Hi, everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself. I am starting Atkins again. I have used this site before, and I really like it. The one thing I didn't do the last time was use all of the support available. I hope to meet some great people here for support, and I hope to lend support, too!

Tried a couple of other diets but they just don't work...so back to the tried and true looking forward to getting to know everyone on here Smile

Hello all. I'm Bill, and I am starting back after the holidays. Took a break the week of Thanksgiving, and took another break the 19th of December to 4 January. I have already lost six pounds again. I am at 229, trying to get to 174. Yes, a very odd goal. I started at 270, and 174 was what I weighed when I joined the Air Force with the Wright brothers. Send me an e-mail and I'll tell the you the odd story about the goal weight.

Hello fellow low carb friends. My name is Nicole and I joined this website to offer my support to others embarking on the road to health. I am a strong believer in the low carb lifestyle. I have been doing it off and on for several years. I can tell you that when I am living low carb I feel so much more alive! I think better and just feel great. I wish I could convince more people that this is the way everyone should live. I want to be a part of something where I can inspire others and along the way maybe make a few friends. I have 120 pounds to lose. Yeah, that's a lot, but I plan on taking it one day at a time. And on those rough days one meal at a time. Bottom line is I will succeed!
Today I will succeed!

Hi all! I started Atkins on Nov. 26, 2012 and have been struggling. Not with the plan, just with losing. I found this site and joined a few days ago and hope I can find some solutions to my problem.

Hi everyone. I've been doing low carb since Sept with pretty good results, 20 lb loss but then hit a snag over Christmas and have only lost 1 lb since then, getting pretty discouraged. I found this site yesterday, now hoping encouragement from others will help me over this rough patch.

Hi everyone. I am once again following the low carb lifestyle and hope to stick with it better this time. I was active about two years ago and was doing very well until I hit a medical snag and needed emergency surgery. After recovery I never really followed up and started to eat bad again and not exercise as much, well that didn't do me any good. I gained all my weight back plus some. I am now going on week two of induction and picking up pretty well. I found this group and was impressed with the participation and wanted to join for the support.

Hi all and welcome to the group. Please find the Daily Check in forum and feel free to check in as many times as you want. There are many of us that post when we can and sometimes that might mean several times a day or a couple of times a week. The one thing you will find from this group is we are ACTIVE, and we all want to try to help one another succeed. We try to add some recipes for variety and post about our foods in the daily check in too. Look forward to 'seeing' you there!

Hi everyone! My name is Katie. I am on day 9 of induction. The first week of induction I lost 7 lbs. I have about 35 to go. At my heaviest I was 280,now I am 180. I lost it through diet an exercise then my thyroid and hormones went crazy. I am now on medicines for it with blood work every 3 month to try to regulate me. But what used to work just doesn't. My weight can jump up alot overnight. My doctor feels I retain alot of water. So I came up with atkins. I can't give up all the work I've done. I already feel better. With me it was all water I'm sure and I'm glad it is gone! yeah!
Looking forward to getting to know and enjoy sucess with everyone!

Welcome Katie! Wow, good for you losing a hundred pounds. I have heard that thyroid problems are a real bear to tackle. Atkins is working for many of us, and it sounds like a great match for you. This group is supportive and active. Look for the Daily Check In thread in the group forum, that's where we post. Again, welcome!

I started on Fatsecret back in April 2010 doing Atkins. In early 2012 I started going more Primal/Paleo/Ancestral Diet and was doing pretty well. I went from an initial weight of about 210 down to 160 and was within 10 pounds of my goal weight when I got laid off in April 2012. I got a bit depressed and I wasn't logging my food because I don't sit in front of the computer all day anymore (although I'm quite sedentary) and so I'm back up to about 175. And still unemployed which is causing a bit of stress.

I have been eating real food/low carb/primal all along. Over the last four months or so I have been starting to add in a few more starches like sweet potatoes but that put my blood glucose up a bit. I just finished reading _The Perfect Health Diet_ which is big on safe starches (although I am wary of their list). I'm thinking I really need to get back into weight loss mode and came back to FS looking for help.

All my old groups are pretty dead, so when I saw this on Ctiss' profile, I joined up. *waves hello to everyone*
