don't do it alone , try to have a challange or weight loss competition with someone you know who wanna lose weight , i did that and it made me more comitted as im a competitive person , losing weight is not the easiest thing to do , but people commenting on who wonderful you look and the joy of buying smaller sizes makes it worth every minutes and the hard effort , also you have to set your mind that its alife time change not a time framed diet , and later you will get used to healthy diet and regular exercise and start to enjoy it !!

Motivation for weight loss tends to hit me later in the day in the form of 'tomorrow I will finally do better' thoughts. I read a facebook poster the other day that said motivation for weight loss needs to happen several times a day. I have two very healthy children and my son in particular loves healthy food. He's always saying 'Mum, I'm so glad you're going to be skinny like me!' etc I am also the kind of girl who needs some form of treat each day. I find the carbonated mildly flavoured spring water with ice feels like a treat and has no calories, there are some very low calorie chocolate mousses for your 75-100 calorie snacks etc.

We sometimes act before really thinking about it. Before you eat, try to take a minute to motivate yourself again. I know I can sometimes reach for the treats without a second thought! Good luck.

I have a motivation problem as well. And I always start off okay but then little setbacks make it hard to stay on track. I just try to envision the thin healthy me

For those looking for daily motivation and support, look into Progress no Perfection. I post on it daily and it has helped me stay on track even through the hard times and the back slides, the people have been really supportive. They quickly became my friends. I hope some of you join us.

Hi everyone,

I also struggle a lot with losing weight. I can't say no to food. If it's in front of me or I think about it, I need to eat it, if I say no I actually get angry. Please message me if you think we could keep in contact and support each other. I am/can be fairly active, I like hiking, cycling and swimming but just don't have the will power to stick to anything.

I gain weight so fast its unreal! I have been busting my hump since May, started at 347 and lost down to 267. One week I got off the program and gained 6lbs back...Very frustrating and now its causing me to crave food. I have got to grab that motivation that I had and shrug off the rest. I have found if your friends/family will help and motivate you to eat good its much easier, its not so easy when they are not eating healthy or coaching you to eat healthy along the way.

I have just the opposite problem Robert F. I have to avoid my family to lose weight.
