Hello there! I am here to encourage you that you can do it! A year ago I was 30lbs heavier and had just about given up on trying to lose. But some how, from somewhere I got just a little motivation and so can you. Start small with just writing down what you eat. Then try to cut back about 100 calories a day. Then try exercising! Maybe just a walk or try a video that has 10 to 20 minute workouts to get you motivated. In no time with support you will work your way up to your goals! Set short term, reachable goals and once they are met then set another one. Make 2013 a year of change!

Keeping track of what you eat is a great idea. Sometimes I don't realize how much I'm eating but if it's written down I can look back and see where I need to cut back. Walking is a great exercise, not to hard on your body and easy to do for beginners. Good luck!

Hi! I began using FatSecret about this time last year while using Atkins. I did have good results, but I didn't reach my goal. Now, I am back to where I started. I didn't use any help from group members. I think that is one of my big mistakes. I know I can't do this alone.

jbatc, It is hard to do it alone. I struggle because I'm the only one in my house trying to cut back and get constant temptations put right in front of me. I'm hoping that having support online I can try to stay on track. Good Luck to you.

I also start out big time motivated, and after a few weeks it fades away. I did weight watchers a few years ago and had awesome results. But the key to that, in my opinion, was the weighing in and being held responsible. My husband recently realized how out of control his weight has become and is now "dieting". So at least the temptations that were being put in my face are now gone. Maybe this time I can get back on track and stay on track!! 75 lbs to lose - again...
