If you are not taking meds for your blood pressure, make sure you monitor it carefully by checking it often. Most grocery stores have a machine you can use. I was diagnosed a few years back with high blood pressure and took the meds but have been able to reduce the dose twice due to diet and exercise. (Now I'm just at a minimum dose.) Don't let your stubborness cause you to have a stroke.

You can buy home BP monitors for $50-$60 at places like KMart, Target and CostCo. I think they're good to have around - you get to find out what things cause your BP to go up or down.

FYI, I started exercising, 15 min, 3X per week. Not much more than jogging up and down my street in the morning before breakfast. That dropped my resting BP (after a few weeks) by 30 points.
