A high carbohydrate intake can make too much insulin in the body, cause hunger, overeating, and favor fat storage. The theory is by restricting carbohydrates in the diet, the body switches from burning glucose as its primary energy source to fat instead. Weight loss occurs by targeting body fat as the new fuel.
So far this is the same as the Atkin's, right?
As far as I can tell, the differences between the X factor diet and the Atkins, is that the Atkins is more regimented, counting grams of carbs and for the 1st two weeks, you eat under 20g of carbs/day. Which is miniscule, isn't it? Then gradually ramp that up, but never get much over 60g/day, until goal is reached.
I've only done some reading. I am in no way an expert on either idea. But it seems like the X factor diet uses the same principles, yet you don't actually count grams of carbs.
Logic tells me that following the principles of both can only work. But I don't want to move into a space where I have to measure/ weigh everything I eat.

I never know what to say here . . . I'm just me, I guess. I might add more later. For now, I'm pretty open about who I am, so if anyone wants to know anything, just ask :-)

About / History
|
I've read The X factor diet by Leslie Kenton. I've started reading up on other diets, and as far as I can see, the Atkins is based on the same principles - drastically reducing carbs and eating more protein and fat, ie ketogenics.
