Hi I have been on Fat secret for a while but not in an active group. I was doing well but have lost my way and am trying to get back on track. In 8 wks I lost over 20lbs got sick, fell off and gained 9 now I am back on and hoping connecting with a support group will help to keep me more accountable. Right now pretty mad at myself!

Hi Mel 1955, I just joined this group today. I've lost 30 pounds since October 2011. It's not fast, but it's steady, and it's working. The one thing I have learned is not to get mad at myself. Don't beat yourself up. You said you lost 20 pounds and gained back 9. Think of that as a big WIN! You're 11 pounds better off than you were 8 weeks ago!!! That's awesome. Concentrate on the positive. I don't know how much weight you hope to lose, but just remember, it didn't come on in a few weeks; it's not going to come off in a few weeks. I say, keep up the good work and be kind to yourself.

It's so stinkin hard! I know. I did so well for so many months and then when I hit a plateau I got frustrated and kept talking myself out of exercising. Bad idea. Just keep going, look at what you've done...that proves it is possible!! I don't know why I had the notion that it would come off fast and easy, it doesn't, it's hard, hard work. Health wise it's worth every sacrifice! I started in January and have lost 54 lbs. in a hard battle and that is exactly my half way mark. So I'm hoping that I won't hit too many more plateaus and I can say I'm done at the end of 2012! Keep it up! you CAN do it!

Hi mel, I started atkins 4 weeks ago and have lost 10 pounds, I did atkins years ago and lost 80 pounds but now that I am older I am having such a hard time losing, the scale hasnt moved in 4 days! I am also getting frustrated! I am sticking with it though! good luck!

Hi Mel, I'm a new group member here - just found this site today and now joining this group. Be proud of yourself because you acknowledged that you slipped, and you've now picked yourself back up and getting focused again. I lost 75 lbs before in 2001-2002, kept it off 3 years, then negative life events caused me to turn to "comfort food", plus not caring anymore, forget exercising ... soon I gained all 75 pounds back. I don't like being 215 - decided that I want my life back. This weight holds me down where I can't do what I used to do. If you are looking for a motivator - I'm here for you! Could use some help myself in staying positive and moving forward. Nice to meet you.. Staying Postive -

...and Marcia, great job on losing the 10 pounds in 4 weeks. Awesome! I'm in my mid 50's so I knew it's going to be a little harder for me to get back in shape, than when I lost so many pounds before in my 40's. I'll be watching to see how Atkins works for you - I've thought about that diet, not sure which way to start. Nice to meet you here! Staying Postive -
