I'm starting a thread for people to post their accomplishments, reaching mini-goals, etc.

I was inspired by Dr. Michael Mosley's documentary on intermittent fasting and started this way of eating (and not eating) on March 5. Dr. Mosley lost one stone (14 pounds) in 7 weeks. It's taken me a bit longer, but I've lost my first stone! Smile

I lost 13 lbs (almost a stone) in 14 weeks. I started January 31st. I am really close to my ideal weight, so not really overweight when I started, so I'm guessing that's why I didn't see a dramatic weight loss?? I'd be curious to know of anyone that had a greater number of pounds to lose if their loss has been more dramatic.

After spending a year getting to my goal weight and a year staying within 5 pounds of it, I decided to try intermittent fasting as a way to maintain going forward and to see if I can realize some of the other health benefits advertised. After 3 weeks my weight went down 8 pounds! I work out regularly, eat well, and never thought it was possible to drop this far below my goal weight. My approach is a full 24 hours without food and that first day was brutal - I found myself checking the clock constantly and counting the hours until I can eat again! It has gotten easier though and I now pick days I will be busy to be my fast days, which helps distract me from thinking about food and time. Based on my success so far, I'm optimistic this is a lifestyle I can maintain.

i started this diet April 3, 2013. I'm down 26 lbs. the best thing ive found to get rid of hunger pangs, is to keep a bottle of water with me at all times. so far its working for me. the first few days were tough. i went 48 hours without any food what so ever. now i find water is your friend. im down 26lbs and 2 inches on my waist, and im about ready to go into the next size down pants. i walk 2-3 miles a day and that helps. its a tough road, but just remember, you're not alone in here!

I just want to add my great bloodwork results that I just got today--definately a hooray moment for me! I definately saw decreases in cholesterol, bad cholesterol, tryglycerides and blood glucose. On my blood glucose he was like "wow! it's rare for me to see numbers that low". But overall it's nice to see that fasting has not hurt me and the benefits seem to be showing up in my bloodwork.

I've now lost a half-stone and will be so very happy when I reach the 1 stone level.
