I recently joined a gym for the first time. I am in no way a fitness buff, but the trainer there is really good. One of the first things he told me is don't net any fewer than 1200 calories. If you only eat 1000 calories and burn say 300 of that you are throwing your body in to starvation mode and it will hang on to whatever it can. It was a really hard concept for me, but it is working slowly. He also has me increase the protien and cut the carbs. Just a bit to start, but I do not get hungry as often. Hoe this helps a little.
