@Kiwi6809... My mom gave the best advice when I bemoaned the idea of starting Atkins because she'd listed, "no breads, no potatoes, no pasta..." and all I could think was, "but that's all I eat!"
Her advice: Stop dwelling on the foods you can't have, and start seeing all of the foods you can enjoy!
I took her advice, live a low-carb life style daily, and have traded in my size 18W clothes for size 8 jeans ... in just under 6 months time. I still eat fruits and such, but I watch my portions and stick to low carb alternatives (like low-carb breads or ice cream) when possible. Now it doesn't bug me when my slim & trim teen son eats mac & cheese or honey buns or take out pizzas in front of me; I just grin, place hands on my slimmer middle, & go whip up low carb alternatives.
