I was doing so well today! All it took to mess up was to walk into the kitchen to see what my cat was doing. I didn't control my urge! I wish I knew how to do that! Any tips? Sad

It's hard for me too. Wish we could come up with some kinda of mantra like" I can do this" to say that would automatically turn off those cravings, but nothing yet. All I can say is that we all mess up. Hafta pick ourselves up and think that whatever we eat now will not look good on us in the future.....Sorry I can't help

If I'm home, and I know this sounds weird, but I go and brush my teeth and drink a glass of water. After that, I don't usually want whatever I was thinking I wanted. It's a little harder for me at work though.

I am reading a book called "Eating the Moment" by Somov. It is a mindfulness eating book. It has helped me delineate between hunger and craving. The best part is he covers craving triggers and then offers exercises to deal with the cravings.

Being frugal, I got it from the library and have since decided to buy it.

Hi, I just joined the group. I really like the brush your teeth advice. I do that at work when there are snacks around (which means everyday)
For motivation when I am tempted , I go to the closet and try on an almost fit me now pair of jeans.
