Hi, I have done this diet twice before and am beginning another round. I am not an expert, but just started the very low calorie diet (vlcd) today! What do you need help with?

Hello Cinspra, I am just starting the diet as well. I loaded on JUNE 23 AND 24. i am a diabetic so my calorie intake is at 700 a day. I take Hch shot and B12 shots. As of right now I have no side effects I am excited about this diet and still learning different ways how to be successful! if you want we can do this journey together and help each with different tips and information.

I started on June 13/14, its a tough diet and it takes a LOT of will-power but it works. I have lost 17 pounds in 14 days. It works, it really does. there are days you will not loose and it's very hard to handle, at least it was for me. I had four days with no loss and I almost gave up, then on day five I had a five pound loss at once and it keeps coming. You just have to see what works for you and stick with it. Drink water and water and water and water. I do not know anyone else that is on this or ever has been. I am looking for support as well and buddies. Its a very lonely diet to be on in a way. I have felt a little isolated as I eat nothing and my family (skinny husband and daughter) eat whatever they want.

Hello Arb1968,

I completely understand where you are coming from it is a tough diet to do but when you start losing the weight that helps you stay on track! I hate watching my family eat foods that I crave and I do too feel lonely at times or even sad...My husband supports me with this diet by trying to eat the foods I eat, but I don't want to share my food because I will have to go to the store and by more.(lol)And we both know this diet is not cheap! Good job and congratulations with your weight loss and you novitiates me to continue on my journey! I can wait until that day comes when I will say I lost 17 pounds.... I am looking for buddies as well to help me with diet, so what are some of the recipes do you use and do you inject the shots?

mglass, I don't inject, I have the kind you put under your tongue twice a day. I had to inject insulin for gestational diabetes and I don't really feel like doing it again. this is not a cheap diet and I am determined to do it the right way. I have had days without loosing and I get really down cus it so hard but then I loose a couple pounds in a day. Its crazy. Thank God for a supportive husband, mine is very supportive as well and I don't think I could do this without his support. He says it's ok if I make the same thing for him, but I always make something close to what I am eating but fix it up for them. One thing I started eating yesterday is something I just made up but I like it, but I love tomatos. I cut a tomato and put it in a skillet and add salt, pepper, lemon juice and garlic and let it cook a few minutes and then add one egg and an egg white to the hot skillet, let it cook a minute and then stick it under the broiler. its not pretty but its pretty good. I also cook shrimp in the skillet with some soy sauce, ginger and garlic and a sprinkle (very small) of stevia and then wrap it in some bibb lettuce leaves. my own creations but those are my favorites. There seems to be a few differnet versions of this diet. if you are on a verson that follows the original protocol both of those match what is allowed I think.

Wow you ladies are so supportive and doing great! I luv that tomato idea. I do prefer the egg too on occasion also but you can also have two more egg whites with that according to the original protocol. I found two recipes I luv from online especially when i get bored and both of them involve using your melba toast in the recipe. One is a faux hot wing recipe its actually chicken breast we use fillets seasoned with cayenne, paprika and chili powder. I use a little mustard but some use their tablespoon of milk and crush their melba toast on top of the chicken and then bake. I then mix some garlic with mustard, spices and Louisiana Hot sauce for dip. I had mine with celery hubby with lettuce. The other recipe is a mini meatloaf that also uses the crushed up melba toast in them. mglass62381 and arb1968 you are doing great and I look forward to your success and sympathize with the no loss, after a great first week it has been .2 on scale, hold, then today finally a .6 UGH the Ahhh at least its moving. Also quick question are you all doing the 40 round and at the end of this round will you be doing another round in 6 weeks?

I did this program back in March. I loss a total of 22 lbs and several inches. I would have loss more, but I continued to exercise during my first 30 days and you're not suppose to exercise. I have managed to keep it off as well. I tried to do a second round starting June 26...yeah, that didn't go to well due to several factors. I will be doing it again probably August or October. Holidays aren't really good for me. Anyway, don't be discouraged. It works and you will look and feel great in the end.

Today I'm on Day #13 - and can really feel the fat loss this morning. I'm down 11 lbs. in 12 days now. Although I had a big loss the first week, and a few days without losses on the scale this 2nd week, I'm really feeling good. I too take the hcg drops (by AnuMed) along with some other supplements, and feel great! Yesterday was my first day of really feeling no hunger. That has not really been an issue for me - but to go all day and eat only for nutrition, that was rewarding! Also, skipped my melba for the first day yesterday as well - only have a few left in my package and when they are gone, I won't have any more the rest of this phase. Going for 30-40 days.

I'm really surprised at how easy this program is to follow, and I do only 1 veggie per day, so meals are really easy! I'm not a fish fan, but am doing grilled or poached cod every 3 days.

am - Grapefruit Spritzer
lunch - Cod w/cucumbers (rice wine vinegar & pepper)
pm - Strawberry Spriter
dinner - Grilled chicken (Franks Buffalo Wing Sauce!) w/sliced cucumbers chilled

There's my Day #13 - and I'm also celebrating my .50 loss with a 25 minute walk this am. Have a great Saturday girls!

I was on this diet and had great success. I am also trying another round this fall when the summer months settle down. It works great if followed correctly. Anyone who needs help or tips message me anytime - I would be more than happy to help out or share! Smile

Hi everyoneSmile I started my vlcd on Monday. Before my load I was 139. Went up to 144.6 after my load and yesterday I was 141.8 and today 139. Very happy. I am doing injections. My doctor said coffee, tea is fine. After reading up on the bread and milk, I chose not to include in my diet and my doctor agreed. I am following diet 100% as I only want to do 1 round. My goal is to get back to my 121-123. Glad I found this site
