It has been an emotion rollercoaster and over stressful these past few weeks. I started the Insanity workout a couple months ago but only lasted 3 weeks because it took up so much of my time to do it in a larger group. I am in the process of buying a larger house with my husband and are still waiting for the closing date. I need some help or ideas to help me not turn to food. I eat even when I am over full already. I've gained like 15 lbs in the past 4 weeks. HELP!!! Sad

Have you tried finding something to do that will not only take your mind off the problems and stress but also keep your hands busy at the same time. For,example, I knit. It keeps my hands busy and I find the rhythm of the needles can be relaxing. What do you like to do for fun or to relax? Many You can find a way to use one of those activities. I am pretty good at thinking outside the box if you need a hand.

I stress eat a lot at work too. Relax? What's that. My relaxing time seems to only be when I am sleeping at night. What are some good ways to relax and relieve some stress? I'm not so good in that area.

I am a stress eater as well, but I keep strong mint gum in my desk at work and will pop a piece of 2 in when I get stressed. Usually I will chew it for awhile and realize 2 things... 1) I am not really hungry and 2) I am not quite as stressed.

I was a stress eater. I stopped stress eating by removing myself from the stressor (my mother). In 2007 she and my father fired, yes fired, my husband and I from the family business. I was really angry then, but have discovered it was the best thing to happen to us. I have never been so successful with my weight loss now that my contact with my family is limited. As sad as that might sound.

It's interesting the things that happen we think are the absolute worst, end up being the best things for us. Congrats on the weight loss. I hope to be seeing some in my future too. Instead of jumping head first into a strick diet that I will soon quit, I decided to first work on my stress/boredom eating. Been doing a lot better at that with the recommendation of a book by another member.
