Tipping the scales at 190. Want to get down to 140 in a year. My biggest challenge in night eating. I've lost weight when I wrote everything down.

Lots of unhealthy snacks at work, too; I have to stay away from those. On a positive note, I take the stairs instead of the elevator.

I too, struggle with night eating. What I've found is that most "night" activities at home are, frankly, boring. TV and movies really are not spell-binding. We sit in front of the thing because we're conditioned t think it's interesting. My wife loves movies - I don't. But it's our "together" time. We have chatted, and she is starting to be OK with me NOT doing movies with her. Instead, I'll slap on the headphones and practice piano, or go to my workshop and diddle around with a circuit to learn something, etc.

What activity or non-activity are you doing when you find yourself munching at night? Can you find something that engages you more fully?

If I watch TV or sit and surf the web, I munch.

To keep from munching, I either read or write at night. What I REALLY should do is housework. LOL!

Also, if I plan something after work -- writing at the library or working out at the gym -- I make it a point to go DIRECTLY to the library / gym from work.

If I stop off at home, a lot of times I won't go out again.

I ditched my cable TV on Thursday. I don't miss it. If I really need to watch the news it is online. I will probably buy some DVDs of shows I like in the future. I write too Juli, and the best thing has been to get rid of TV. Oh, it is not easy, 95% of people can't do it. I would rather read or go online. I am missing all the gruesome Boston and New England news. I can get weather online.

As you can see I gained back, but I am tall and muscular so 6'2" and 230 is not that heavy, but I want to lose anyway.
