Karen - I don't believe elhill or denisetra are even coming to this site anymore. Haven't seen them in months. YES you can have too few carbs. Are you switching over to lower carb from what you were doing to get to goal? Having a RED FLAG w/ the 5lbs increase is a good thing. If you want some help, I would be happy to try... just let me know.

I have only just started on this site although I have been doing Atkins for almost 4 weeks now. I have lost a total of 19#'s so far but I was just wondering if someone could take the time to look at my food log and just let me know if I need to change anything. There are only 2 days logged so far but that is pretty close to my average day. I know you lose fast at first and everyone is different but for the last week I havent lost but maybe one pound. So I just was wondering if someone could double check for me. Thanks a ton.......ANGELA

lynae26 I looked at yours for March 15 (even though you posted over a month ago, and even though I'm newer to this WOE than you, but no one had responded!) since that was the last date labeled as "all calories logged".

The whole wheat bread is going to stall your weight loss. Period. I don't know what phase you're in, but the bread will sabotage you.

Also consider upping your fat intake to higher percentages, you're at 57% right now, and really should be at 60-65%, or higher if you still stall.

Your calories look good as a % of your RDI, but your net carbs from veggies are WAY too low at just over 1 for the day. It should be 15 times that!

Last, Atkins.com recommends limiting your atkins products to 2 a day. If you still stall, cut it down to 1, or cut it out completely.

Hope that helps, and if anyone is willing to dissect my diet for yesterday, I'd appreciate it! (Today is, as always, a work in progress.)

It has aspartame. It was the first time I had tried one of those in the 4 weeks of trying this. I usually just drink water by the gallons.

Hmmmm, Im not sure what's going on. Ive gone through several of your diet calendar days and I'm wondering if the nutrition info is right. Like on the mushroom count, I think there's a higher carb count. I would go through each food and google it just to make sure its all accurate. This was something I had to go through when I first started and its helped...even your bacon doesn't seem right..meat shouldn't have Carbs
unless its been cured in something. In which case you should avoid it. I hope this helps some Smile you are welcome to add me as a buddy if you wish and we can help eachother

Carb count looks too high for this phase of Atkins. You need to be below 20grams/day net carbs for induction.

Same here... need some real help! Started in Feb, lost 30lbs and then I stalled and have been stalled for the last 7 weeks and getting SO frustrated!! Up 2 lbs, down 1.. up one, down one... Reread the books and online info... Changed everything, upped the fat intake, drank more water, 60 oz a day, upped the calorie count to 1700/1800... I count all foods on Fatsecret... weigh and measure everything. 20/15 carb intake, usually eat all fresh veggies... bouts with constipation and I am sure that doesn't help, tried Miralax but no help.. tried drinking the chicken broth but legs and ankles swelled up terribly! Any ideas???? HELP!

Im wondering if just that little bit that u are going over is what's doing it..it looks like most days you are going over slightly on your net carbs and I'm wondering what would happen if you kept it right at 20 or below...that might not be it..I don't know..just had an idea Smile

Congratulations on losing 30 pounds!

Losing 30 pounds in 3 months is a fast weight loss....even faster than fast, really, because you consider yourself stalled for the last 7 weeks! ANY body losing that amount of weight so rapidly is bound to have a period of readjustment.

My first piece of advice, in light of the weight you've dropped and the time it took you to do so, would be to just stay on plan and give your body time to adjust. Did you take your measurements when you began this journey? Many times your body will change shape prior to the pounds actually showing up on the scale.

Nothing jumps out to me as being problematic, esp. since you say you are weighing and measuring everything. Otherwise, that would be my second piece of advice....weigh and measure everything, trying to go by weight on the non-liquid items, rather than "cups." And, there are those who can vastly underestimate the amount of salad dressing they use on salads.

As far as constipation is concerned....lots of those fresh veggies should help. Be certain you're getting enough water on a daily basis. Some people will take a fiber supplement (watch the carbs!). Others swear by adding some chia seeds....I'm trying them myself currently. (Certain nuts and seeds are OK on Induction past the first 2 weeks.)

Really hoping to find a buddy who has experienced success to help me achieve the same.

I have done Atkins in the past and had great success loosing. But didn't follow strictly through the phases. Just started on induction and then stayed low carb for several years.

Lost 50+ pounds and felt wonderful. That was 5+ years ago and I have completely slipped off the low carb band wagon and gained back my 50 + 20 more! Ugh.

Anyway my goal is to stay on Atkins through the phases to determine what my OWL carb number is so that I can loose the weight and then maintain sensibly.

Anyone interested in buddying/mentoring me?

Anna if you are just starting out just watch the carbs and get that down first. Once you got that down then start refining your diet and looking at those details. I have just started this diet and I am finding it very difficult because of the way it is making me feel. I logged my diet in yesterday and couldnt believe the numbers! Take one step at a time.

Liguid stevia should be zero carbs. Is that what the label says?
But you are limited to 3 sweetener a day so you would count it towards those

I found a blog that's great for recipes...she had gastric banding surgery and now eats low carb.

I never seem to be able to drink all the water that I need. I have to really make a commitment to myself and stick to it. Also I remember how easy it is to get constipated on this diet, so we need something like Benefiber daily. I like to boil a dozen eggs too and put them back in the carton (marked COOKED)... and I agree that preparation is 90% of the whole thing. When I have fallen down in the prep I have always fallen down in the diet. The only thing that worries me is that I have a lot of weight to lose and I know I have to eat healthy for the rest of my life, not just go off this and put it all back on.

Hello all... I am looking for friends here on fatsecret as this is like day 3 for me on this site. I am struggling with finding my posts! I post something somewhere, but then do not seem to be able to get back to it to see if i got a response.... What am i missing?

Also, i noticed that carb listings are very different for some things. I had a piece of chicken for breakfast and some of the listings say it has carbs (??) and some do not.... Also, on the muffin in a minute, Atkins people (on that site) say it has 1 carb for the egg, but here it lists it at like 3? (Yeah, I have it set for net carbs). Any ideas on that one?
