seeing my naturopath today to see what he says. I hear if I keep it up, it WILL come off. I just want to boost it if I can.

thx,
Stephanie

I've posted some recipes for the fat fast. It says my message is awaiting moderation and will post soon. In the original Atkins diet book, he presented this as an option when you had a stall or if you wanted to jump start ketosis. It's basically 1000 calories per day with 90% fat, for 3-5 days. Then, if that works, you can up it to 1200 calories per day for another few days. There may be health risks associated for people with health or heart issues, which may be why he didn't include it in the next book. But people do it and have been successful with it. I'm gonna try it to jumpstart mine.

Here is another link about the fat fast with some suggestions in it for food. I think I am trying my own version of it today since we are going out tomorrow night and I will have wine....and TOM is binding me up. I think you are supposed to try for 90% fat. My version didn't make it but still not too bad.

http://www.carbsmart.com/fatfast.html

Tomorrow I will fast and then break the fast at dinner (so fast from dinner tonight until tomorrow). DH got the smack down from his doctor. I wrote about it in my journal in more detail, but suffice it to say that he will want to start watching his carbs some...haha....that means really that I will have to start counting his and mine. Oh joy. On the upside it might mean less temptation for me...lol.

Sunkeeper, are you eating your daily allowance of carbs? Sometimes I find that if I eat below 20, I don't lose. You would think that NOT eating the carbs would make you lose. But it seems to me that you have to give your body lots of good carbs to go along with the protein. Just a thought. Hang in there!!

Yes, Jaime, those are the recipes I tried to post. You're smart for just posting the link. I'm going to try it. I've been doing the 8hour eat/fast 16 hours and have lost 3 pounds but I'm going to see if the fat fast will jump start me. Very Happy

Sunkeeper can you post what you are eating so we can take a look? If it is visible then there are at least a few that will take a look if you are struggling and can give some suggestions.

Sarah - looks like we are on the same page right now...lol! Good luck!

Checking in this afternoon..my personalized fat fast is going well so far. it is 12:35pm pst and I just had my lunch...2 oz of chicken salad and 1 oz of cheese. I do not feel hungry at all. Had my bullet coffee mid morning (between breakfast and lunch) and will possibly have another later this afternoon (I figured for two). Still have my Rockstar and a deviled egg that I can also have this afternoon. So I may save the coffee for later and then do the egg some time after dinner. I hope you are all having a great day.

Jaime,

For your bulletproof coffee, do you use the grass fed butter and organic coffee and MLT .. or do you just use coffee, butter and coconut oil?

Thanks!

Sarah, I just use challenge whipped butter, LouAnne Coconut Oil and my K-cup coffee (I also add some torani sugar free vanilla syrup cause I need some sort of flavor). It is very filling though and I have had success with it.

Hi!! Very Happy I miss you guys so much!

I'm doing fine food-wise. I plan on weighing in this Friday and I'm hopeful that I'll have met my 165 goal by then!

Computer situation is still the same for now Sad Plus, now our modem is going out. It just continuously goes off and on. So frustrating Mad I've only had the patience lately to sign on, log my food, and sign off. On top of that, we had family visiting from out of town for 3 days. I'm hoping my computer situation will be fixed by the first of the month, if not sooner.

Hang in there everyone! Eat your veggies, log your food, and drink your water! Water water water! Very Happy (Just had to say that for old times sake lol) Remember, even if the pounds aren't coming off as fast as you'd like, you're trying, and that's a very important step! Once you figure out how this works for you, it'll be like you're not even trying. It may take a while, but it's so worth it Smile

I actually got asked out a couple of days ago by a long-time friend to go to his brother's wedding in Nebraska. It's not until May, but I'm so excited and for the first time in my life, I'm not even worried about how I will look. That's an indescribable feeling and so foreign to me. He's even gonna take me shopping ahead of time for a dress Smile I can't wait! Very Happy

I'll check back in when the computer is free and the internet isn't being a stupid-head lol

WoooOOOooo Angie! You go girl! A date that's gonna take you shopping? He sounds like the perfect man, hehe. Sucks about your computer and your modem, hopefully you can get it fixed soon - we miss you!

Good luck with your weigh-in on Friday. Very Happy
