Very Happy Hi im pearl, im 21 going on 22, a week ago i was weighing in at 265,im trying to loose around 50+. Ive been struggling with being overweight since i was around 16. Ive notice that ive been getting heaiver, and its causing health issues, so my goal is to get my weight down to atleast 200 to start.. I never really been on diets cuz i give up really easy, most of my family are at a way smaller size then i am, so i have no support or motivation to keep up with my weight loss. Im looking for support buddys, someone to help motivate me to do good and keep on track, also someone to give me tips on how to eat and work out ect.. Please add me if you think you can help, im willing to be someones motivation also Very Happy . hope to hear from someone soon..

Hi, I am Gabby. I am 21. I have similiar weight loss goals as you. I too started to gain weight around 14-16 years old. Not until recently is when I actually started to care. I do not know what quite triggered it actually but I am somewhat glad. Not so much because now I have to work and I am pretty lazy I must admit. lol. But I am willing to be a motivator and support system for you. Together we can do it. Very Happy

What I have done is try to eat healthier. Lots of fruits as snacks, vegetables too. If I eat junk food I will eat it in moderation. Every so once in a while. I figure I cannot deprive myself of anything completely because then it would not be a lifestyle that I want to live. It would be more of a diet and I see a diet as restricting and temporary. In regards to working out. I wish I worked out at least every other day and then work towards every weekday after a month or so of every other day. But I don't do that. I try to work out a couple times a week. Usually 20-30 minutes. There has been some 40-50 minute sessions as well. I usually just go running since I do not have a gym membership or anything fancy like that. Not sure if I am doing this right but that is how I am working towards achieving my goal. Maybe we can help each other out? Very Happy

Howdy, So I'm right there with you guys at 21 and I'm started towards my goal this week. I've done this in the past and gotten in good shape, problem is I'm an all off or all on kind've guy. So when I don't count I REALLY don't count, the plan this time is to count to maintain once I've hit my goal. But add me if you'd like. Also I'd like to offer up any my help on anything you may need advice wise in the fitness area, I was nearly certified as a personal trainer but with school and such I ran out of time / money to follow through on the certifying test, so as it's not official any answers to questions you may have you need to remember to take with a grain of salt! Hopefully we can lose the weight and keep each other focused!

I am sorry to hear about you running out of time & money to continue your career. Hopefully in the future that is something you can look into again. I have sent you a buddy request. Count me in for support and motivation. We will lose the weight and keep it off. Very Happy

Hi all! Same boat, sort of!
I'm 21 and have been on my 'weightloss journey' since August 2012. Honestly, it feels like a lifetime ago that I was eating takeaways most nights of the week, but it's only been a few months.

Like you, I have been overweight most of my life. I remember having to wear corrective shoes when I first started to learn to walk because my little legs couldn't really hold my weight as a baby, so basically, I have been overweight since I was born. I naturally lost quite a bit of 'puppy fat' when I was around 14/15 years old and was actually quite thin but since hitting 16/17 years of age I have just been going onwards and upwards until I stepped on the scales in August 2012 and saw 202lbs. I was so angry with myself.

I know how you feel with regard to family, my mum is like a baby bird! She's a good 3 or 4 dress sizes smaller than I am and my two sisters are both around the same as her, so family photos are my worst nightmare to say the least!

I am now weighing in at 169.8lbs (my goal was to be in the 160's by Christmas so as you can see, I only worked as hard as I needed to to just make it!) but I know I could have done lots better. I am now on day 2 of the Dukan diet and finding it super hard, haven't even thought about working out as I can't think of anything I'd rather not do right this minute! My main problem is that I love chocolate and I am super lazy, not a good combo if you're trying to drop the pounds!
I am also looking for motivation and a kick up the butt when I'm feeling like I can't do it anymore, I'd be more than happy to be the motivator as well!We could all help each other out? The 21 clan Laughing

Hi everyone.

I've tried dieting and just plain not eating before, but then it happens, what everyone warns you about. You start eating and just gain everything back. I remember not eating and going from 220 to almost 200. Then I lost control and gaied all, and more back. I ate like crazy for the holidays and my man has been avoiding me because I "lost control" or some bs like that. But he's right. I gained tons of weight. I topped my highest weight at 235 on the first of this year. All of myclothes were to tight. My mom kept making comments... isn't that to tight..

So now I'm trying a semi Adkins version. I cut out most carbs. With the exception of the 8th, I haven't eaten chocolate, bread, potatoes, etc. I already lost 7 pounds. Without exercising. It feels so funny to know I lost weight... and still eat food!!! My goal is 200, then hopefully 180 by may and I'll see where it goes from there. Smile

I am 21 and as most of you am also trying to lose weight and use this site as a tool. I'm here to buddy with anyone who wants motivation/help/just someone to talk it all through with. I have lost 50 pounds since I started using this site but I still have a long way to go, I plan on using 100 this year... 2013 WOOOO!

I am 21 going on 22, and like all of you. .. I'm here to lose weight. I started gaining a lot of weight when someone very clise to me passed away in 2006. I went from weighing 135 to now weighing 285. I am now wanting to get down to about 175. And I need some pushing and some motivation. Not only am I doing this to be happy with who I am. .. but also for my health. And it just so happens that I've recently gotten engaged and would love more than anything to look beautiful in my wedding dress that day. So buddies. ... add me and lets do this together!
