being diagnosised with diabetes was a kick in the pants. I knew it was coming - mom's entire family is & was diabetic. I have learned a great deal about protiens & what is not at all healthy for me. I have lost 40 pounds over the past year & 15 more to go. It is do-able with some effort. We all need to eat healthy, its just learning & doing it that matters. You need to take care of yourself, noone else can or will. Love yourself by doing what's right for your body.

 How To Follow Giac's own diet:

Dont feel guilty about wanting something sweet or salty or unhealthy. Its the commercial life we live in. If you want somethng sweet or salty or extremely guilt ridden, go ahead and have a few bites, dont eat the whole thing, save it for later or share with your partner or friends. Proteins are what really fuels the body so the more protein verses carbs the better. we do need carbs to fuel the brain but in moderation. I live by 45 carbs per meal & 15 carbs per snack.Im also a firm believer in eating your most calories during breakfast & lunch. We are busy during the times afterward so we can burn off the fat & calories. Research & learn all you can about the foods we eat.

1.Anything in moderation.
2.dont deprive yourself of something you are craving. Just eat a small amount
3.if you eat out, when you order, ask for a to go box right then & put half of the meal in the box. you wont even miss it & you have lunch or dinner the next day.
4.lots of water, as much as you want

Over the past year & a couple of months, I have been learning all I can about the affects of carbs on our bodies. All the refined & convenient stuff that is out there is really not good for our bodies. Those items in the long run are doing so much harm to ourselves & loved ones.
