We bought some cheese pretzels for snacking on this last week thinking it was a better choice then most snacks. I did well at choosing a "serving size" unlike the last diets I followed, but one thing that I noticed is that I was more hungry after eating them. I especially noticed it this time for some reason. I was craving all sorts of things at work last week. This week, I didn't even think of our little cupboard store at work Very Happy And the only thing I left out of my diet were the pretzels. Not hungry at all like last week. Does anyone else notice that when it comes to snacks?

Yes. This is why I always choose snacks with lots of protein and less carbs and I also drink a large COLD glass of water before each snack. Even if you have diabetes, when your sugar goes low, you should increase with a carb or 2 and then balance it out with a protein. This allows sustainability with your blood sugars. Carbs increase sugar, protein makes you not so hungry. Not sure if this answered your question.

I noticed that too with those tiny twists. I was more hungry shortly after snacking than if I hadn't eaten anything.

Those pretzels were pretty much 100% simple carbs. Simple sugars and simple starches which convert to simple sugars.

That equals a quick blood sugar boost followed by quick drop and the hunger/cravings that go with it.

Round you have it down pat!! Add lots of protein when eating those pretzels. Dip them in Peanut butter or wrap in cheese. There are these Laughing cow cheeses that come in wedges. They are flavored and one or two wedges can be used as a dip and they are delish!! I think 35 calories per wedge. I like the chipotle. Not to spicy but boy is it great!!

I notice that after any significant amount of carbs that I begin to crave more carbs. Vicious cycle. I have been snacking on a low-fat yogurt, a serving of lightly salted peanuts, or a low-fat string cheese or fruit. I am so proud of all of us and I love that you have past your 30lb. weight mark! Go you!
Hope to see less of you, Amy

Welcome Libragirl! Very Happy Hope to see you here often.

Amy, the peanuts surely helped me and they don't get me all "snacky feeling" after eating them. And I love them!
Tina, I LOVE the laughing cow cheese too!
