Hello, my name is Traci and I am just looking for support in my journey to lose weight. I have totally changed my lifestyle in regard to what I put in my mouth. No more junk food or fast food. Healthy choices from here on outCool

Hi Traci (by the way my name is Traci). This is my first day and have decided to change my lifestyle too...eliminate junk and fast food. I am 46 and want to be healthy for the first time in my life. As you said, this is a lifestyle challenge. Good luck and much success!!

hi tracy and tracy lol..good for you,this is an awesome time to start a new lifestyle,its a new year for a new us rightSmile) i did what you are doing,over the past two years,got really into it past year,and the scales have shown losing over 30kg so far,you feel so good not eating takeouts,and hard to begin with but people get used to your new healthy ideas,and in the end you become a rolemodel for others to change thier lives good luck keep it up,my advice is make small changes slowly,do be too hard on yourself,and treat yourself once in a while to something you love,its what you do most of the time that matters,not the odd treat.

Hello, I am new here. Im 48 and need to lose about 60 pounds. Im 5'4 and weight 180. I have a fractured hip right now and its really hard to lose. I have 3 sisters who are all so competitive. One has always been thin, though she does have a warped relationship with food. The other 2 just lost weight. All three of them are lording their weight loss over me because they are immature and they can. Of course they think they are being subtle but I can see right through them. I need support and wont go to them for it because they would love for me to remain overweight.

The great part of FatSecret is the buddy system...find someone in the same boat as you, then challenge them (be supportive of their losses and when they have set backs) and let them know that you are going to beat them to the has worked for me. I've still got 30lbs to go, but my buddy & I have kept pace...sometimes he is leading, other times I am...right now I'm ahead by about it's pretty close! Good Luck
