I need some real help! Started Induction in Feb, lost 30lbs and then I stalled and have been stalled for the last 7 weeks and getting SO frustrated!! Up 2 lbs, down 1.. up one, down one... Reread the books and online info... Changed everything, upped the fat intake, drank more water, 60 oz a day, upped the calorie count to 1700/1800... I count all foods on Fatsecret... weigh and measure everything. 20/15 carb intake, usually eat all fresh veggies... bouts with constipation and I am sure that doesn't help, tried Miralax but no help.. tried drinking the chicken broth but legs and ankles swelled up terribly! Any ideas???? HELP! Sad

Stick to your diet and know its going to work - I was stuck for a very long time and on top of it I was being forced by the hospital to loose weight as fast as I could so that I could fit on the available radiation machine - the more stress the less I lost - now that its too long after chemo to get radiation - hence no stress - the weight is coming off - plus you must measure yourself its wonderful to see how far one has come on the tape measure - I walk round bragging to my family - "can you believe I was ever this big" stick to it, it will pay off in the long run

Allihen5 said it very well. Stick with it, perseverence pays off. Track everything that you eat and drink, keep an eye on your % each day. I too stalled out for awhile, I just mixed things up a bit and added more fat to my diet and it worked! Relax, enjoy the food that you are eating and dont weigh yourself everyday. The scale can so dictate our moods on a daily basis. The tape measure is the best way to go. You can lose inches without losing lbs on the scale. Stay focused to the plan and it will work for you! Best of luck!
If you have the right mindset then nothing can stop you from reaching your goals! Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!

To break your stall you could increase your fats some more, cut your protien and even cut carbs a bit more too; at least temporarily, even only one or two days per week. You don't need to reduce calories if you can get the fats up. Cut the protien portion to the minimum 80-85g and replace it with more fatty sauces, dressings or condiments like mayo; or add supplimental fats like flaxseed oil or one of the benefitial Omega 3 oils. You're doing awesome accounting for your foods. Keep up the fluids and find a fiber suppliment that you can tolerate that also helps. Dietary fats, I think, are NOT usually the cause of constipation; in fact I think fat usally helps keep things moving. Constipation is usually a protien to fiber imbalance--too much protien/not enough fiber. If you're getting lots of fluids and still have constipation it's probably due to not enough fiber. Fiber absorbs liquid in the intestines--a good thing, because it helps prevent and/or overcome constipation. Also add a calcium-magnesium supplement which not only helps with constipation but has also been shown to help with weight loss. (Remember the old fashioned Milk of Magnesia? Magnesium helps with constipation.)
