Going to the gym every day for 20 - 40 min of cardio and tracking what I eat to stay below my RDA recommended daily allowance of calories. Took an online course re: how to keep new year resolutions one of the important thing I learned was commitment to goal. People who focus on commitment to behavior change were more successful than people who measured outcomes. So for me it is more important to keep focus on my behaviors than the outcome of numbers on the scale.
