This seems like a good place for everyone to introduce themselves and talk about the games they regularly play.

Hmm, I've been gaming for as long as I can remember. It started with board games like Mouse Trap and Hungry, Hungry Hippos. After that, I moved through the video game consoles from the original Nintendo up to the Xbox, but I haven't gotten any of the current generation consoles.

Instead, I do all of my current gaming on the computer. Everquest really got me into the MMORPG scene and that led directly into World of Warcraft. My guild is a group of real life friends and we hammer out ten man content. We've given 25 man raids a try but just can't stand other people it seems.

I also actively play pen and paper games with the same group of friends. We've mainly focused on D&D (3e,3.5e,4e) but we also gave Savage Worlds a try. Our current D&D campaign is set in 1856 San Francisco.

Hi, I'm a gamer girl...mostly because my husband and brother play. I grew up with Nintendo and Sega games, then Xbox and PC games. I was on a "The Sims" kick for a while, but that was more an addiction than enjoyment. I also enjoy strategy games like Civilization and other sim games like the "Tycoon" series (Railroad, Zoo, etc.).

For the last three years my husband and I have been mostly playing WoW, however. We are in a Christian guild called "Redeemed" on the Stonemaul server with a lot of our friends and family who play. We made some new friends online since the guild forums are quite active. We started playing the WoW trading card game but we decided it is just more fun to play online, though we still collect the cards.

We also play Rock Band/Guitar Hero with several of our IRL friends. My husband plays guitar and I am the drumming expert of our group.

Love the food that loves you back.

Take it one day at a time!

Howdy!

I've been a console gamer since... forever. I've only played a few PC games because my machines usually aren't even high-tech enough to handle Solitaire. Laughing I currently have a PlayStation 3 & 2, Xbox 360, and Wii (although I'm thinking of selling it soon). Its hard for me to pick favorite games (there's just too many), but here are some that come to mind...

PS3: Soul Calibur 4
360: BioShock
Wii: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
PS2: Silent Hill 2
Xbox: Way too many hours wasted playing Halo 2 online
GameCube: Resident Evil 4

I'm looking forward to playing LittleBigPlanet, Fable 2, and Fallout 3 this Fall.

::edit::
How could I forget about Rock Band & Guitar Hero! I'm a music game junkie.

Hey there!

I'm a gamer but not in the same sense as many of you. Yes I have PS2 (and 1), the Wii (and all previous systems), and occasionally play online games. However, I can't say I get into them as much as some (I do have several WoW addicted friends).

I'm more into boardgames. Euro games, AmeriTrash, ect. I love games like Ticket To Ride, Vikings, Killer Bunnies, and Fluxx. I hit up game conventions when they are local and sometimes wonder how I got sucked into this hobby. Currently we own close to 100 games (card and board).

I think I prefer board games to video games because of the face to face interaction. Though I definitely love that Mario Kart for the Wii connects with players around the world.

Gamer chick here...Name it I have probably played it and many I still do, though it gets harder every year to find the time.

I have played board games ever since I remember. Ticket to Ride is a GREAT one got that for my hubby when we were just dating and his parents like it too..I am not allowd to play LoTR Trivial Pursuit anymore after I accidently decimated my husband and a good friend LOL

RPGs hmmm I have played so many D&D, White Wolf, Fading Suns, and Shadow Run just to name a few.

Current addiciton, as most of the others it seems, is WoW. Actually a member of a guild that has members all over the US and Canada and a few overseas. Real life friends play but most have not rolled on my server so do not play in my guild (I have been with them since Beta.)

We have a Wii but have not played with it much. Mom promised a Wii Fit for Christmas so I am hoping that will help with getting more active Smile tried Rock band for the first time about 2 weeks ago, was more fun than I expected Very Happy

Anyway enough for now hehe

yeah.... I got hooked in the year 2001. I blame my big brother! I started out in Dark age of Camelot before getting into the closed beta of WoW before it released. Long story short, I am addicted. I have way too many characters, but spend most of my time with my black temple priest.

o! I just got a beta invitation last night and am currently dl'ing the beta client patches. thats why I found this forum, I couldnt play the game due to the beta thing =p

nice being here, and have fun in WoW!

Hi fellow Gamers.....

My husband and I own a Nintendo, Super Nintendo and Playstation 2. We also have most of the White Wolf Vampire the Masquerade books. We built 2 PCs so that both of us could play WoW. We were just introduced to it last year and we LOVE it. We are definately addicted.

First, I just wanted to say the title made me laugh... Made me think of Emenim (sp?).

Okay...so, I'm not into the role playing games, so WoW and what have you just lose me. Guess I'm either not tech savvy enough or smart enough Wink to follow them. LOL

But I've been playing games since before I can remember and have introduced my husband and son to the world of gaming as well. My husband is now addicted to first person shooter games - on any console he can get his hands on. And we (literally) own about 60 board games - mostly for kids and families. Right now, we have an original PlayStation, XBox and Wii - not to mention the computer and Nintendo DS (one for each me and my son). When my husband gets back from Iraq, I'm sure he'll be upgrading to a 360...just don't need it right now.

Growing up we had countless board games and every new console that came out from Atari on...(we even had a grey one, started with a 'z' I think - around the same time as the Atari...but I don't remember much about it - some of you may be able to help me out. It had a keyboard attached to it, the games fit in the top like the Atari games??). Anyway...I'm not playing too many games right now because my gaming partner (ie, the hubby) isn't here. I'm real competetive, so I like playing first person shooter games and we compete on what levels we're on, etc.

I do have a 7 year old, so I have no choice but to play the kiddo games (not that I'm complaining Wink ) so I can help him through the boards he can't conquer. My birthday is in a couple weeks and rumor has it that I'll be getting Guitar Hero for the Wii - I'm excited about that...then I'll buy the Aerosmith disk later. Though, I dropped a hint to my sister that I'd like a Wii Fit...so the siblings may get me that - we'll see. LOL.

I also like Pogo for online play. There are a variety of games - that my husband finds terribly boring, but they pass the time for me when the kid is on the TV. LOL.

I don't know if I have a favorite game....I like to play them, beat them as soon as possible, and then move on to another one.

Hahaha. I am really glad I came across this group. My name is Starla. I haven't really been much of a gamer except for Final Fantasy XI online until recently. I don't play FFXI anymore because my jerk of an ex-husband deleted my character. My current boyfriend is exposing me to a lot of great older games. I like to play with him when I can. Mostly Rockband lately. He is counting down the days for Fallout 3. I think it will be interesting to watch him play that. I'm looking forward to Fable II with him. He says he is going to make me play Dead Space because he wants to see me jump and scream... Butthead. Lol. But yeah, I don't really have any faves right now but still enjoy them.

We just recently started a monthly game group. It makes it a bit easier on our crazy schedules. We rotate houses and the host/hostess does the food. Each person/couple needs to bring one game and KNOW the rules. (We had some trouble with new games and trying to figure them out) It's working out pretty well.

Is anyone else here on Board Game Geek?

Hey all. I'm currently not playing any games..... but I do love WoW and the Sims. Although Sims is definitely an addiction... I just love to make myself and friends. It's probably creepy, but I bet a lot of people do it.

Anyway. I'm unfortunate (or maybe fortunate) enough to have my personal trainer double as my best friend. She's said no games. I'm going along with it, at least until I get to my goal weight.

Seeing as Lich King just came out, and Sims 3 is due out early next year... I have a lot of motivation to get in shape. Then maybe my body can handle all night playing sessions better?
