small portions every 3 or so hours like Aliica suggested definitely works. Also, making simple (healthy) substitutions for any white flour/rice/etc or high sugar foods is a good first step. Staying away from anything processed also helps. Good rule of thumb is to buy 90% from the outside walls of the grocery store (veggies, meats, dairy)
