Hi - hopefully this group is still active. I'm 55 and 156 cm and trying to shift 5kg - well not shift it I guess but lose it. Not making much progress - Fat secret allows me 1700 cal/day but have just checked another link and that gives me 1550 as maintanance. Any ideas what I should aim for?

it depends a little bit on how active you are; I would go with what feels right. If you're hungry, then you should eat. Eat good, unprocessed food...and by that I don't mean raw...I mean "no junk food"

Thanks - I know I do need to up the exercise, working long days but it's pretty low activity. Good advice about food - don't eat much junk as in burgers etc but do go a bit for quick meals when we do get home.
