Hi all! I just joined this site yesterday and so far long it so much better than the Adkins journal. I just turned 56 and have about 40 lbs to loose. If there is anyone out there who would like to be my buddy, I could use all the help I can get.

Hi my name is Pat. I am 57 and i would love some diet buddies. I have fallen off the weight loss wagon in a spectacular way and i am struggling to get back on. I am also counting calories which is ok for a few days and then i just give up because i get sick of thinking about food constantly. Good luck to everyone on their goals.

Hello, Shaula is my name, age 55 and need to lose those 50 lbs I have been struggling with for years. Exercise is limited but not swimming. I need a new total knee this year sometime. Dread it. I think losing the weight will help me mobilize better and sooner. So what I am looking for is that support that is so important to losing. I know ALL the ins and outs of weight loss. The actuality of weight loss is simply taking in less calories than I expend each day. So I think the support here is what is most important for me. I still like reading tips and recipes and hearing about other peoples struggles. We are all in the same boat so getting healthy is a priority.

I joined today. Started Atkins on Wednesday and am down from 172 to 166. I am feeling pretty good about it. I need to make myself exercise but I just hate it. Anyway - have never tried group support before my doc says lose 40 or I am trying. Personally I don't think I need to weigh 120 I am 5/4 and not in my 20's... I think if I can get to 130 I will be realy happy.
