1) A home screen widget that shows the day's net calories (or is configurable to show which ever statistic is most important to the user).

2) Exercise entry by intent so Buddy Runner, Cardio Trainer, WorkItOut, etc, can automatically add to the exercise diary.

3) An overview of daily statistics as the Counter Home screen, with most of the current Counter Home optioins moved to the menu.

What would other people like to see?

PS, if the Calorie Counter App were open sourced I'd be willing to see what I could contribute.

I'd like to have the ability to customize how many calories I need for maintenance. It estimates 2100/day based on my height, gender, and age. Metabolic analysis shows estimates I really only need 1704. Big difference.

I'd also like it to correctly calculate WW points. It's a simple, widely available formula, so I have no clue how they got that information so wrong.

I would like the food diary to keep the correct columns e.g. WW points, fiber etc. I have to change it every time I go back there.

I'd like to see the diet calendar calculate net calories using the default activities. Of course, that's an isssue both on the website and the Calorie Counter app.

I'd like a more intuitive way to enter exercise. "Start walking" / "Stop walking", instead of having to remember what time you started exercising. Maybe even pedometer or GPS functions to automagically deduce how heavily you're exercising - there's separate apps that do that, but I've yet to see one that provides the info in any form I can use.

Maybe I should make my own exercise counting app (or search for an open source one) using the platform API. But it'd still be neater to have it all in one place.

In that vein, I'd like to see an API for interacting with Calorie Counter. That way the basic app would act as a platform (like local) and the other apps could have plugins for Calorie Counter.

I'd like to have the ability to choose the number of meals I eat each day instead of the default Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snacks. I would like to see it run a little faster. And I'd like to the ability to add activity other than exercise, such as "sitting at a desk", etc.

The current app is great and I use it a lot. Thanks for making it free.

There are "exercises" for both sitting and deskwork. If your desk work is all on the computer, use sitting. The deskwork that the Metabolic Equivalent is calculated for includes shuffling files and bending and reaching more than most computer jockeys do.

As for running faster, you might want to get one of the task manager apps (I like task killer) and make sure you don't have superfluous stuff running in the background. Certain apps don't seem to place nice with others.

I would like to be able to enter the information from my excercise journal to calorie counter... so then I can eliminate having to bring a notebook to the gym. The list provided in the app is too generic, and the calories burned isn't very accurate.
