Hey ladies I'm in dire straits here. This past year has been a tough year for me. March I had to have a hysterectomy soon after being married. I was in the best shape of my life. I was working out 6 times a week and loving life. Until we found out I had tumors throughout my uterus. After the surgery I had gained a lot of weight and also slipped into a deep depression not just from the weight but the hormones. Not but 6 months later I had to have major knee surgery which put landed me bed for 3 months. 30 pounds I gained from that surgery as well. I have never been this heavy. I weigh more now than I did when I was pregnant. Emotionally I am falling apart. Its even harder now because I am limited because of my knee. My husband has been so sweet and supportive through all of this. I need all the help I can get ladies. Tips; short cuts;best foods; fast results anything. Anything would help.

Wow, you have had a tough year. I'm not sure how much you can do after knee surgery but walking is a great exercise (if you live in an area without snow!) When I am hungry I have found that a handful of granola (nuts and raisons) will help me stay off snacking. I know everyone is different so I guess everyone has to find the thing that works for them. Stress could also be a part of your weight gain, it sounds like you've had your share of that. I take a yoga class (hatha yoga). It's a very relaxing class and has also helped me to be more flexible. I hope you find what works for you. Good luck!

Thank you Jaqueline I need to hear responses like this. Yes I am very limited with my knee. I can walk but no hills. I walk at the gym on the treadmill but in very short increments 10-15 minutes. I started doing weight training. Mostly upper body abdominal and I can do some leg work outs. I went to the store today and I am really cracking down on my eating. I am hoping to see some results. I am so glad to have support like this. Thanks again

You have had a tough year, Tiffani, but know we are here for you! I've found the support here wonderful. It helps me to journal & log my food as much as possible, and to take it one day or meal or minute at a time. I'm a big exercise nut & weight training is so important in addition to whatever cardio you can do. Great to have you in our group & good luck... & keep coming back!
