The whole reason I decided to eat healthy and lose weight is for my 40th birthday this year. So this group is perfect! Laughing I started March 4th at 271 lbs and my long term target goal is 160 or less to be in the healthy BMI range of 19-24 (129-163 lb). My short term goal for my birthday is to lose 70 lbs. It's also my folks 50th wedding anniversary in Sept and I would like to "WOW" the family at that gathering. Cool

So far, using The DASH Diet Weight Loss Solution book, I've learned to eat right (need to get more exercise in there daily tho) and have lost 18.2 lbs. Was a little stalled the past week 1/2 to 2 weeks due to some cold or something (didn't cheat, but didn't lose or gain either). I'm back and can breath better, so back to kicking fat's butt and losing weight. Very Happy

Sounds like you are off to a great start!! I wish the best of luck to you in all your forthcoming endeavors. You can do this! :]

I am also a September birthday. I just want to be healthy for my birthday. My husband and I are trying to buy our first house together this year, so reaching one of my short term goals is already within our grasp (not eating out so much). I just got back on my wagon after falling off and twiddling my thumbs for about 2 years, enjoying life outside the military. That's not acceptable anymore. By this september, I hope to lose between 50-60 pounds, 10-12 pounds/month. I feel like that is a safe rate to lose. We shall see :] This time it's going to come down to me holding myself 100% accountable. Like anything else in life, what you put in is what you get out.

You can do this! You can do 7 lbs a month and be ready by your b-day!! You've already lost 20, the last 35 should be no problem. You'll make your goal weight as you're already off to a fantastic start!

I agree with you, "what you put in, it what you get out".
Packing & moving will certainly burn extra calories! I know you can lose what you want to. You can do it! Hope the house hunting is fun and exciting- best wishes on finding the best 1st house for you two. Very Happy
