I am on my second week of induction..and I find that I really am not that hungry. I am trying to get in more protein, I have been 21g or lower of net carbs. Mostly from veggies. I had a great loss my first week 7lbs. I am just worried I am going to slow my metabolism. Any suggestion for upping my calories without adding more net carbs?

Usually when dieting, you crave food. For some reason,I had the same problem also. You have to eat! This was my set back on induction. The only way to up your calories is to eat more fat,in the form of olive oil, butter, meats, cheese, refer to the Atkins book for sample menus for induction, also Atkins website is helpful.I'm in week five and still finding it hard to get 30 nc. Once you start adding exercise and boosting your metabolism, you will find your appetite increasing.I stayed an extra week in induction before moving into OWL,you may want to consider that.

Yes. That's a great idea! In fact, I am still in the Induction phase and will be for awhile longer. ________________________________________________________________________

Gems, Don't worry about slowing your metabolism. Once you get through the first two weeks or so of induction, you body will be burning fat for fuel, not carbs. So the only way for your metabolism to slow down would be to not give it enough fat, which usually is not enough calories. I noticed on your food journal that your calories are way low....so if your not losing, I would suggest upping the calories. I also had the lack of hunger problem in induction too... Now in week 8, this way of eating is habit now. My loss has slowed to about a pound a week, but I'm still consistently losing. It does work!
