Hi Is it too late to join? I sure could use some motivation and support. I tried this before and didn't last long so I am back again hopefully this time I can stick to it. I let my carb craving get the best of me. I have trouble sticking and staying focus. That is one of my weakness. the other is sweets I love them. I am a busy mom of 7 kids ranging from 4 to 21. My oldest doesn't live with me anymore. It hard with a family of 8 and living on a budget. My hubby doesn't work due to 2 torn ACL in both knees. He is also diabetic and a very picky Italian. Everything is pasta this or pasta that lol. I am the only one doing Atkins. Everyone doesn't support Atkins as they think it unhealthy. So I am alone in this. I am 45 and need to lose over 90 lbs. I am currently 227 lbs. I restarted yesterday with the Atkins plan. My calories was on the low side but my net carb was 24. So I don't know what I am doing that wrong. I had three meals yesterday. I drunk 64 oz of water too. I sure would love to join your forum as I see it very active and that what I need. Sandy

Hi Sandy! I'm new too and just started a couple days ago. I've done Atkins before and it works wonders for me. My nurse in-laws are all on me about how unhealthy this diet is, but I just tell them it's pretty unhealthy carrying extra weight, too. Smile

I'm fairly lucky, as I do not have a sweet tooth at all and I really like veggies. I do miss chips, popcorn, pasta, etc. but I'm finding some decent substitutes for my snack cravings.

My husband is a big pasta fan, so I just make spaghetti squash for me and pasta for everyone else. Honestly, I feel so much better when I am on this diet. Much more energy and I don't feel so bloated and disgusting all the time.

Good luck to you! You can do it!

Hi Sandy,
How about if your husband would do the family cooking and you do your own? Just for the 2 weeks induction, and see what happens. Tell him that his loving support will be rewarded with a happier and more self confident wife and mother, and Happy Mom, Happy Family.
I know, I've been there...
