When I began on Atkins, on which I'm doing very well, my blood glucose dropped a lot. But after about 3 months, I've noticed that it has increased. I have type 2 diabetes. I am still eating less than 25 gms of carb, and my percentage of fat is a minimum of 60%, usually over 70% daily. My calories also run between 1400-2000 daily. I'm even still on Metformin. Obviously this is not coming from dietary sources.
So what's going on? Is this in any way similar to an increased cholesterol temporarily while losing fat? It's really concerning me, and I cannot seem to find any information on it.
