MorePlease - keep in mind when logging your wings...if it was buffalo wings that you had then two is really one chicken wing. Smile

Sarah - hope you had a happy birthday!

Linda - I am happy to hear that Jordie is feeling better!

Squigrat - glad that it wasn't the disaster that you thought!!

Lealish - Turnips are a good low-carb option...I think I am more partial to collards, but mmmm mmm they are good!

Myrna - Congratulations!! Slow and steady wins the race.

As for me we went to HuHot for Mongolian Grill on Saturday and the sauces killed me. I did not realize HuHot was in here and when I entered the sauces I almost keeled over. Couple that with 'no void' for a day or so and well the scale is probably not my friend right now..lol. I know it is all okay, and will be patient.

The daughter has completed her background package for security clearance and will return that to the Navy today. She is excited so I hope it all works out well for her. They will send the package to MEPS and they said it will be later this week before they are likely to hear back. Thank you all for the positive thoughts that you have been sending her way.

This Thursday DH and I go to the Rascal Flatts concert...I am so excited. We have seen them before (and The Band Perry) and they were both great...so looking forward to seeing them both again.

I wore a pair of courdory's this weekend that were too tight when I wore them out here (Dec. 2009) and now they fit nicely. However, I do not think I like them anymore so they will be going in the donation box. It was nice to get them on though and wear them. I did wear a top to Mass yesterday that I have not worn since before I moved out here either so that was really nice too.

I hope you all have a great day.

A very good morning to all, just had my egg and sardine omelette, tasty as usual, dropped in some turkey bacons, just to mix it up a little. I didn't lose much in the last two weeks, but so glad I didn't gain. I also finding it so much easier to portion my meals now, even though sometimes I do get hungry.

Congrats Myrna, doing the happy dance with u.

Squigrat, let me know how u like those turnip leaves, just steam them down with a little butter and salt, they might Br bitter at first, but u will get past that.

I tried baking some cookies with the hytop sweetener and they came out so bitter, tried it with some coconut macaroons too and the same results, I need a better sweetener cause I love baking, any suggestions please.

Have a gray day all.

Hey Lealish - I have heard Christie talk about using Swerve. I have never seen it at a store so I assume you have to order it online.

I like cooking my greens with bacon drippings and add about a teaspoon of splenda to the pot to help with the bitter taste Smile

Today was much better! Stuck it out, and you really cant beat almond pancakes for breakfast. Low Carb or not!

I went for a swim this afternoon, and you know how changing rooms have loads of mirrors reflecting off each other. Well, I caught a glimps of myself from behind in the mirror! Oh dear oh dear, i nearly slipped over with shock! Not a pritty sight, lol!
But something good happened, becuase its movtivated me, i swam harder and had a perfect dinner, the old me would have run back into the changing rooms and gone home and found comfort in pasta!
So i feel really good right now.

The turnip leaves were great, by the way. They weren't bitter at all!

Hey Squigrat so glad you liked the turnips!

Back - That thinner you is just peeling back the layers to emerge! Keep it up.

I just read an article (looked it up based on Toni's post that inspired me) and found a great article about the Fat Fast. Not sure if someone already posted this, but since we lost some of our posts it may be good to add it again.

This is a great article for anyone that is really sticking to the Induction and not really dropping any weight. It could be dangerous for anyone that is metabolically resistant, but it is good information to have for any of us that seem to start staling for a week or so and are adhering to low carb like we are supposed to.

Good Morning or Afternoon!

Did my weigh in this morning and so happy to say I finally broke out of the 180's... 179.4.. Feeling good, now hopefully I won't do the fluctuating this week - that pretty much got me down (a little) the past week or so) .. This just proves this way of eating works..

Linda.. You mentioned a few days ago you were in ketosis.. I believe I am deep in it - the breath is not smelling like a bed of roses and as much as I brush the teeth and tongue - no change.. lol lol lol Glad that Jordie is a little better..I understand the old age with the dog my sister has a dog that is 9 we've had him since he was a puppy - and we can really tell the difference from a year ago..

Squigrat.. as for the turnips.. when you cook them make sure you cook them down so they aren't too crunchy - you will not appreciate the taste if not cooked for a length of time.. Like Jaime mentioned good old fat(grease or drippings) helps the taste.. I even cook mine with onion and neckbones.. Sooo good! Glad to hear you didn't pick up weight!
Edited/Added: glad the turnips turned out great for you..

Myrna Louise.. Congratulations on the weight loss! This type of eating DEFINITELY WORKS! Wink

Stpierrem1.. That 1 glass of wine sounds might good to me right now! Wink

Back 2128.. Get your exercise on! I don't feel right when I miss a day.. Good job on the walk (s)!! Let us know how the Fasting goes..

Jaime.. I like the idea of the Splenda in the greens - lately I've been adding vineger and hot sauce .. yummy yummy to the tummy! I wish your daughter ALL THE LUCK! I hope it works out positive..Still sending well wishes! Very Happy

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! I'm on cloud 10 right now! I know there can always be a change - but I'm going to embrace it right now!! Very Happy

On My end.. the ticker is not showing the correct weight! Sad

Oh my gosh. You folks are starting to eat some SOUL food... put a little ham with those greens (can't have the corn bread) with a little pepper sauce and you're down home in the South! Smile

Thanks for the article on the fat fast. I began it today, but plan to do it for only 3 days. I've been doing Atkins since November and week one lost 5 pounds and since then have been struggling for every ounce. Since then, I have only lost another 1.4 lbs. Really hoping the fat fast is successful. I still don't know if I can have diet coke or coffee? anyone know that answer?

Hey guys,

I'm a bit behind so I'm not gonna even try to reply to all the posts hehe. Been off the wagon a bit lately. I finally weighed in on FS, 66.1kgs up from 62.3kg (145.7lbs up from 137.3lbs)!!! Back on low carbing today and have done a meal plan for the week to try and keep myself on track.

I travelled 5 hours south on Friday to spend the weekend with my partner, he's pretty supportive of my low carbing. I got down there and he'd bought a little bottle of cream to have in his hotel fridge so I could have it in my coffee when I got there which was sweet. I was only there for 3 nights but we ate out for every meal and I lacked the willpower to keep on track (I had the whole "I can eat whatever I want on vacation!" attitude lol). Anyway, I'm trying again which is the most important thing I guess.

I've gotta say, I'm missing Angie and Christie's posting a bit! Good to see lots of other people active tho. Keep up the good work everyone. Smile

Good evening all! I had a great day and I feel great! I was on the excercise bike for 10 minutes last night...that doesn't sound like alot, but I have to slowly convince my knee that it can be done!

In September I was going backwards down a flight of stairs and I missed the bottom rung....my knee went in a direction it had no right to go in!

Anyway....we'll get there...gonna shoot for 15 tonight! Have agreat evening everyone!!!

Oh heck yes some ham or fatback or bacon and pepper sauce...lol. You can take the girl out of the South but you can't take the South out of the girl.

Hey Leikoa...you know what to do and I know you can do it. Glad you had a great visit with your partner!

I made a version of chimichanga tonight. Used some leftover pork. Spread some cream cheese on the low carb tortilla. Added the pork. Added some cheese. Rolled it up and fried it. Then placed it in a dish..topped with my cheese and black olives a little enchilada sauce and baked. Topped with sour cream when it was done. Yummy! Added to my dinner if anyone wants to check it out. By the way this is family friendly.

Myrna, that sounds so painful! Keep up the gentle exercise and I'm sure it'll be back to normal in no time. Smile

Thanks for your encouragement, Jaime! Smile Your chimichanga sounds delicious.

Hey, does anyone here know if you can create a custom food on FatSecret? I've looked pretty much everywhere on the site and can't find how to do it. I'm wanting to be able to enter custom nutritional info cause I'm from New Zealand and there are a lot of products/brands I buy that aren't on FS. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Very Happy

Wow! I miss one day of posting and look at all the activity I missed!

Question: I've been keeping my total carb count (not net carbs) at about 30-35 grams/day, but the scale won't budge. I have incorporated weight training with my regular 4-5 mile runs, so maybe the muscle gain may have something to do with it, but my question for the group is: am I going low enough with my carbs? I find it hard to go any lower because there are carbs in EVERYTHING (and I'm getting a little sick of meat!) I took my measurements, and I'll take them again...but my clothes don't feel any looser. Need help!Doubt

Thanks to anybody who can offer me any suggestions...

Good Morning, Godd Morning, It's a beautiful Morning, Good Morning to YOU! Smile I did 20 minutes on the bike last night....slowly, but still 20!

Julie: It's hard, but I have found that under 20 carbs isn't impossible..little tough....but It is so worth it! My problem is the veggies...Anything with the lowest amount of carbs...I DON"T LIKE!!! Keep at it!

Have a great low carb day everybody!
