I have been dieting and exercising regularly for over a year now and have tried different diet plans. The one thing that was working out the best, as tedious as it is, was calorie counting. But after a really good start I kind of got stuck in the same weight after loosing 8 pds. I am 5'3 and weight 145. My initial weight was 148 and I got down to 139 but then no matter what I did, how many calories I cut my weight did not go down any further. I am wondering if anybody has any tips or similar experience that can help me. I am reading on a booklet called Fat Loss Factor that says something about liver cleansing and fasting to help boost metabolism... anybody know if this works?

I don't believe those will boost your metabolism. Anytime you stop eating your body will want to go into starvation mode and hold on to any food you do consume. Any type of cleansing/fasting/detox is good to get rid of any toxins and bad bacteria in your body which may help when eating healthy and getting the right nutrients your body needs.

I'm big on calorie counting too. I'm not sure on your diet/exercise regimen but maybe increase your calorie count for about 5-7 days (still continue working out) then reduce the calorie intake. This should help in losing again. Also, if your doing only cardio change up your routine to include circuit training and/or weight lifting. Muscle burns fat in that your body burns more calories to maintain muscles while at the same time increasing your metabolism.
