I'm new to the group but I'm glad I found it.
I've been on the diet since 2/13/11 and have lost 16 pounds. I would have lost more but there was a period of 2 weeks where I was doing a lot of "celebrating" with alcohol and carbs. Even then I didn't gain too much of my weight back. Now I'm back on track and losing steadily ... weighed in this morning and already I had lost 4 lbs since last week. I love how I feel!

It is amazing how the Atkins makes you feel. I don't even really feel like I am dieting. I have energy and I'm not hungry. WOW!

Welcome to your new way of life. I'm glad you like it! Atkins did for me in ONE MONTH what Clean Eating could not do in 14 years. I LOVE it! Smile
Comfortable at this size/weight (I really don't want to buy size 0 jeans).

It's not about "weight" or the number on the scale. It's about lean muscle mass and body fat percentage.
At 125 I was a size 8 (after I lost 100+ pounds over 1.5 years).
At 135 I was a size 6 (maintained for several years) and over 28% body fat. I had 97 pounds of lean muscle mass and felt skinny fat.
Now at 140 I am a size 2 and have the smallest measurements I've ever had since I started taking them around the age of 18. I'm at 25% body fat and 107 pounds of lean muscle mass!! I'm no She-Hulk, either.

Don't tell me you aren't losing "weight." That doesn't tell me anything. Tell me how much fat you've lost and how much lean body mass you've gained. Here's a good start to estimate:

I am liking Atkins so far too. I don't get hungry until just before it's time to eat my next meal. I am a junk food junky and that's my problem. I have two children who are too skinny and my DR wants me to fatten them up a little and they don't do protein shakes so pasta and fruits seem to be what's working. However, we know that they are a big no-no on Atkins and I just started so I am still in the induction phase and it's SO hard to pass up cookies and cupcakes and watermelon and alfredo....ok I'm done. promise. I keep telling myself that nothing tastes as good as skinny feels, but have you ever had a swiss cake roll during "that time of month". UGH!

Smile @Kiwi6809... My mom gave the best advice when I bemoaned the idea of starting Atkins because she'd listed, "no breads, no potatoes, no pasta..." and all I could think was, "but that's all I eat!"

Her advice: Stop dwelling on the foods you can't have, and start seeing all of the foods you can enjoy!

I took her advice, live a low-carb life style daily, and have traded in my size 18W clothes for size 8 jeans ... in just under 6 months time. I still eat fruits and such, but I watch my portions and stick to low carb alternatives (like low-carb breads or ice cream) when possible. Now it doesn't bug me when my slim & trim teen son eats mac & cheese or honey buns or take out pizzas in front of me; I just grin, place hands on my slimmer middle, & go whip up low carb alternatives.

well I am with all of you...I feel great doing this diet. I have just completed the first week and in 6 days I lost 8 lbs! It is great to lose and really not suffer doing it. I went out to eat with a friend and at a salad with grilled chicken on top. I was picking the little pieces of carrots out of it (not even a teaspoon) but that is how serious I am about it. My friend ate a big breakfast and then pecan pie (which I love) and it really did not bother me. I know that later I can make my own pecan pie (low carb of course) when I am in control of my cravings. I hate the propaganda about this diet...nothing that makes you feel this good, helps you lose weight, has lowered my blood pressure already, and tons of other benefits could be bad! Sorry that is really a sore spot for me. Anyway you all sound like you are doing great and loving it! Me too!
